Verification of nonlinear material models of concrete

Diploma thesis is focused on the description of the parameters of nonlinear material models of concrete, which are implemented in a computational system LS-DYNA, interacting with performance of nonlinear test calculations in system LS-DYNA on selected problems, which are formed mainly by simulations of tests of mechanical and physical properties of concrete in uniaxial compressive and tensile on cylinders with applying different boundary conditions and by simulation of bending slab, with subsequent comparison of some results of test calculations with results of the experiment. The thesis includes creation of appropriate geometric models of selected problems, meshing of these geometric models, description of parameters and application of nonlinear material models of concrete on selected problems, application of loads and boundary conditions on selected problems and performance of nonlinear calculations in a computational system LS-DYNA. Evaluation of results is made on the basis of stress-strain diagrams and load-displacement diagrams based on nonlinear calculations taking into account strain rate effects and on the basis of hysteresis curves based on nonlinear calculations in case of application of cyclic loading on selected problems. Verification of nonlinear material models of concrete is made on the basis of comparison of some results of test calculations with results obtained from the experiment.

The stability of rock walls and slopes are an integral part of professional geotechnical assessment wherever there is a breach of natural or rock mass. Assessment always depends on the expertise and experience in particular industries that report preparation. Performed mostly analytical calculation (classic or using software) or numerically. The best way is to use both methods and compare them. The aim is always best to estimate the behavior of rock mass and to ensure its safety.
Dynamic analysis of structure loaded seismic loads

The purpose of my master’s thesis is the solution steel hall with concrete columns, that is loaded by an earthquake. This simulation program was used RFEM. To calculate was used the spectral and temporal analysis, and that on models of structures with several combinations of materials. The analysis was performed for both the general direction of the earthquake, so for combinations of directions according to standard procedures in EC8.
Analysis of structures with seismic loads in different program systems

This bachelor thesis compares the response of structures with seismic loads in programs AxisVM and RFEM. Simplified method using lateral forces is used for the calculation. The calculations performed by above mentioned programs are also verified by manual calculation in the case of simple examples. Consecutively the displacements of individual nodes of the structure are compared.
Advanced Rendering in OpenSceneGraph Library

This bachelor's thesis presents OpenSceneGraph library and its use with shaders written in OpenGL Shading Language. First of all it presents the basics of GLSL. Next chapter introduces the basics of OpenSceneGraph library. Following chapters are about different shaders. First is vertex displacement mapping, followed by cartooning and the last one is water surface.
Power Factor Controllers for Switch-Mode Power Supllies

The aim of this thesis is to design an active power factor correction (PFC) circuit for correcting a power factor of a switching power supplies. Various possible causes of bad AC mains power factor are discussed. Differences between linear and non-linear loads’ behaviour to AC mains are recognized and discussed. Various passive and active solutions for correcting current displacement and harmonic distortion are reviewed. Boost converter with quasi-resonant switching controlled by Texas Instruments’ UC3855 is chosen for highest total power factor for given power level against other topologies and its high efficiency and lower EMI against traditional boost converter. Various circuit parameters are simulated using PSpice. Complete circuit diagram for an 1kW output power level and worldwide mains voltage compatiblity is designed. After the device prototype was constructed, efficiency measurements were made and measured values are less than expected. This was apparently caused mainly due to absence of saturable reactor and implementation of resistive damping of the quasiresonant circuit’s parasitic resonance. Measured values of power factor are, however, very high and do meet the design expectations.
The interaction of vehicles and road restraint systems

In this thesis I learned to work with the program LS-DYNA. The result of the calculation of the deformation of the concrete barrier, which involved replacing the vehicle at speeds of 80 km / h, 100 km / h and 120 km / h at an angle of 15 ° and 30 °. Calculations were performed and evaluation of important variables.
Residents' Perceptions of Gentrification and Related Changes: a Study of Smíchov and Karlín

Gentrification is an urban process gone global with many permutations and local specifics. This master's thesis analyses how residents are perceiving gentrification in rapidly developing, post- industrial, inner-city neighbourhoods of Prague - Smíchov and Karlín. The thesis is based on the concept of gentrification as planetary phenomenon that is anchored in a post-socialist context of contemporary Prague. The integral process of displacement is understood as direct but also symbolic, as an attachment to one's neighbourhood. Perception, an individual's filter of understanding and dealing with the world, is used to capture nuances, experiences, and feelings. Using interviews, the thesis seeks to answer the following questions using the underutilized perceptions of regular citizens. How are residents perceiving gentrification and the related changes? Where are residents placing gentrification? Are these findings the same in Smíchov and Karlín or are there differences in the perceptions? Gentrification and displacement are palpable urban processes that the respondents perceive as having changed the neighbourhoods in an impactful way. More-than-human cohabitation: gentrification, displacement and belonging Linda Dědková This thesis examines displacement and gentrification, using the example of the department store Karstadt at Hermannplatz in Berlin. The ecofeminist critique of the binary division between nature and culture is central to my argument that gentrification and displacement are influenced by complex natural-cultural processes. The thesis utilizes a combination of ethnographic fieldwork, interviews, and affective reading of historical materials to investigate the historical interlinks between the construction of the Karstadt department store in the 1920s and the present-day situation. I argue that gentrification surpasses the architectural and demographic transformation of a neighborhood and is often rooted in intersectional oppression. Furthermore, displacement encompasses intricate more-than-human relations and processes, such as ways of shopping, and destroys complex local ecologies. Lastly, the agency of materials has a direct influence on the transformation of neighborhoods. The findings demonstrate that non-human agents can play crucial and dynamic roles in the interconnected economic, cultural, and ecological processes that facilitate gentrification. Expulsion of German population from the Znojmo region

The bachelor thesis deals with the relations between Czechs and Germans from 1918 until the end of the Second World War. It is a rough outline of the political developments in the Czech territory that influenced these relations. The thesis focuses on the course of Czech-German relations within the national framework and then moves on to the events in the territory of Znojmo. I have included in my work the memories of Czechs who were expelled from the border region after 1938. As a twist, I presented the fate of two gentlemen of German nationality living in Znojmo until the end of the Second World War. In addition to this, I mention the operation of labour camps in Znojmo and the subsequent transport of German citizens.
