Comparison of spirometric instruments' precision
Chmelíková, Lucie ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Slávik, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with pulmonary testing with emphasis to spirometry. In the first part is introduced and described pulmonary system and its attributes. There is a clear and complete list of pulmonary characteristics and parameters. It contains integrated summary of principles that are used for pulmonary measurement devices. First part is followed by description of created virtual device using LabVIEW programming. Simple meter of lung volumes can easily create spirometric curve and automatically evaluate desired values of volume. Program is further enhanced with optional archiving of measured spirometric curve. The last part of this thesis uses statistic testing for deciding of validity or invalidity of hypothesis. By statistic testing of hypothesis we are gaining and expanding basic knowledge about spirometric devices.
Contingency table analysis from questionnaire survey data of drivers
Velacková, Barbora ; Šulc, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Pecáková, Iva (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the contingency table analysis from questionnaire survey data of drivers. The data were obtained from the agency Data Collect s.r.o., which conducted the survey in 2014. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the behaviour of drivers and their habits, which could increase the risk of accidents. The thesis is divided into two main parts; in the first one, methods of contingency table analysis are described; in the second one, the presented analyses are applied to the survey data. Firstly, the behaviour of single and young drivers is analysed, then the differences between men and women drivers. Calculations were made using the software SPSS and MS Excel, in which all the graphs and tables were made.
Power analysis
Král, Ondřej ; Malá, Ivana (advisor) ; Bílková, Diana (referee)
This thesis examines the issues of analysis of statistical power of a test. It introduces a subject of hypotheses testing which is closely related. The goal is to expose the effect of parameters' alteration on the power test size. By using an application on examples, the thesis graphically illustrates the differences caused by the parameters' alteration. The results show how is the power of a test influenced by the effect of type one error, type two error, the number of observations, the formulation of alternative hypothesis and effect size on test power. The thesis further elaborates on effect size forms. In conclusion, all the explained theories are tested by an example that illustrates the size, which is achieved by changing the parameter.
Hypothesis testing in marketing research
Cihlář, Martin ; Vild, Jiří (advisor) ; Stecenková, Marina (referee)
My thesis deals with hypothetical tests in marketing research that are used mainly for evaluating survey research. At the beginning of the thesis I shortly describe the marketing research and it's process. In the next chapter I deal with data and their editing for analysis, afterwards in the third chapter I explain basic hypothesis descriptions. In this chapter examples, that are calculated either without software or with the SPSS version 18. In case I use the SPSS program I will be described the input process.
Statistical survey of injuries in childhood
Suchopár, Jan ; Malá, Ivana (advisor) ; Sobíšek, Lukáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of injuries in childhood. Data we obtained through a questionnaire survey of primary school pupils and pediatric surgeries. Thesis is divided into five parts. The first part describes the causes of injuries. Statistical methods are described in the second part. The third part focuses on methods of data collection and the creation of the questionnaire. The data are processed in the fourth and in the fifth part. The goal is to verify the theory of frequency of injuries in dependence on age, sex and activities of a child using statistical methods. The conclusion summarizes the results of each survey.
Transformace finančních dat určených pro dynamické rozhodování
Chudoba, M. ; Jirsa, Ladislav
In the presented work we are introduced to the problem of optimal decision making while dealing on the exchange with so-called "financial futures", i.e. time financial transaction. This task is transferred into the simplified mathematical model, which is solvable using Bayesian estimation methods. Financial data are modelled by auto-regressive model with normal noise, because the tools, which are exploited for prediction of the price on the market and which assume normal noise, have been already developed. The main goal of this work is the comparison of the efficiency of various transformations on input data, so that their noise had normal distribution, therefore the price prediction was as accurate as possible. The applicable algorithm is programmed in Matlab; the presentation of achieved results forms the final part of this thesis.
Statistics and sportsbook
Schatral, Jan ; Marek, Luboš (advisor) ; Mazouch, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes the history and fundamental terminology of sportsbook. In theoretical part it describes how to become successful bookmaker and explains specific procedures. In practical part are these procedures applied to real outputs and there's given a solution how to process analysis of sportsbook on the rebound. There are further analysed the lottery and betting games as a complex unit, in which it's finding specific trend and it also deals with the return rate in single games. The last part of the thesis describes frequency testing of relative hypotheses, which are based on favorite betting analysis. During this testing there is compared this frequency in individual seasons and also in a single season.
Analysis of chosen factors influencing the decision about educational level in the Czech Republic
Vaňková, Radka ; Bolcha, Peter (advisor) ; Bydžovský, Jiří (referee)
The graduates of universities in most cases will have better future than the graduates of lower levels of education not only in terms of higher wages, but also social status in broader sense. In spite of this not all graduates of secondary education choose to continue in tertiary education. That is why this bachelor work deals with chosen factors, that could have the impact on the individual's choice about tertiary educational level. Theoretical part mainly stands upon the publications and papers of Gary S. Becker and Jacob Mincer, on the human capital analysis and also on the documents, annual reports and data of OECD and Czech Statistical Office. For purposes of empirical check we use the data from the Czech Republic. To answer our question we use the method of regression analysis and the test of hypothesis about equality of two mean values. The goal of this paper was to find out if and how the chosen variables influence the individual's decision to graduate the tertiary education mentioned above, and to interpret measured outcomes in the context of the relevant theories. In the Czech Republic setting we have not found evidence that exogenous variables have significant impact on endogenous variable (even thought in some foreign papers this impact was evidence). However some outcomes led to interesting findings and showed possible factors entering to human decisions.
