Flood Control Measures Design in the Březnice Creek Basin
Zárubová, Kamila ; Menšík, Pavel (referee) ; Starý, Miloš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the flood control. In particular, the design of a set of small water reservoirs with retention effect (polders) and their effect on flood flows. The work is divided into two parts, the first part refers to the bachelor thesis. In this thesis is description of the catchment, rainfall-runoff process and the evaluation of the ratio. That was got the necessary information for the design of polders. This is an abbreviated repetition of the contents of the thesis, which is a continuation of this work. The second part deals with the specific design of two reservoirs, including hydro calculations and drawings. For this work were used ArcGIS - ArcMap, Hydrog and to create drawings AutoCAD 2010.

Automated area measurement of precipitation intensity via a network of microwave links
Bubniak, Milan ; Pospíšil, Ondřej (referee) ; Musil, Petr (advisor)
Point-to-point microwave links can be utilized as a large sensor network to measure rainfall. This work deals with the application of this procedure in practice. The first part of the thesis deals with atmospheric precipitation in general and standard methods of their measurement; and the propagation of the microwave signal and various causes of its attenuation, focusing on the attenuation caused by rain and the recommendation ITU-R P.838. This is followed by a state of the art summarization of the measurement of rainfall by microwave links. In the second part of the work, a manual procedure for calculating rainfall from microwave link data is performed, taking wet antenna attenuation into account. Then the creation of a support tool in the C# language is being described, which supply the data to the functions of the RAINLINK rainfall calculation library. Several rainfall calculations that are validated by physical rain gauges are performed. Furthermore, the own Telcorain application for rainfall calculation is created in the Python language, based on the pycomlink library. It has a graphical user interface created in PyQt. Several rainfall calculations validated by rain gauges are performed again, and the results are compared with the RAINLINK library.
Weather Station
Beneděla, Pavel ; Šedivá, Soňa (referee) ; Havlíková, Marie (advisor)
This thesis deals with conception of proposal and implementation of a weather station. Weather station is composed of three main parts which are measuring station, showing station and USB wireless receiving module. Measuring station measures basic meteorologic variables and sends measured variables through wireless communication. Showing station is designed to present measured data with graphics user interface and generate data for a web server.
Measuring of winter precipitation and derivation of precipitation time series using snow water equivalent at selected stations in the Sumava Mts.
Valešová, Petra ; Jeníček, Michal (advisor) ; Míka, Dominik (referee)
The measurement of winter precipitation is an important part of many scientific fields, but the same time there are many uncertainties in the measurement that can arise from inaccuracy or poor calibration of sensors, rain gauges and the influence of environmental factors. Measurement inaccuracies can be caused by the influence of wind, evaporation from heated rain gauges or clogging of the rain gauge. The aim of this work is to process data measured by a heated tipping bucket rain gauge, a classical rain gauge and snow water equivalent sensors from selected stations in the Sumava Mountains. These measured data are subsequently processed and, in case of failures, supplemented with data from other stations according to the given principles. Cumulative precipitation series for the hydrological years 2016 to 2022 are then compiled from the data thus supplemented. Key words: precipitation, snow water equivalent, snow depth, measuring of precipitation
Výnos semen řepky olejné v odlišných agroekologických podmínkách
Krejčířová, Markéta
The aim of this work is to analyse the relationship between the yield of rapeseed and the factors which affect its formative. In the first part of the work is research of literature sources about rapeseed as a crop with a more detailed focus on biotic and abiotic factors influencing its yield. In the practical part are firstly evaluated test stations, from which we get the data on rapeseed yields in the Czech Republic. Their inclusion in the warm or cold region is compared with the evolution of the climate in recent years and a new classification is proposed. Then data on rapeseed yields at these stations during the last twelve years is analysed.
Impacts of global climate change on lichens
Šubrtová, Tereza ; Malíček, Jiří (advisor) ; Peksa, Ondřej (referee)
Lichens, also known as lichenized fungi, are primarily known as excellent indicators of environmental change. Due to climate change, lichens are increasingly being studied for their indication and prediction of individual factors of global climate change. In the first part of this work, individual abiotic factors affecting lichens on a global scale are examined, to understand these factors in all possible environments. The next part of the work focuses on Europe and addresses the history of the development and future prediction of lichen distribution under the influence of climate change. The end of the work is focused on the territory of the Czech Republic and mentions the most affected species in our area. The study of global climate change on lichens is important not only for understanding the effects of environmental changes on organisms but also for proper prioritization of nature protection leading to a halt in the decline of species and their habitats.
The design of an accurate rain gauge with the ability of real-time reading
Jílek, Jiří ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Možný, Radek (advisor)
Rainfall estimation using point-to-point microwave links is a promising way to expand the rain gauge network in the future. However, this opportunistic measurement method is still in the research phase and faces several problems. This paper focuses on one of the problems of this research area, namely the insufficient number of existing rain gauges on the path of the microwave link for the correlation of measured data, by designing a portable rain gauge using data transmission to a remote server using narrowband internet of things (NB-IoT ) technology. To expand its capabilities, the device is also equipped with temperature sensors and a light level sensor. The device is designed with an emphasis on desirable low energy consumption, as it should be able to measure data even without the reach of the electrical network. The outcome of this work is the verification of the functionality of the device in a real environment and the evaluation of its suitability for the intended use case.
Research on Methods for Quantifying Attenuation due to the Wet Antenna Effect
Skoumal, Vladimír ; Dvořák, Radim (referee) ; Bubniak, Milan (advisor)
The topic is the calculation of precipitation using commercial microwave links. Since current techniques in meteorology are not perfect, this way of measurement can be a suitable complement to meteorological instruments. One of the current problems is wet antenna attenuation. This is an excess attenuation that affects the final precipitation calculation. In the first part of the thesis, microwave connections are generally described, how they look, how they are put into operation and their important parameters. Furthermore, this section contains a theoretical analysis of precipitation, various types of measurement of this quantity, and a description of the possibilities of measuring precipitation using microwave links. An important theoretical part is the description of the methods for calculating the WAA or wet antenna attenuation, where the Schleiss, Leijnse and Pastorek methods are described. Furthermore, freely usable libraries are described in the work, which contain functions for calculations of precipitation using microwave links. The last theoretical part describes the Telcorain application, which is used to calculate precipitation at this work. The second part of this work contains the changes made in the code of the Telcorain application. It also contains a comparison of WAA methods for calculating precipitation as well as variously selected sets of microwave links for different rain events and development development of own method for WAA calculation.
