Changes in landscape in the catchment of water-supply reservoirs Švihov and Vír I

This thesis deals with the analysis of landscape changes using the index of change and the index of development in the catchments area of our two key water reservoirs Švihov and Vír I using CORINE Land Cover and LUCC Czechia data from the time of their building to the present, with a particular focus on the landscape changes in particular protection zones. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the reservoirs, the legislative background of water protection and the interaction between water reservoirs, landscape and people. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the concept of landscape and especially with the development of landscape and population in our country from the middle of the 19th century to the present. The importance of the two reservoirs is also described, including their physical-geographic characteristics and the history of the delineation of the protection zones in their catchment areas. In the practical part, the observed time horizons, the selected territorial units and their delimitation within the protection zones are specified in more detail. In the chapter of Results, the observed changes in landscape cover, land use and population are described, both for the entire catchment area and in more detail for the particular protection zones in all the periods studied. Analýza změn struktury krajiny katastrálního území Šardice s využitím digitalizace mapových podkladů

The thesis on "Analysis of changes in the landscape structure of the cadastral area of Šardice with the use of digitization of map data" focuses on the transformation of the area with a great development of the interaction between human and the local landscape. By using the digitization of map data, it was possible to analyze the changes in the area of interest from the beginning of the industrial revolution to the present day on the basis of outputs from ArcGIS Pro software. The analysis shows that the area, which is predominantly agricultural and lacking in diversity, is now rapidly evolving through the implementation of landscape measures.

Water retention in the Úhlavka catchment area

Water retention in the landscape is a very current topic these days. Thanks to a warming climate, we have to deal with hydrological extremes, erosion, or accelerated water runoff. If we choose to improve the retention capacity of the landscape, we can help transform flood waves, slow down runoff, and mitigate soil water erosion. In the agricultural landscape, we solve the mentioned problems by combining near natural measures and technical measures. This master thesis focuses on water retention in the Úhlavka basin, which is located in western Bohemia and forms a tributary of the Mže River. In the theoretical part, the physical-geographic properties of the area of interest and the rainfall-runoff process are characterized. A literature research is also carried out regarding retention, its components, and the factors influencing it. Furthermore, the individual types of measures that can be used to improve the state of retention in the landscape are also listed. The practical part offers a process of choosing a specific area for proposals in the Úhlavka basin. The Olešná basin was chosen, where the majority of the land cover is agricultural and, thanks to its geomorphological properties, it was also included in the list of critical areas. Sport hall and its facilities for the elementary school Hudcova 35, Brno

The task of the diploma thesis is to design a sports hall for a primary school in Brno – Medlánky. This task was preceded by a school project during the winter semester, where the task was to process the development area with the aim of designing an urban structure for the location of the sports hall. The area of the sports hall was to be located at the shortest possible walking distance from the primary school. Next, add additional functions to the structure as appropriate, based on the analyzes performed. The area for the location of the sports hall is currently made up mainly of agricultural land with overgrown greenery. The terrain is slightly sloping and descends from west to east. The territory is defined on the north side by the existing development of buildings, on the east side by a service road and on the west by a park. The aim of the thesis is to design a sports hall with simple operation, so that its independence is preserved even during afternoon/evening operation, e.g. leisure activities of sports clubs. The building has a playing area with a grandstand for spectators, changing rooms with hygienic facilities, a multi-purpose hall, offices for teachers and a bistro. Since the building is located in a predominantly green area, I tried to integrate it into the terrain and merge with the surrounding nature by designing biosolar roofs and green facades. These parts of the living facade are balanced by glazed surfaces, which bring natural light into the building and create ideal climatic conditions for sports activities. Living facades will create a pleasant climate in the future as well in the case of construction in a development area. The aim of the project is to use and make the entire area more attractive and to connect it with existing buildings.

Landscape transformation in the Malešice-Hostivař industrial area and its surroundings in 1841-2022

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a web application of the landscape transformation in and around the Malešice-Hostivař industrial area. Further objectives are to evaluate the evolution of land use in the study area and to visualize its structure in 1841, 1945, 1966, 1989 and 2022. The theoretical part presents the fundamental bases, methods and data sources which can be used to evaluate the evolution of landscape. An important part of the paper are physical-geographical and socio-economic characteristics and a description of historical development of the area, focusing on individual settlements and the industrial zone. The practical part focuses on land use analysis, maps creation and web application. Results of the land use analysis are summarised in chapter seven of the thesis. Development of socio-economic factors on the development of land use in the selected locality

The main goal of this thesis was to evaluate the development of socio-economic factors depending on the development of land use in the village Chvalšiny. This analysis was carried out over the last thirty years, i.e. from 1991-2021. This time was divided into four periods - 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021. The reason for this division was the availability of data from the Census of Population, Houses and Apartments, which is held every ten years. To determine developmental changes over time, the results of the mentioned Census of Population, Houses and Apartments (socio-economic factors) and archival orthophoto maps (land use) on the ČÚZK geoportal were used, specifically the viewing service WMS - Archival Orthophoto. Individual partial works, connected with the development of final map outputs, took place in the ArcGIS Pro program (a newer version of the ArcMap program). The results of selected socio-economic factors (9) were processed in the form of tables in the Microsoft Excel program. During the practical part, it was found that the municipality of Chvalšiny shows favorable values in the long term in terms of socio-economic indicators, and in the near future it should not face problems that could lead, for example, to the depopulation of the municipality. In terms of land use, there has been a noticeable change when over the years up to 95 % of the original arable land area has been converted to permanent grassland (TTP) and today only 24.6 hectares of arable land can be found in this area. An unambiguous mutual relationship between the development of socio-economic factors and the development of land use, where it would be possible to clearly state that one of the indicators has a clear impact on land use or vice versa, could not be demonstrated in this time period.

Změna struktury půdního fondu ve vybraném regionu

The bachelor thesis deals with the change in the structure of the soil stock in the selected region. The theoretical part pays attention to the causes that cause changes in the territory, the ways of land use both at the national and transnational level. It also mentions general information about the soil stock of the Czech Republic and its potential threats, one of the main ones being the process of urbanization. In the application part, the development of the land fund on the territory of the administrative district of the municipality of Hodonín between 2001 and 2020 is also monitored. The data were provided by the Czech Statistical Office and processed in the form of graphs and cartograms. The results of the work showed changes in all types of land, with the largest changes in agricultural land, arable land, vineyards and other areas. Despite the loss of agricultural land, the area is still agricultural. The low values of the ecological stability coefficient showed that the area is facing high intensity of land use and based on these results, recommendations that could bring about more sustainable land use development were mentioned.

Vývoj a současný stav životního prostředí katastrálního území Brno-Slatina

The bachelor's thesis is devoted to the development and current state of the environment in the cadastral area of Brno-Slatina in the years 2000-2020. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to introduce the issues related to land use in Europe and the Czech Republic and the impact of urbanization on the environment. The necessary data for the elaboration were obtained from the Czech Statistical Office. Data unavailable at the Czech Statistical Office were obtained by measuring from map data in GIS environment. As a result, the develo-pment and evaluation of the structures of land types is presented. The loss of agricultural land is recorded at the expense of built-up areas. The area is also plagued by the problem of lack of water bodies and green spaces, due to which an urban heat island is being cre-ated in the area. Based on the information found, recommendations are depicted which can help in improving the environmental development.

Vliv vegetace na letní teplotní extrémy ve městech hodnocené z pozemních a leteckých dat

This thesis examines the effect of surface types and vegetation types on ambient temperature during summer temperature extremes. The theoretical part targets the topics of remote sensing, electromagnetic radiation, urban and global climate. Within the practical part, 3 areas of interest were selected from aerial hyperspectral data from the territory of the statutory city of České Budějovice, each representing a different part of the city in terms of land use. By means of data analysis, graphs showing the influence of the relative representation of the variant surfaces on the temperature were created using the linear regression method. From the maps of tree species occurring in the parks of the first two areas, the most abundant species were selected and the average temperature within 2 meters of them was examined. The thesis also includes an evaluation of a questionnaire answered by city residents on the topic of preferences and knowledge about the urban green space.
