Simulation of data transmission latency between nodes in IP networks
Balej, Jiří ; Molnár, Karol (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on the delays incurred in data transmitting over IP networks. The top of the paper is devoted to points, where delay is invoked and causes of the latency. For individual sources of delay are are described the parameters that affect the usual size of latency. The next section describes the types of networks and their typical delay. In the paper are also discussed tools for measuring delay and determining the number of intermediate devices. The thesis contains results of measurements delay time in the real network. For these results are listed conclusions about the delay for one intermediate device. There is also said general ratio of crow-fly distance and calculated distance. The last part deals the simulation of delay in the NS2 program. The results of thesis are scripts that shows the relation of delay and the number of switches, routers, and the length of the path.

This bachelor work is dealing with a proposal and configuration of company network with utilization of equipment by Cisco Systems company. The project includes particular procedures and principles which are essential to realize the proposal of data network. It includes analysis of the current stage and future requirements of the society. The part of the thesis is also my own scenario of network´s proposal.
Routing principles in data networks
Stodůlka, Tomáš ; Burda, Karel (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of routing in data networks. The theoretical part defines general options of connections between two nodes. Furthermore, the principles of switching within a single network and routing between the networks are described. Another part of thesis focuses on the routing methods in terms of static or dynamic enrolment into the routing table. In the practical part have been designed and realized a structure and topology of laboratory exercise for subject Architecture of networks.
Design of new laboratory exercises for GNS3 network simulator
Bureš, František ; Červenka, Vladimír (referee) ; Jeřábek, Jan (advisor)
The goal was to create three laboratory tasks with process and help in GNS3 environment. All laboratory tasks should be used for extending practise experiences from Cisco course CCNP and illustration of GNS3 function. Whole thesis is focused on using IPv6 and coexistence with IPv4. Teoretical parts are dedicated for preparation on laboratory tasks and their main goal is explaining and use of commands in specific problematics. In GNS3 environment, there is explained instalation and basic settings. Laboratory tasks on theme MP-BGP, IPv6 tunnels and IPsec VPN with use of VTI are divided into specific parts. The parts consist of the described procedures with topology, detailed instructions and the entire configuration in Annex.
Multigateway routing system based on the Mikrotik router
Straník, Jan ; Novotný, Vít (referee) ; Jelínek, Mojmír (advisor)
This thesis deals with the routing of data traffic to multiple gateways with a network operating system MikroTik RouterOS, which has become widespread in the small firms and home users. It is aimed to describe the problem with using multiple gateways. RouterOS description itself and its core components needed to solve this issue, such as routing, packet marking and quality assuranceservices. It also deals with the description of the particular design and testing. The proposedsolution is verified on the example of a real situation. Finally, the proposed solution is compared to alternative solutions, commonly used in practice.
Experimental network for QoS support testing
Fogl, Miroslav ; Mácha, Tomáš (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The work specifies problems with support of qualitative requirements in IP network services on the network and link layer. There are also described options of qualitative support of individual networking components in the UTKO laboratory (routers, L3 switches). Created experimental network is loaded by various types of service (VoIP, FTP, HTTP, Video). Data services realization is ensured by available terminals (IP phones, IP cameras, IP video-phones, servers, client stations). Metering is targeted on the manipulation with packets in the router. Options which Cisco router offers are verified by packet analysis. Available methods of dropping are compared on the base of metering and evaluated. Optimal handling with output queue after metering in experimental network is LLQ mechanism. It is able to prefer packets according to their priority in the IP header. Further the difference of link overloading by huge dataflow after QoS policy using is simulated. To reach availability of data services in the whole network is necessary to deal with mechanisms for qualitative services support in all the network components in the network.
Longest Prefix Match Algorithms
Weigner, Martin ; Puš, Viktor (referee) ; Tobola, Jiří (advisor)
The speed of computer network is increasing. One of the basic tasks which has to be solved by the network devices is longest prefix match. Many algorithms are able to solve this task but it's necessary to solve it very fast because of increasing transfer speed and the routing standard IPv6. This standard has longer addresses and it's necessary to search prefixes in much bigger sets. The thesis describes present algorithms that solve the problem. These are confronted with new algorithm HashTreeBitmap which is also described in the work. On the tests is documented that this algorithm is able to cope with high demands which are placed on it.
Management of data networks based on IP protocol
Patala, Petr ; Fojtová, Lucie (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The objective of this master’s thesis is monitoring and management of computer networks via SNMP protocol and its practical application. The main part describes working with SNMPc program in an experimental network through implementation of its parts into the network and configuration of SNMP agents on routers, switch and end station. This thesis includes the results of traffic testing, disconnected links, effects of traffic load on QoS parameters, making longterm statistics, baselines and alarms. The thesis also includes parametres obtained with SNMP protocol from network nodes and end station.
Control unit for IRC system
Mališ, Martin ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Macho, Tomáš (advisor)
This bacheleor’s thesis deals with design of control system for temperature regulation in family house. System is designed for individual room heating and consist of one control unit and several thermostatic units, which are situated all over the house. Control unit is central element of heating system and it uses ZigBee technology in comunication with thermostatic units
Self-organizing MESH wireless networks
Němec, Petr ; Burget, Radim (referee) ; Růčka, Lukáš (advisor)
This master thesis deals with self organized Mesh network. It describes routing and particular routing protocols, which are used in these networks. The thesis deals with Mesh network QoS assurance. Analysis and theoretical background of Mesh networks, routing and router protocols are included in the first chapter. Basic models of assuring Quality of Service are also described. Those are Best Effort, IntServ and DiffServ. Second chapter describes the devices used in the specific Mesh network topology - Trospos 5210 MetroMesh router produced by Motorola Canopy. Basic settings and properties required to establish a Mesh network are described. Next part of the thesis is the design implementation, which involves creation and configuration of the Mesh Network. Network configuration consisting of two Gateway points and afterwards behaviors of the network in a steady state versus one gate failure are compared. Furthermore, implementation of QoS according to components that support two types of QoS assurance regarding type of bandwidth reservation and defined traffic classes. In conclusion, the thesis describes measurement methods of QoS parameters for chosen applications, evaluation and comparison of measurement results for both types of Quality of Service assurance.
