Doležalová, Kristýna ; Ebelová, Ivana (advisor) ; Smolová, Věra (referee)
This bachelor's thesis concentrates on the Jewish population in Příbram and specifically the Wallenfels family. The first part looks generally into at the development of the city of Příbram from many aspects. The second part is a guide to the history of the local Jewish population from their humble beginnings, throughout the period when they were forced from the mining towns in 1568 until the present day. Special focus has been placed on World War II and its impact on the local Jewish community. The last part is devoted to the Wallenfels family from when the first members arrived in Příbram, throughout the Holocaust in the Second World War and continues with a detailed history of the family up until 2015. The Wallenfels family history is interesting not only because of their story, but also because it typifies Jewish families in Czechoslovakia during that period.

Contaminant binding to colloids in water from a mining/smelting area
Walter, Dominik ; Ettler, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Faimon, Jiří (referee)
This study deals with the association of trace elements with colloids and particles in surface waters and groundwaters of mining and smelting district of Příbram. Colloids were studied using combination of cascade filtration a tangential flow ultrafiltration method to separate individual colloid fractions. Colloids were separated by filtration membranes with nominal pore size 0,8 μm, 0,45 μm, 0,1 μm, 100 kDa, and 5 kDa. Water samples were analyzed using ICP-OES, ICP-MS and HPLC. The data were used for thermodynamic modeling using PHREEQC-2 programme. The results show that major and trace elements can be divided into several groups, based on their abundance in individual size fractions. Most elements dominate in fraction of truly dissolved matter as dissociated ions (< 5 kDa), maximum concentration in colloid fraction is 5-20 % and almost exclusively in fraction 5 kDa - 100 kDa. Gradual decrease of concentration in all fractions at low ionic strength (1,2 mmol/l) was observed in case of elements such as As, Co, Cr, Si, Sb and U. Gradual decrease of concentration in several samples was observed for Cd, Fe, Pb, Mn and Zn. Dominant binding to colloids and particles in surface waters was observed for Fe and Pb, where these fractions accounted for over 90 %. The main factor influencing colloid...
Musical Ensembles in Příbram
BALOUNOVÁ, Michaela
My bachelor thesis consists of the history and present-day of several music ensembles which come from the town of Příbram. In the past, Příbram was one of the main centres of the silver mining industry in the Czech Republic, and in the 20th century it was one of the places of intensive uranium extraction. Mining activities in Příbram had an impact on the town settlement and had created specific circumstances for the local cultural life. The situation has been analogical in the area of Svatá Hora. Despite the fact that mining had been active until the 1990s, Příbram has remained one of the most important cultural centres of the Central Bohemian Region. This is proved by the fact that there are many music ensembles, such as the social and temple orchestras, which are still actively playing. This is what makes the cultural and social life of this town so unique.
Uranium content in macrofungi
Kubrová, Jaroslava ; Borovička, Jan (advisor) ; Řanda, Zdeněk (referee)
In the leading part of this work I presented general information on the kingdom of fungi and fungal ecology focused on marofungi (macromycetes). Furthermore, I reviewed the phenomenon of trace elements accumulation in macrofungal fruit-bodies, particularly focused on uranium and its biogeochemistry. In the experimental part, results of my own research are presented. I determined concentrations of uranium, thorium, silver and lead by use of HR- ICP-MS and ENAA. The macrofungal samples were collected 1/ in clean areas with diverse geological bedrock, 2/ in uranium-polluted area in vicinity of Příbram (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic). Furthermore, selected trace elements were determined also in underlying soils by use of the both analytical methods. For investigation of trace elements mobility, the BCR sequential extraction was applied.
Impact of selected forms of tourism on the development of the town of Příbram
Langová, Anna ; Vágner, Jiří (advisor) ; Váně, Petr (referee)
This study deals with tourism in the town of Příbram. Its objective was to determine whether the development of Pribram is affected by tourism, particularly mining and religious tourism, whether religious and mining tourism are dominant forms of tourism and what are the benefits and future potential of mining and religious tourism to the town of Příbram. Another objective of the study was to observe possibilities of coordination in offer and promotion. To achieve these objectives, the study of literature, methods of questionnaire survey and structured interview were used. Results of the survey confirmed the influence of tourism in urban development, which has two dominant forms - religious and mining tourism. The future potential for the city is great because the offer and promotion are still improving. Keywords: Příbram, mining tourism, religious tourism, Holy Mountain, Mining museum

The Way of Spending Free Time of Seniors Living in the Home Environment of Pribram
RYBANSKÁ, Monika
My bachelor´s thesis focuses on how seniors living in Příbram spend their free time. The theoretical part of my work is divided into six parts. The first part is about the age and aging. The second one is about the changes associated with aging. The next part is devoted to the age demography. The fourth part describes the ageism problems. The fifth one is about the quality of pensioners´ live. The last sixth part describes the pensioners´ free time and their living style. In this sixth part there are chapters where you can find out more about the active aging of old people and their education in the Czech Republic. The goal of my thesis is to find out how the elderly spend their free time in Příbram district. Do they use offered free-time activities? Are they informed about the activities? Do they themselves look up the information about the possible activities for them? Or do they just wait for some tips from other people or the rest of their family? The next question is: Who is more active? The men or women? And who has more possibilities to be active in their free time old people living in the town or old people living in the villages? I have used the quantitative survey to check up my theory. I have used a structured questionnaire or a structured interview in some cases. According to the results the hypothesis about how elder men and women spend their free time was disproved. Based on the results women live more active in their free time than men. The next theory was confirmed. Elderly living in the town have more possibilities to spend thein free time actively. The survey shows that old women spend their free time more active than old men. And elderly in the town spend their free time more active than elderly in the villages.
