A collection of songs with piano accompaniment for first degree of basic schools
LOUMOVÁ, Pavlína
In this diploma thesis, we create a collection of folk songs with piano accompaniments for primary school. The complexity of said accompaniments is offered in two versions: basic one for beginners and more advanced one for skilled piano players. This collection contains songs in major and minor key, duple and triple time.
Marian Songs of Sepekov
Farová, Marie
The Marian songs of Sepekov is the title for a handwritten Hymnal, which nobody comprehensivly examined and never publish. I discovered this manuscript when I was researching materials for my Bacherol thesis. The hymnal contains 489 czech-language pages from which I composed 43 songs with the organs accompaniment or songs in a four-part adjustment. The transcript od melodic line, next processing of melody and composition of polyphony give the readers an insight into the period of the formation of manuscript and it zooms miracles for which the manuscript was created. The historical events, which were accured in 18th century in Sepekov and were an integral part of the life of people from sepekov, are component of Marian songs. The whole Hymnal is built on devotion, supplication, prayers and the love of the pilgrims to Pana Marie from Sepekov. The pilgrimages, which they performed to this marian's place, were a seal of approval of their belief and it was culmination of their spiritual life for most of them.

Developing pronunciation through musical activities in French lessons
Prucek, Jan ; Klinka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Jančík, Jiří (referee)
Title of the thesis: Developing pronunciation through musical activities in French lessons Keywords: communicative approach, phonetics, phonology, pronunciation, prosody, activity, music, rhythm, rhythmisation, melody, tempo, intonation, accent, song, rap, facial expressions Abstract: This thesis deals with the teaching of French phonetics, considers the status of phonetics in communicatively oriented teaching, and comes to the fact that the teaching of phonetics and phonology is not a priority in the communicative approach. The work demonstrates the importance of such teaching, and therefore explores how the teaching of pronunciation or some of its components could be made more attractive. Based on the proven relationship of music and language, both as auditory phenomena, this thesis approaches the interwoven elements of these two areas. The aim is to explore how the musical elements, such as: rhythm, melody, tempo, phrasing, etc., could be used in the teaching of French pronunciation - especially at the suprasegmental level. The work offers a basic inventory of exercises which benefit from this characteristic and which has been verified in practice, and in the final analysis summarises their effectiveness in foreign language teaching.
Computer-Generated Music
Chmelka, Jakub ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Fapšo, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the problem of music composition by means of computers. The system uses artificial neural networks which learn the regularities of the chosen music genre from the recordings in MIDI format. In addition to the melody, this work places great emphasis on rhythm of newly created compositions. Besides the problem of neural networks, this work deals with the appropriate representation of input data and re-conversion into MIDI format. The system is implemented as a set of scripts mainly in the mathematical software Matlab.
Music Creation Using Cellular Automata
Novotný, Pavel ; Martinek, David (referee) ; Peringer, Petr (advisor)
In this thesis the cellular automata are used for algorithmic music composition. It contains a general overview of the algorithmic composition method and cellular automata. The crucial part of the thesis describes the concept and implementation of the program with a graphical user interface which uses two simple methods for conversion cellular automata's states into music. The final program was tested on several cellular automata and the sound outputs of both methods were compared with each other. The program is useful especially for the creation of short melodies.
Computer-Generated Music
Lanc, Jakub ; Štancl, Vít (referee) ; Fapšo, Michal (advisor)
Main topic of the thesis is musical composition by means of computer, specifically usage of neural networks for melody generation. Contemporary artificial music composition approaches are briefly mapped, and some types of neural networks used are presented. Implementation of Matlab scripts, allowing melody generation is presented, and the process is illustrated on a few examples.
Creation and processing of signal database
Glett, Jiří ; Šebesta, Vladimír (referee) ; Sigmund, Milan (advisor)
The work become acquainted with history and rise databases globally. Construes philosophy structuralization, sorting and purpose using. Work further deal with concrete databases softwares intended directly to processing audio signals. Further treat of programmes that the make possible generation personal database structures. Work deal about SUSAS database and analysing its content. It is created self database of music signals, which includes several musical groups always similar in certain aspect. Speech database contains records from the SUSAS database and records from television programs, reality-shows, sports broadcasts, reports and documents, when speakers are subjected to stress and emotions. The work is a database program that can effectively classify all records and processes. The database can be freely extended. The resulting program was realized into Czech and English version.
Music scores notation support system
Rejthar, Edvard ; Vojíř, Stanislav (advisor) ; Smutný, Zdeněk (referee)
Musicians need to notate their melody into music scores. If they use paper (which is highly comfortable), they lose the digitalizing advantages -- easy sharing and computer playback. On the other side, computer user interface has not been adjusted for music notation and the control of music editors is not trivial. So musicians tend to notate the music in plain text. The innumerable count of internet songbook can serve us as an example where the music is in a minimalistic way indicated by chord marks, positioned above the lyrics. Nevertheless, this plain text can not by easily played. Our work concerns program Mordent that tends to serve as a connecting link between plain text and music score. It is an application for musicians; it is written in object-oriented PHP and uses typesetting processor Lilypond to create PDF, PNG, and MIDI files from user input. First version of the application was limited and not much user-friendly. The user testing brought some new improving suggestions. This work documents the course of the testing and significant changes that extended the application: new editor behaviour, mobile-devices compatible redesign, and eventually the set of games, suitable for practising of musical hearing ability and music theory.
