Effect of PWM control of a Laser Diode on Its Characteristics
Folta, Lukáš ; Ing. Jan Látal, Ph.D. (VŠB-TUO) (referee) ; Šťáva, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the measurement of the characteristics of two semiconductor laser diodes (LD) and its automation. The effect of current control method and LD temperature is compared here. The first chapter is devoted to the theoretical basis of the sub-areas of the experiments, a literature review dealing with laser control using pulse width modulation (PWM) is carried out, and the method of realization of the measured experiments is presented. The second chapter first defines the methods of recalculating the measured data and determines their uncertainties. The following are three subsections presenting the results of individual experiments. The first experiment deals with continuous control and the other two deal with pulse control, one using a commercially available laser driver and the other using a switch designed primarily for this work. The conclusion of the work contains a comparison of the measured results, evaluates their usability and suggests possible extensions of this work.

Rozboud, Jakub ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Dvořák, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is devoted to the selection of a solution and subsequent implementation of a semi-automated measuring station for measuring active elements in the FGIC44 circuit. The thesis includes a basic analysis of the construction and wiring of the FGIC44 circuit. Remote control and automation of the instruments was implemented using the Keysight VEE Pro development environment. Microsoft excel was used to record and process the measured data. Four supplied chips were measured using the built measurement workstation and the results are included in the appendices of this paper.
Design of the system for the carbon composite conductive layers of the L-39NG aircraft testing and the optimization of the conductive material
Diplomová práce představuje návrh automatické měřicí stanice sloužící k měření a testování elektrických vlastností kompozitních vzorků vyráběných společností AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE as.
Test Bench for Experimental Analysis of Conductive Composite Materials for Aerospace Applications.
Pham, N. N. ; Leuchter, J. ; Václavík, J.
The paper presents the materials used in aerospace industry and introduces an automated test bench for investigating these materials’ electrical properties. The test bench is also designed to investigate aviation electronic components, especially regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The test bench contains various measuring instruments which are connected to a computer (workstation). The designed program on the computer supervises identifying connected instruments and creating communication channels to those instruments. This program also controls those instruments to conduct required measurement or testing and obtain the measuring results. Instrument control is realized by using Standard Command for Programable Instrument (SCPI) commands. The program is designed in MATLAB development environment and add-on application MATLAB App Designer with toolboxes Instrument Control Toolbox and Signal Processing Toolbox.
Drivers for optical spectral analyzer.
Fišer, Michal ; Pikula, Stanislav (referee) ; Mancl, Vlastimil (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the application for the control of the optical spectrum analyzer Bristol Instruments 771B-NIR. The purpose of the application is to measure the spectrum of optical signal and wavelength. Theoretical knowledge of wavelength and spectrum measurement and the optical spectral analyzers are summarized in the theoretical part. The practical part focused on the realization of measurement application and library of functions that were created in the LabVIEW environment and the SCPI standard commands are used to control the instrument. Both the application and the library of functions are inspired by the factory-supplied NuVIEW interface.
The Hefaistos System
Mancl, Vlastimil
This paper describes functionality and principle of Hefaistos system. This system is fully automated and modular. Its purpose is for measurement of frequency responses of materials and its temperature dependence. Article describes all of the parts of modular measurement system, which main part is control application, programmed in LabVIEW software enviroment. Application is used for synchronization of hardware i.e. synchronization of frequency analyzer with heating chamber. Final aplication is user friendly and offers frequncy measurement with or without heating chamber. Possibilities of Hefaistos system are demonstrated on results of an example measurement.
Wideband 6GHz RF Signal Generator
Mička, Josef ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Urbanec, Tomáš (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is a design of a wideband high frequency generator with an adjustable output amplitude. The generator is based on a frequency synthesizer ADF4355. The power level of an output signal is adjustable by an attenuator HMC1119. The created generator is accesisible trough an user-friendly control panel or by SCPI commands. Frequency synthesis can run in an integer mode or a fractional mode. The output signal has a very low phase noise when it is running in the integer mode.
Programme for line code demonstration
Zelený, Ondřej ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Prokeš, Aleš (advisor)
The goal of this term paper is to implement basic function for generation of the most commonly used line codes, setting parameter of the generator and data transfer from PC to generator. Teoretical part of this paper describes individual line codes and it’s generation rules. Practival part describes implementation of line codes in MATLAB.
The Hefaistos System
Mancl, Vlastimil ; Beneš, Petr (referee) ; Pikula, Stanislav (advisor)
This master's thesis describes functionality and principle of the Hefaistos measurement system, which is fully automated and modular. Its purpose is to measure frequency responses of materials and its temperature dependence. The thesis describes all the necessary parts of the modular measurement system. Main part of this system is the control application programmed in LabVIEW software environment. Another necessary parts are impedance analyzers for acquiring frequency dependencies and heating chambers for heating measured materials. The control application ensures hardware synchronization between impedance analyzers and heating chambers. Together they create the Hefaistos system. Modularity of the system means that a user may choose which instrument combination will be used. The system offers choice between three impedance analyzers Agilent 4294A, Wayne Kerr 6520B and HIOKI 3532 LCR Hi-Tester and two heating chambers AOIP GEMINI 700 LRI and AOIP HYPERION. Possibilities of the Hefaistos system are demonstrated on the results of an example measurement.
