Mapping of the Area
Vender, Jaroslav ; Klimešová, Dana (advisor) ; Konopásek, Jakub (referee)
This thesis focuses on the benefits of geographic information systems in the area of plant production. It describes the basic principles of geographic data acquisition and analysis and creation of base maps in ArcMap software version 10.3. Specifically, it simulates the data obtained from the company Agrivep Inc. farming on land near the village of Horoměřice. In solution part of this thesis was used analytical capabilities of geographic information systems, especially integrated analysis of spatial data, such as selection, classification and measurement functions. Using the output functions have been created maps, to present the results of individual analyzes. Execution of the analyzes produced results that yields on individual fields within the last three years do not fluctuate significantly. Further has revealed plots loss due to expanding development. The main contribution of this thesis is to generate arranged maps containing all the necessary information about the various plots and thus shortening their searches in the creation of agro-technical work plans for the coming season.

The report deals with creating applications for Pocket PC, designed to aid with terrain mapping process. Topic falls within the field of geographic information systems (GIS), so the text begins with an analysis of related topics such as GIS itself, processed data characteristics or global positioning systems (GPS). Available handheld platforms are discussed and based on analysis of existing commercial application, the requirements on developed program are set. Description of application architecture and some implementation details follow. The conclusion is devoted to testing functionality by mapping the real geospatial object.
Regression methods for statistical analysis of spatial data
Klimprová, Lucie ; Šerák, Petr (referee) ; Michálek, Jaroslav (advisor)
Kriging techniques are regression methods used for evaluation of continuous spatial processes. If the covariance structure of process is unknown, then it's necessary to estimate it from the data. The first part of this Master's thesis is devoted to description the kriging method and to estimate of a variogram fuction, which describes the covariance structure of considered process. The second part includes the implementation of kriging method in MATLAB for simulated and real data.
Analysis of BI data using geographic information system
Jurečka, Jan ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Vacek, Martin (referee)
The topic of the current Master's thesis is Business Intelligence's data presentation using maps. Through integrating BI and geographic information systems a new discipline is emerging - Location Intelligence. The main goal of this thesis is to highlight and analyse reporting possibilities of the BI tools in the framework of maps. The theoretical part of this paper is dedicated to the foundation and principles of geographic information systems and their intersection with BI, where such field as Location Intelligence is being created. In the practical part of the thesis the BI tools IBM Cognos and Oracle BI are compared. The comparison is based on the following criteria: field of implementation, visualization, map external sources and performance. The evaluating criteria are defined in the beginning of the practical part as well as the evaluation method. The methods of analysis and information collecting were used to extract and revise the knowledge from specific electronic and printed sources in Czech or English. Sources for the practical part origin from my technical knowledge of the field of BI, as well as practical experience with implementation of map sources as a feature of Business Intelligence. Statistical methods are used for evaluation of the criteria results. The practical and theoretical value of the thesis lies in creating the lucid comparison of implementation of the map sources into the selected BI tools and options for reporting or visualization of BI data over map. Apart from comparison the framework for implementation of maps into the selected BI tools is established in the above mentioned work.
Use of maps in reporting
Huňa, Tomáš ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Šedivá, Zuzana (referee)
The main objective of this thesis is to describe working with spatial data and their use in reports. The author focuses mainly on the MS SQL Server 2008 R2 platform. The first part deals with theoretical foundations. Defines the concept of Location Intelligence and describes its history to the present. It also addresses the benefits of Location Intelligence in various sectors and the relationship with Business Intelligence. Further theoretical part goes on to describe both spatial data at a general level and at the level of MS SQL Server 2008 R2. In addition, it described the use of ESRI Shapefile files and work with these files. From the description of spatial data author goes on to use reporting tools in Microsoft - SQL Server Reporting Services and Report Builder. Possible forms of map visualization and a detailed description of the settings are at the end of the theoretical part. The second part is focused on solving practical problems. Tools that are described in the theoretical part, are used to create report examples that the author at the beginning of this section set out to create.
Geographic information systems
Vodička, Ondřej ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Strossa, Petr (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on geographic information systems (GIS). The first part of this thesis introduces GIS, it shows their specifics and emphasizes the significance of standardization in the GIS industry. The second part describes the current situation on the GIS market. The GIS software is divided into different categories depending on the provided functionality and at the same time it is divided into an open source and a commercial part. Based on the categories, individual software products are introduced. The next part individually deals with GIS products offered by the Oracle corporation. The last part provides various possibilities, suggestions and recommendations for designing a GIS architecture using ESRI products.
Geographical IS as Decision Support System

This thesis deals relationship between geographical information systems and decision support systems. Its objective is to verify hypothesis, if it is possible to consider geographical information systems as decision support systems. Opening chapter attends to explanation what is GIS and its usage in practise. Second part is engaged in definition of decision support systems. There are some examples from practise, which help us confirm or refuse the hypothesis, in the last chapter.
SPATIAL DATA IN ORACLE DATABASE
Hanuš, Ondřej ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Krch, David (referee)
More and more applications work with digital geographical data is occurring in the present era. Users of these applications are more and more ambitious and are looking for applications that are able to assist them and give them information as simply as possible. One example of this typical information is: the shortest way to work. There are still more causes when we lose paper data because of natural disasters such as floods or hurricanes and these press us to consider data digitalization, saving and archiving data. This work describes one of the themes that should help us to solve this problem. This theme is storing and the manipulation of geographical data. Geographical data involves the problems of geographical information systems which are very often requested in the present digital era. There are many applications that are able to navigate us to a target on the internet. This problematic is not only about to find the shortest way to a target but also a lot of companies use these applications for planning and developing industrial networks, house development and they are also useful in connection with applications for facility management. Spatial data uses geographical data, and thus it is very easy to imagine that the amount of this data could very quickly reach size in hundreds of terabytes. For this size of data it is necessary to find an appropriate warehouse and mainly efficient management. This functionality is offered by the most extended database ORACLE with Oracle Spatial extension.
