This is more concerned of palliative care and the care of the dying, where the goal is no longer the cure of the disease, but the treatment of pain, the symptoms of the disease and the accompaniment to a reconciled departure from this world. My work deals with these questions in more detail and clarifies which spiritual approach is possible to calm the patient through believe and how it is possible to mature spiritually even in unmanageable moments.

KOUBKOVÁ, Michaela
My Bachelor thesis addresses the topic of cooperation between retirement homes and families of elderly people, since the demographic aging represents a world-wide issue associated with the increased aging of population. The thesis aims to determine which forms of cooperation with families of elderly people are used by selected retirement homes in the South-Bohemian Region, and to specify the forms of cooperation in terms of efficiency, perspectives and current options implemented by retirement homes. The sectional goals of this thesis are to determine whether the retirement homes consider the cooperation with the families of elderly people as important for the purposes of providing comprehensive care and whether the elderly people are satisfied with the manner in which the institution cooperates with their family. The quantitative manner of research was used for the purposes of implementing the survey, while being performed via questionnaire surveys in selected retirement homes in the South-Bohemian Region. Thereupon, the secondary analysis of data was compiled in the Microsoft Office Excel 2007. The outcomes of the thesis may be used by retirement homes for the purposes of improving the quality of their services. Moreover, the retirement homes may also clarify whether the elderly people are satisfied with the particular cooperation between the family and the institution. The questionnaire surveys uncovered that the retirement homes consider the cooperation with the families of elderly people to be important for the purposes of providing their clients with comprehensive care and that the elderly people are usually satisfied with the cooperation between their families and the retirement home. The Expulsion of Germans from Přebuz and the Transformation of the Town in the Postwar Period
Valentová, Hana ; Čechurová, Jana (advisor) ; Andrš, Pavel (referee)
To this day, the expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia after the Second World War can be counted among controversies in the history of Central Europe. Until 1989, this topic was a grey zone in our historiography. Naturally it was influenced by the regime at that time, whose collapse resulted in a research boom. At the same time, questions about the adequacy of the deportations arose. To this day, answers to these questions remain quite different. It often depends on where the response comes from. It is important to realize that the deportations greatly affected the lives of ordinary people. This thesis deals with the expulsion of Germans from Přebuz and the subsequent development of the town in the postwar period. In order to give a complete picture of the state of affairs in Přebuz before the deportations, one part will also be dedicated to the historical development and the population of the town since its founding until the end of the Second World War. The thesis deals with the German population in the town in the period between 1945 and 1989, which was not viewed sfavourably at that time. The consequences of the expulsion of Germans on the town itself, namely its depopulation and attempts at populating it again, are also taken into consideration. Attention will also be paid to the so called...
The First Decade of the Existence of the Federal Republic of Germany as Seen Through the Eyes of the Czechoslovak Military Mission to the Allied Control Council in Germany - The Development of the Problem from the Second World War to 1958
Fousek, Pavel ; Pešta, Mikuláš (advisor) ; Horčička, Václav (referee)
The period of more than ten years after the end of the Second World War is characterised by revolutionary changes that led to the emergence of new power formations. After the Second World War, the Cold War divided Europe and the world into two antagonistic camps - the West represented by the United States of America and the East led by the Soviet Union. The new balance of power also had a major impact on Czechoslovak-West German relations. The complexity of this relationship was due not only to the historical context itself, with its painful wartime experiences, but also to the fact that the Federal Republic of Germany had from the outset sought integration into Western structures, while the Czechoslovak Republic was transformed after February 1948 into part of the so-called Eastern bloc. The diploma thesis focuses on how the Czechoslovak Military Mission, which operated in West Berlin from the second half of the 1940s in the role of Czechoslovak diplomatic and consular representation, reflected Czechoslovak-West German relations. The aim of this thesis was to find out how this military mission interpreted the events in the Federal Republic of Germany in the period from 1949 to 1958 in terms of three key points - the issue of forcibly displaced people, especially the so-called Sudeten Germans, the...
