Nuclear Fuel Innovation
Mičian, Peter ; Zeman, Miroslav (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the latest findings about nuclear fuel, especially fuels for pressurized water reactors. The thesis provides an overview of the latest research in the field of fuel cladding, which separates the fuel from coolant. Part is focused on burnable absorbers, which helps to reduce neutron flux during the first year of new fuel assembly. Furthermore, the thesis briefly discusses transmutation fuel cycles. the main empahsis is focused on ATF fuels, in the form of fuels with enhanced thermal conductivity. Develompment in this field could increase the safety and usage of the nuclear energy. The latest part is focused on applications of computational program FEMAXI-6 and analyze its outputs. This program deals with calculations of behavior of high-burnup fuel elements. As data for inputs were used real data from the nuclear power plant Dukovany.
Nanofluids
Cabúk, Matej ; Kárník, Jan (referee) ; Fic, Miloslav (advisor)
Nanomaterials are phenomena of present time in science and technology. Nanofluids are fluids with original characteristics. In this thesis are presented production methods and effect of nanoparticles onto basic thermophysical properties. Applications of nanofluids are attractive. It is used mainly in heat transfer systems, but can be used in wide area. It can increase the performance a efficiency, save energy and money but also rescue human lives.
Using the infrared camera in the measuring technique.
Švestka, Jiří ; Klusáček, Stanislav (referee) ; Bejček, Ludvík (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is a noncontact measurement of thermal characteristics of insulating materials used in the construction. This is a list of selected companies and an overview of basic types of of insulating materials on the market. The aim is to measure and then to compare the thermal properties of selected materials
Basic thermal properties tester
Janečka, Marek ; Buršík, Martin (referee) ; Řezníček, Michal (advisor)
This work deals with metering heat feature of different types unyielding materials with the help of thermodynamic sensor. Here is above all surveyed, whether it is possible by the help of thermodynamic sensor mete heat conductivity and thermal resistance given to materials and subsequently accordingly to this to prove in part determine from measured results about what type of material walks.
Thermoproperties of foundry moulds in dependence on different used foundry sands
Šuráň, Jiří ; Rusín, Karel (referee) ; Cupák, Petr (advisor)
The project elaborated in frame of engineering studies is submitting the study of thermal properties of holding mixtures using different types of sand. Were tested a total of 5 sands: zirkon, ŠH22, chromite, olivine and dunite. Molding compounds were tested for thermal capacity, thermal conductivity and heat accumulation. The highest heat capacity was achieved in dunite sand. The largest heat accumulation had mixture with chromite sand and the best thermal conductivity was found in a mixture with olivine sand.
Verification of thermal-insulation properties of the foil materials
Šot, Petr ; TROJAN,, Karel (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The master´s thesis deals with verification of thermal insulating property of thermoreflection foil insulations. The teoretical part of thesis focuses on the energy demand of buildings, the problems of heat transfer material, terms required for study of thermoreflection thermal insulation and experimental methods for determination of thermal insulating properties of insulators. In the next part the chapter is accompanied by an overview of the most common insulation materials which used in construction. The last part of teoretical part is devoted to the description of thermoreflect formation and analysis of the spread of thermal insulating layers of thermoreflection thermal insulation. The first part of thesis is devoted to the use of thermoreflection therm insulation in buildings. The second part of thesis is devoted to the design, assembly and calibration of the measuring device that uses a method of protected warm chamber. It is declared as a binding method of detection of the heat transfer performance of thermoreflection thermal insulation. The developed measuring device allows detection of endpoints in some direction of propagation of heat. Measurment of heat transfer coefficient devoted the third part of practical part. This part contains a description of the samples used for the measurement of the heat transfer coefficient. In the fourth chapter of the practical part are presented the results of the heat transfer coefficient measurments on selected samples of thermoreflection foil insulation. It is shown the characteristic of heat transfer coefficient of individual samples, the dependence of the heat transfer coefficient on the position of the sample in the measuring device and the recommendation of an appropriate use of sample in the works for the climatic conditions of the Czech republic. The work concludes the chapter of comparing and evaluating of all samples with practical recommendations.
Development of advanced thermal insulating plasters with utilization as sanitation plasters according to WTA standard
Vaněk, Lukáš ; Michálka, Pavel (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the issue thermal insulation plasters which can be applied in the remediation of buildings. The practical part deals with optimizing the composition of thermal insulation plaster-based lightweight aggregate of the foam glass and with possible substitution of cement for other binders with latent hydraulic properties. The resultant plaster should meet the best ratio of mechanical and thermal insulating properties.
Lightweight plasters of modified composition for final surface treatment of ETICS
Neubauerová, Alena ; Ševčík, Milan (referee) ; Bydžovský, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the verification of the parameters of thin lightweight mineral plasters with modified composition. As alternative raw materials are used expanded perlite Vapex, calcined diatomite Celite and powder waste glass of fluorescent lamps. In the theoretical part is summarized knowledge from completed studies dealing with the issue of compensation porous filler component. In the experimental part is tested consistency of fresh mixture, physical-mechanical, sorption and thermal insulating characteristics. It is compared the appearance of the surface and summarized the results of measuring.
Development of a new self-supporting insulation system with respect to dynamic stress
Machala, David ; Frajt, Daniel (referee) ; Drochytka, Rostislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with suggestion of self-supporting insulating system that can be used for objects which insulating is more or less complicated. In this thesis are theoretically processed information about insulation systems while focus is on their structure, composition and principle of operation. Further, there is theoretically designed self-supporting insulating system which is practically built after theoretically composed testing for finding its basic properties. The most appropriate process of realization is formulated at the end after evaluation of the individual tests.
Monitoring the Influence of ceramic bond on the properties of insulating refractory materials
Friček, Jakub ; Kovář,, Pavel (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
Thermal insulating refractories are an integral part of each thermal unit since they reduce its energy consumption. The current phenomenon of saving in both environmental and financial aspects reflects in searching for such possibilities to produce at lower manufacturing and material costs. One of the possible ways is to valorise waste materials. The theoretical part then deals with the division of refractory materials, classification of thermal insulation refractory materials and manufacturing technologies. The experiment is focused on the production of insulating refractory materials made from plastic dough with a possibility of using sawdust and materials made by pressing mixture moist, with a focus on coal bottom ash. Both of these technologies will be tested for the possibility of modification by using mixed clays and of increasing the strength by using clays with lower sintering temperature.
