The bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the landscape character in the cadastral area of Škůdra. The concerned territory is in the district Strakonice, South Bohemia. In the research part, there are basic information about landscape, landscape character and its protection. The practical part is focused on the identification of natural, historical and cultural features characterizing the landscape character and their subsequent classification according to their expression, meaning and value. Based on these features, the landscape character was also evaluated in terms of preservation, aesthetic value and degree of protection. Thanks to this analysis, it was possible to make concrete proposals to increase the value of the landscape.

Typology of Nature Parks in the Czech Republic

Typology of Nature Parks in the Czech Republic Nature parks cover about one tenth of the Czech Republic. They are classified under general protection of nature and landscape in the nature and landscape system of our state and primarily serve to protect the landscape character with significant aesthetic, natural and cultural values. Nature parks are currently set up by a law regulation by regional authorities. This thesis provides comprehensive information about all nature parks in the Czech Republic, describes their history and their present form. The thesis deals with the research of landscape protection and landscape character. The main result of the thesis is the creation of a typology of natural parks of the Czech Republic, rated by their landscape coverage and selected natural conditions - altitude, typological division of the relief, climatic conditions and height vegetation levels. The influence of mining activities on the landscape surrounding the town Příbram

This diploma thesis attends to the landscape character, the methodics of the evaluation of landscape character and the influence of mining on the landscape character. Příbram, influenced by uranium mining during last century, was chosen as a model area. The aim of this thesis is a comparison of chosen methodics of the evaluation of landscape character in the term of mining district and a creation of new methodics specialized for model area. The thesis focus on the landscape character and restoration ecology in mining areas in theoretical part. There is a description of landscape character protection and preservation, also in terms of law, reclamations and uranium mining. Below, the four chosen methodics are mentioned. In practical part, the diploma thesis characterizes the model area, its history and also current situation including reclamation made. Then there are a comparison of chosen methodics of landscape character evaluation according to elected criteria and a project of methodics for to a evaluation of chosen area. The protection of landscape in the law This thesis deals with the legal protection of landscape, focusing on its general protection, i.e., the protection of the landscape outside built-up areas excluding its special protected parts. The main aim of the submitted thesis is to present the basic overview on legal institutes that are provided by the substantial law in force for general landscape protection and, moreover, to describe the most significant ones in detail. The thesis is divided into three chapters, each of them devoted to the study of various aspects of the issue under investigation. In the introductory chapter, general grounds of the landscape protection are described. It is subdivided into three parts. The first part attempts to give a precise meaning to the term "landscape". Further, the historical development of legal landscape protection is outlined in the second part. Finally, the third part deals with the significance of landscape, factors affected its current state, and reasons for its protection. Chapter Two focuses on the substantive law on the international level. This diploma thesis deals with the preventive assessment of the landscape character of the cadastral territory of Rabštejn nad Střelou. The evaluated area extends into the Nature Park and there is a small specially protected area called Střela Nature Reserve. The research area outside of the natural wealth is also rich in historical buildings. The research part has the focus on the analysis of the landscape of Rabštejn nad Střelou. The territory has been assessed on the basis of identified natural, cultural and historical features and values of landscape character. For each of the traits, its significance, expression and value were determined. For the cadastral area the degree of preservation of the landscape character, its aesthetic value and the degree of protection were determined. On the basis of the analysis, specific proposals for increasing the value of the landscape character were set.

Vliv ovocných sadů na krajinný ráz Lhenicka

The thesis deals with the assessment of landscape character of the selected and mapped locations. It also covers the topic of establishing orchards and their integration into the local landscape. The theoretical part describes the history of orchards in the Czech Republic, defines the notion of landscape and landscape protection in the Czech legislation. Furthermore it explains general information of the drawing of European grants and mentions practical solution of orchards in land consolidations. The practical part consists of elaborated details of the project of planting and management technologies in a particular orchard. There is a description of the basic rules for getting a grant contribution in the field of landscaping. This part deals with landscape assessment including a proposal for a potential increase and protection of the landscape in the area.

Identification and conservation of landscape with significant cultural -historical values and nature values: nature park Melechov

This bachelor thesis is focused on the identification of cultural-historical and nature values in the chosen area of nature park Melechov. The aim of this work is to specify the values of the area and to compare, using old maps, found values in the past and in the present. The aim is also to evaluate the current state of the present phenomena, temporary protection, risks, and threats concerning the phenomena. Regional planning documents of villages in the area of nature park Melechov will be included as well, with respect to the protection of the individual phenomena. In case of an insufficient protection a new, better protection of cultural-historical values of the landscape will be proposed. In the first part, the attention is put on theoretical terms based on the literature regarding this topic and the second part contains results which were obtained mostly from the field research. The results should be general and applicable to areas with similar problems.

Posouzení analýzy krajinného rázu ve dvou územích s rozdílnou ochranou přírody a krajiny

The diploma thesis deals with the assessment of landscape at two locations. Each one has a different protection of nature and landscape. The first area is part of the natural park called Písecké hory. Second area consists of a cadastral area of Horní Ostrovec, in which part there is declared a natural monument called V Obouch. The practical part contains the characteristics of the landscape, determining of the indicators of natural values presence, cultural and historical characteristics and determination of expression, important and valuable landscape characteristics. Based on these characteristics the differences in monitored areas were evaluated and concrete proposals how to increase the value of the landscape were set out.

Calculation of the size of the surface area of deciduous trees and their potential for eventual use in a forensic-expert practice

Calculation of the surface area of above ground parts of the tree of chosen species individuals (oak, ash, small-leaved lime) was based on a set of data measured in a flood plain forest in Lednice in southern Moravia. The basic principle is to convert volume values of the tree skeleton (stem, branches) in thickness classes into the size of the area. There was reviewed the importance of these parameters in relation to forensic ecotechnique. In particular, there was assessed usefulness of results for determine functions of trees in terms of allometric relationships (e.g. cambium area in relation to base), importance of the size of bark area to capture dust particles, water interception or absorption of noise.

Analysis of selected judicial decisions in the field of landscape character

The paper deals with analysis of selected judicial decisions in the field of landscape character and its legal aspects. Special attention has been paid to decisions of Supreme Administrative Court which significantly affect the application of law. Landscape character is subject of litigation quite often, especially because of absence of implementing decree to protect landscape and broad definition of the term in relevant legislation. Analyzed decisions relate mainly to possibility of using expert opinions for landscape character assessment, as well as the absence of implementing decree, evaluation of economics benefits of intentions, statement of nature protection authority in construction proceedings etc.
