The Journal Pravo lidu 1945-1948:Hopes,Aims and Tattered Ideals

The daily Právo lidu (Peoples' Rights), a paper of the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Party (ČSSD), started to be published 12 of May 1945, immediately after a forced break during the Second World War. However, its renewed edition did not last much longer than mere three years. After the Social Democratic Party merged with the Communist Party the newspaper was closed, or more precisely "diverted" under the auspices of Rudé právo (Red right), the central organ of the Communist Party. My aim in writing this thesis is a study of this period as such, its presentation on the pages of Právo lidu, or a presentation of some major historical events on the pages of the diary and the form of the paper itself. The work is therefore divided into two main parts. The first is a theoretical introduction describing pivotal moments in the development of post-war Czechoslovakia, where I am focusing on the description of the aspects that shaped the period, formed the internal political situation and directed the former Czechoslovakia into the Soviet Union's sphere of influence. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the very analysis of the diary in the years 1945 - 1948, its form, its way of distributing the information and describing certain political moments, as well as the anchorage of the daily in party structures. Czech newspapers in Carlsbad after year 1945

The subject of this dissertation is an analysis of the newspaper Karlovy Vary National newspapers from its inception, until its post-war closure. In each charter. Part of the work is an analysis of another two local titles - the weekly papers - Budovatel and Jednota. In the dissertation. I also examine to Czech-German relations and the beginning of the Czechs and Germans co-existing in the region, from a time around end of the 12th century, and until the beginning of the Second World War and post-war organization of a city Karlovy Vary.

The Liberation of Pilsen 1945 in Photography

This bachelor thesis deals with liberation of Pilsen in May 1945 by american army in photography. The aim of this thesis is finding and collecting archival materials and placing them in a historical-political context. Communist regime changed the portrayal of historical events and directly influenced the amount of exisiting photographs, documents and lives of those who created them. Important part of this bachelor thesis is working with those archival materials – particularly with photographs capturing arrival of Americans and their stay in Czechoslovakia at the end of WW2. Both professional and amateur photographers created valuable photographs as they witnessed the liberation of Pilsen. These photographs became in spite of communist propaganda a clear evidence that Pilsen was liberated by american army.

The liberation of region of Klatovy in May 1945

The thesis deals with the end of the Second World War in the inland part and in the border part of region of Klatovy in the pre-war and in the present area. At first the political situation after the Munich diktat is described and region`s administration during the Second World War is described brief. Thesis is includes the most infamous phenomena of German{\crq}s occupation of Czechoslovakia, namely final solution of Jews and Nazi crimes. Next part of thesis is focused on events prior to the liberation in May 1945 and activities of rebellious groups and guerilla detachments and activities of sky hogs. Then thesis deals with wartime and with American army in this region. The liberation of this region is painted through notes in chronicles and notes from interview witnesses. Last part of thesis is focused on post-war period, namely restoration of administration of this region and transfer of Germans from the border part of the region of Klatovy.

Český Rudolec in 20th century

Diploma-work themed {\clqq}Český Rudolec in the 20th century`` is basically dedicated to the commune of Český Rudolec, its neigbourhoods and events, that influenced its life. Diploma-work starts with brief historical overview of development of Český Rudolec from it´s beginnings till the start of 20th century. The era of years 1900 {--} 1918 and the age of the {\clqq}first Czechoslovak republic`` follows. Focus of this diploma-work rests on description of event in 30s and 40s of the 20th century. Main attention is paid to events of 1938 and consecutive germanic occupation of Czech border regions, furthermore to the year 1945, end of the war, along with serious theme of displacement of residents with German nationality and consecutive re-settlement of commune. Next chapter is dedicated to years 1948 {--} 1989 and to development after year 1989. Following chapters of diploma-work are dedicated to important personalities of cummune and its region, to fates of Jewish residents, sights, especially to the castle, and to schools in Český Rudolec. There are appendixes at the end of diploma-work, containing mainly contemporary photos and postcards for illustration and futher refinements of the diploma-work. This diploma-work results from study of national and regional literature and conterporary sources (archive materials, communal chronicle, memories of eyewitnesses).

Czechoslovak economical progress in years 1945 - 1948

This diploma work is concerned with the analysis of Czechoslovak economy in years 1945 -- 1947, where is focusing on the most important economical and political revisions and their relation to the transition of the democratic society of Czechoslovakia to the socialistic society. This period represent very important part of Czechoslovak history that merit particular attention. With the analysis of chosen economical revisions it would like to come to the answer on the question, whether the process of socialization of Czechoslovak society started in 1948 or in the period of years 1945 - 1947. The diploma work is analyzing the most important problems of that period and trying to advert to different possibilities of the economical and political process. The goal of the work is not a deep assay of revisions but just the fact of connectivity of these revisions to the transition of the whole Czechoslovak society.
