This diploma thesis deals with financial analysis of EUREST Company which provides contract catering in Slovakia. The goal of this thesis is to consider the financial situation and financial health of this company. This goal is reached by financial statements analysis, common indexes, using models for predicting bankruptcy or rating financial health, and by comparison with a company providing the same type of services in Czech market.

I have followed the theme financial analysis in my theses. The first part focuses on the theory -- what the principle of financial analysis is, what it is used for, who uses it and description of particular methods used when talking about financial analysis. I have applied theoretical knowledge to the practice -- I have applied the financial analysis by company Papouch s.r.o. This practical part includes analysis of the accounting statement, analysis of ratios, as well as calculation of non-financial indexes and application of models of solvency and bankruptcy of this company. I have reviewed the financial situation of company Papouch s.r.o. at the end of my theses.

Its goal is to demonstrate appropriate methods of financial analysis, to apply them to a specific company and to interpret the results. The goal will be achieved through methods like analysis of financial statements, calculation of various financial ratios and ultimately bankruptcy model and analysis of financial health of the company.

This Bachelor Thesis deals with financial analysis of the company. Theoretical part discusses the purpose of financial analysis and its meaning for different groups of users. It is focused on the basic sources of the information for financial analysis that means financial statements and further it is concerned with financial analysis methods when the emphasis is on the financial ratios. Practical part contains financial statement analysis of the concrete company which is based on knowledge mentioned in theoretical part of this work.

Content of this bachelor thesis is the financial analysis of Czech Airlines company. Aim is to complexly assess financial health of the company during 2003 - 2007. The work presents the strengths and weaknesses of the company and tries to propose improvements. The main resorces are public free data. Therefore it is an external analysis. All the theoretical lines in the methodological part are used in the practical part consisting of a financial statements analysis, index analysis, creditworthy and bankrupt models, economic value added and company inter-comparison. The conclusion summarizes all findings and outlines the future progress.

Finanční analýza společnosti Zentiva, a.s.

V rámci analýzy je zhodnocena finanční kondice společnosti Zentiva, a.s. v letech 2002 až 2005. Práce používá standardní analytické postupy jako například horizontální a vertikální analýzu účetních výkazů, analýzu pracovního kapitálu, analýzu poměrových ukazatelů, paralelních soustav ukazatelů a jiné. S pomocí výstupů těchto dílčích analýz dochází k identifikaci a zhodnocení jednotlivých oblastí fungování podniku a vyvození příslušných závěrů o stavu zkoumaného subjektu.

K hodnocení používá horizontální a vertikální analýzu účetních výkazů, poměrovou analýzu vybraných ukazatelů, analýzu pracovního kapitálu, zhodnocení pravidel financování, Du Pont rozklad, Kralickův rychlý test, Altmanův index důvěryhodnosti a Grunwaldův index bonity. V závěru je zhodnocena finanční situace analyzované společnosti a zváženy její silné a slabé stránky
