Systém pre zber a vizualizáciu údajov zo zariadení sieťovej infraštruktúry
Siroťák, Ondrej
This bachelor thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a system for collecting, storing and visualizing data from network devices at Mendel University in Brno. The introductory part deals with the issue of monitoring network devices. In the next part of the thesis, available monitoring systems are analyzed, which serve as a basis for the design of the proposed solution. At the end of the thesis, the implementation and testing of the proposed system is demonstrated.
Multimedia transmissions in IP networks
Kejík, Tomáš ; Slavíček, Karel (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
The topic of the master’s thesis is "Multimedia transmissions in IP networks". The goal of the thesis was to perform a theoretical analysis of multimedia transmissions in IP networks and to create a basic test set for generating and measuring network traffic. The theoretical part is devoted to the basic types of IP video transmission and the methods of transmitting in IP networks. Furthermore, protocols for controlling or distributing multimedia content are described. The practical part deals with creating the script written in the Bash language. The test script contains a set of functions that are created by different network tools. A Bash installation script has been created to install all the necessary tools automatically and conveniently. In order to generate multimedia and data traffic, the vlc and nc commands were used. The multimedia data editing was handled by the ffmpeg tool and to graphically display the measured data the smag and youplot tools were used. Additionally, the efficiency of the selected compression formats depending on the playback speed of the Raspberry Pi 4B single-board computer was also compared.
Rozšíření kolektoru Ipfixcol2 o modul pro export dat do Apache Kafka
ZEMAN, Ondřej
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to construct the output plugin for collector IPFIXcol2 made by the CESNET company and to describe this construction. The output plugin can process data in the IPFIX format and convert it into JSON format for further export to Apache Kafka. This plugin uses the multithread message procession to reach the maximal permeability. The thesis includes the comparison of this plugin with the plugin made by CESNET and the parallel solution PMACCT.
Information Fusion for Classification of Network Devices
Sedláček, Ondřej ; Tisovčík, Peter (referee) ; Žádník, Martin (advisor)
This work is focused on solving information fusion when dealing with multiple data sources in computer network monitoring. A solution built on the concept of classification rules configured by experts is presented. Configuration is simplified using a designated configuration language interpreted by the solution. The classification rules enable coverage of diverse types of data. The result is given as a label from specified taxonomy. Using a taxonomy maintains the different levels of detail between the data sources, even in the output label. The solution also uses the Dempster-Schafer theory for merging labels from different sources into a single output label. Results of experiments show that information fusion in this context does increase the accuracy of device classification. A process of rule optimization was developed based on testing and experiments with a dataset from a real network. The accuracy was increased by 19 % compared to the original solution using this process.
Dataset for Classification of Network Devices Using Machine Learning
Eis, Pavel ; Tisovčík, Peter (referee) ; Žádník, Martin (advisor)
Automatic classification of devices in computer network can be used for detection of anomalies in a network and also it enables application of security policies per device type. The key to creating a device classifier is a quality data set, the public availability of which is low and the creation of a new data set is difficult. The aim of this work is to create a tool, that will enable automated annotation of the data set of network devices and to create a classifier of network devices that uses only basic data from network flows. The result of this work is a modular tool providing automated annotation of network devices using system ADiCT of Cesnet's association, search engines Shodan and Censys, information from PassiveDNS, TOR, WhoIs, geolocation database and information from blacklists. Based on the annotated data set are created several classifiers that classify network devices according to the services they use. The results of the work not only significantly simplify the process of creating new data sets of network devices, but also show a non-invasive approach to the classification of network devices.
Reportovací nástroj pre monitorovanie stavu energetickej siete v reálnom čase
Poľakovský, Michal
The goal of this diploma thesis is to develop a tool for monitoring electricity grid state in real-time. The theoretical part of the thesis covers real-time power grid monitoring and reporting knowledge, solutions and standards currently existing on the market and answers questions about what, how and why it should be monitored. This thesis describes TSCNET as electricity grid coordinator in Central Europe and Unicorn Systems and its current solutions for this industry. Also, modern approaches for development of the real-time BI are mentioned. Customised solution for the customer is presented. Chapter Material and methods introduces multiple tools used for the development of such a tool – Pentaho, JMS, MOM, AMICA, RIS, Vue etc. BPMN is used for ETL process modelling. Results describe the tool implementation based on the application integration principles, available solutions mentioned in methods part of this thesis and feasibility study. In the next part, physical model is created, communication interface is set, ETL diagrams are provided and all is implemented to generate CSV file output with grid state data. In addition, presentation layer is developed using Vue, NodeJS and client-server sockets. This layer visualises real-time tables containing grid state contingency and load-flow analysis results and also allows managers to regulate the newly implemented tool. Even though this tool presented in this thesis is deeply customised and developed for business processes of a specific company, it still can be the clue for further research of the real-time solutions and tools.
Graphical Visualization of Network Traffic Geographical Data
Kachlík, Jakub ; Holkovič, Martin (referee) ; Hynek, Jiří (advisor)
During ongoing Internet attacks is important to find out as much information about the attacker as possible and to pass this information clearly to the network administrator. The Flowmon monitoring system is currently able to determine the source destination of sent packets, group them into flows and write them into a table. The data visualized in this way are confusing to create a geographical analysis of the attack. The objective of this work is to create a web information dashboard that will display geographic visualizations of network traffic. It will provide more detailed and easier-to-understand analysis to users of the tools.
SNMP Agent for IoT Devices
Polishchuk, Kateryna ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Matoušek, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a SNMP agent for monitoring IoT devices. Because most IoT devices do not support SNMP, we want to implement a SNMP agent that will collect device information and write the collected data to the values of the variables in the MIB. The procedure will be demonstrated on D-Link devices, as a door sensor and signaling device that communicate with the adapter via the Z-Wave radio signal.
Application for early detection of transmission parameters degradation of microwave units
Bubniak, Milan ; Benedikt, Jan (referee) ; Musil, Petr (advisor)
Radio equipment of microwave links operating in an outdoor environment under the influence of weather conditions is at risk of a link failure or device defect occurrence, as well as their indoor units. This bachelor thesis aims to present the creation of a~network monitoring application capable of timely detection of potential failures, based on analyzing trends in monitored device parameters. The theory section deals with basic characteristics of microwave links and the structure of Simple Network Management Protocol. The practical section describes an application design, including core architecture, as well as a graphical user interface. Several failure detection methods are designed and described. In the next section, practice monitoring results are presended. Furthermore, network traffic and data storage requirements are measured. The conclusion summarizes the results of the application development and outlines it's future with new possible features.
