Křesadlová, Václava ; HANČIL, Jan (advisor) ; CHRZ, Vladimír (referee)
In my dissertation, I try to reflect my own experiences with application of authorial approach to acting in therapeutic community for drug addicts. I work as a therapist for twelve years in therapeutic community Magdaléna. I guarantee nonverbal technique program and I lead a theatre project once a year periodically. My dissertation is divided to two main parts. First I focus on questions about authorial acting and its pedagogics. I try to explain specifics that are brought by authorial approach to acting. I also describe acting with the inner partner and drama propaedeutic based on free playing and collective improvisation. These dramatic experiments help participants during their own building of psychosomatic condition, which is core of studies on Authorial acting and pedagogics department, DAMU in Prague.Second part of my dissertation is dedicated to my own work with drug addicts. I try to describe problems of therapy in community, especially the questions connected with dramatic expression of the clients. As I told before, I lead nonverbal technique program in Magdaléna community and I created my own conception of such program and it is described enough in my dissertation. I also try to explain drama projects preparations in community and show such cooperation in eleven specific performances we did with different clients during the time. Finally, I reflect relationship between authorial acting and psychotherapy. I perceive the ability to act creatively in direct contact with the others as the most important thing in both cases. That is why I demur at the question of a self-experience in therapy and psychosomatic condition in authorial acting and their mutual relationship.
Jungian shadow archetype in contemporary western cinema
Reich, Michal ; TRAJKOV, Ivo (advisor) ; DOLENSKÝ, Martin (referee)
The main topic of this diploma thesis is the form and content of jungian shadow archetype in contemporary western cinema. In the first chapters it introduces the basic concepts of analytical psychology, which will be used as the principal method for analysis of the selected films (Fight Club, Game, Black Swan, Fisher King). The key concept is that in the core of each story are hidden archetypal contents. According to jungians these are the main force behind emotional response of audience. In films they can be portrayed either directly ? by personification into a film characters whose numinosity is supported by film language ? or indirectly ? by narrative elements and character's functions. The thesis concentrates on both options and analyzes formal means which express psychic nature of the selected film's elements. It defines three phases of ego-shadow relationship which are vaguely similar to three acts structure. It examines shadow archetype's function in the story and in human psychology as well. The results are put into context of jungian concepts. Rather than creating a complex system, the thesis outlines another option how to think about film and film language, which is deeply rooted in human psychology.
Psychological aspects of gambling and realted consequenses
HŮDOVÁ, Veronika
Psychological aspects of gambling and the consequences associated with this problem My thesis deals with psychological aspects of gambling and the consequences associated with this problem. The research was focused on regular casino visitors, but partly also to gamblers who have already decided to treat their addiction. The theoretical part is divided into 8 subchapters, in which basic terms concerning gambling are mentioned, for example: definitions and categorization of the terms gambling and pathological gambling, a list of possible causes of the addiction origination, characteristics of risk groups, individual forms of gambling, the development of addiction, the addiction treatment and the possibility of a social worker intervention. The purpose of my study was to identify and analyze the motives for gambling with regard to the quality of life, with a special attention to social aspects and possibilities of a social worker intervention. In relation to the objective of the thesis four hypotheses were stated, for verification of which quantitative research was used. The interviewing method by means of a structured questionnaire was selected. The analysis of the conclusions enabled to verify the defined hypothesis, which says, that playing of hazardous games has a negative effect to level of psychological mood of the human being. Another stated hypothesis supposing that gambling causes economic, social, family and work problems has not been confirmed by the research. The following hypothesis presuming that a random winning encourages the gamblers to continue playing has been confirmed by a vast majority of respondents. And the last hypothesis, in which is defined the presumption, that the level of life quality is related to grade of pathological gambling, was also confirmed. The results of my work may be used in education or as information for social workers. Based on the findings on the issue of pathological gambling I suggest to focus on prevention of development of this dangerous addiction.
"Psychology of the crowd during crisis situations - how is able to dispose with that one. (Law and psychological aspects.)"
ŠKOLKOVÁ, Věra
Use of scientific knowledge in crowd psychology is low-level presently. Even the individual branches of the Integrated Rescue System (IRS) do not use crowd psychology, in most cases, for dealing with crisis situations. The fundamental factor in understanding crowd psychology is the fact that crowd is a social aggregate and someone{\crq}s presence in a crowd gives rise to new qualities different from those of individuals present in a crowd. The rise of special qualities of a crowd is caused by the feeling of insurmountable power, psychic contagion and suggestibility of its members. The aim of this paper was, apart from others, to explode the myths about crowd qualities that are supported by numerous psychologists and authors of sociology textbooks. The assertion that a crowd is spontaneous, suggestible and emotional has been refuted by scientific research into a crowd and by logic thinking. Crisis situations often threaten human health and lives or, at least, property must be protected and the understanding of crowd psychology may facilitate the elimination of such consequences. That is why education is important, particularly in the branches of the IRS that deal with acute situations, whether it is a demonstration or a natural disaster. The objective should be the ability of each IRS member to become a ``leader of a crowd{\crq}q and to influence the crowd so that the situation could be dealt with wih the least possible impacts on human health and life or property. It is not sufficient to be aware of crowd psychology in light of its psychological aspects. It is important to learn about them in terms of its legal aspects that are inevitable for the present-day society and maintaining public law and order. A crowd that acts under the impression of anonymity must be made aware that this phenomenon is not so explicit any more and that each individual, howbeit part of a crowd, is legally punishable for their behaviour and acting.

Islamic Fundamentalism in Psychological Perspective
HOUSKOVÁ, Martina
This thesis describes the basic psychological elements of Christian fundamentalism, which are at the same time related to the psychology of the Islamic fundamentalism. The second chapter of this thesis deals with the historical consequences of the Islamic fundamentalism, which is vital for the comprehension of the psychological aspect of the problem. We come to the conclusion that the main source of this phenomena is - thanks to the worldwide globalization - the enculturating influence of the West. The final chapter deals with the psychological analysis of the conversion of the individuals to the fundamentalist groups, the role of the leader and the influence these groups have on the individual. We can see the interesting analogy of the fundamentalist movements with the function of the sectarianism.
