The dissertation entitled "Changes of religiousness in the Ještěd Prose by Karolina Světlá" deals with an analysis of the Ještěd Novels by the author Karolina Světlá. It characterises the depiction of vernacular devoutness in the novels by means of an analysis of the changes in thecharacters' religious consciousness and their subsequent interpretation. The objective of the paper is to shed light on the progressive qualitative changes in Karolina Světlá's works of prose and interpret them against the backdrop of the defined problem area, which is the period concept of devoutness and attitudes to faith as such. The thesis concerns an aspect of folk piety, its forms, folk traditions and customs, and defines their development over the centuries. Further the thesis describes the folk piety in the context of church documents, and its role within the liturgical year. In the practical section, there is a description of specific forms of folk piety in three parishes of Prague 9. The research is based on records in parish chronicles, interviews, journals and other resources. The aim of this thesis is a comparison of forms, development and importance of the folk piety in these parishes. Finally, it considers the importance of folk piety in our society.

Liturgy and popular piety at Marian Shrine. Svatá Hora, Litmanová The presented thesis deals with the liturgy and popular piety, as it is realised at the Marian shrine. By mapping the liturgical life I am looking for answer, whether the relationship between liturgy and popular piety is beneficial and in line with the recommendations contained in the Directory on popular piety and the liturgy of the year 2007. About Marian veneration in the Church testifies a great number of Marian feasts that are celebrated during the liturgical year and the popularity of pilgrimages. The introduction discusses the general phenomenon of pilgrimage, spirituality and the importance of pilgrimages. It is mentioned the role of Mary and her special status in the history of salvation. I also deal with the liturgical life and the popular piety at the place of pilgrimage. There are presented two important shrines - Svatá Hora at Pribram of Latin rite and modern shrine in Slovakia at Litmanová of Byzantine rite with regard to their history and tradition. It covers the liturgical program, both on weekdays and in particular on major pilgrimage feast days in both places. Rigorózní práce s názvem "Proměny religiozity v ještědských prózách Karoliny Světlé" se zabývá rozbory ještědských románů spisovatelky Karoliny Světlé. Prostřednictvím analýzy proměn náboženského vědomí postav a následné interpretace vystihuje charakteristiku podob lidové zbožnosti v prózách. V práci je konfrontován beletristický obraz jednotlivých forem religiozity s reálnými historickými skutečnostmi, kdy v rámci ještědských románů dochází k ověření nejpodstatnějších aspektů náboženských hledisek v "dlouhém" 19. století. Cílem práce je reflektovat vývojové proměny prozaických děl Karoliny Světlé a interpretovat je na pozadí námi stanovených problémových okruhů dobového pojetí zbožnosti a přístupů k samotné víře. Life under the shelter of God. Wayside shrines in the 19th century - customs and manifestation of the folk devoutness of that time. The Bachelor thesis focuses on the acts of folk devoutness on the basis of spiritual theology in connection with tangible heritage ? the columns of the crucifixion and some preserved archival material. The text is divided into seven basic chapters. The first chapter deals with the general introduction to the problem, the second chapter briefly outlines the methodology, the third chapter defines the geographical area. The fourth chapter explains the situation of the Catholic Church in the 19th century. The fifth chapter looks into the concept of devoutness in general, the sixth chapter continues with the topic explaining the folk devoutness and concentrates on the spiritualness of the young shortly. The following chapters discuss the pilgrimages in the 18th and 19th century. The seventh chapter supports the links between the tangible heritage and the folk devoutness.
Children´s death and dying in the baroque epoche in Czech countries

This work refers to the questions of dying and death during the baroque epoche and is mainly focused on children?s age. It reflects the view of death and dying, conception of good death, notions of eternal life and the funeral ceremony. Within the context of infant age it ? above all ? inquires into infantile mortality, the connection between breast-feeding and the measure of mortality and the importance of baptism. It appears from demographic research on family and draws attention to the relation between the high measure of natality and mortality. It tries to find out causes of infant mortality ? population undernourishment, absence of medical care, easy spread of contagious diseases, wars and demographic crises, female condition and employment. It also inquires into the parents? attitude towards children and their death, and tries to disclose their intellectual and emotional life, whereto the analysis of memoirs by Alžběta Lidmila from Lisov helps distinctively. In relation to mortality it also doesn?t pass the situation of natural children.
