Biodiversity changes and cultural landscape character changes during the 20th century on model Tišnov catastre
Lacina, Jan
In the example of cadastre of small Moravian town of Tišnov, which developed without influences of significant natural and anthropogenic disturbances, was found that during the 20th century was residential area 5 times enlarged, but number of inhabitants increased just 2,7 times. CA 50 species of plants and 20 species of animal were lost. Landscape character of garden town was also significantly changed.
Perception of small Moravian towns by their inhabitants
Frantál, Bohumil ; Pokluda, František
The paper that is based on the data obtained from the author´s own research focused on the issue of perception and image of the small towns, presents certain established results from questionnaire surveys aimed at analysis of perception of small Moravian towns from the particular point of view of their inhabitants, specifically perception of the town image, evaluation of different environmental and social dimensions of the living space and their changes, analysis of perception of the quality of life, anxiety and future prospects, and classification of the present most significant problems in life of inhabitants of the small towns.
Geological mapping of the Landscape Protected Area Žďárské vrchy Highlands in a scale 1:25 000...
Kirchner, Karel ; Roštínský, Pavel
The report, whose elaboration was the subject of a contract between the Czech Geological Survey and the Institute of Geonics CAS, compiles information on basic morphostructural characteristics of the area of Žďárské vrchy Highland within map sheets of the Basic Map of the Czech Republic in a scale 1:25 000 mentioned above (the sheet Radostín nad Oslavou was situated within the area under study only with its northern part), related to major geomorphological units. Information mentioned were, first, based on a study of available data and archival materials about Žďárské vrchy Highland and, second, on a new field research. An important part of the report constitutes a brief description of interesting geomorphological localities for every map sheet (altogether 38), chosen to involve major geomorphological phenomena and document particular phases of landscape evolution of the given area (included especially structural, fluvial, cryogenous and athropogennic landforms).
Stress-strain behaviour research of rocks under dynamic loading
Petroš, V. ; Bagde, M. N. ; Daněk, T. ; Hofrichterová, L. ; Hudeček, V. ; Michalčík, P. ; Slivka, V. ; Špinka, O. ; Vavro, M. ; Žůrek, P. ; Holub, Karel
The aim of this project was oriented to determination of physical-mechanical characteristics of rocks under dynamic load using laboratory device MTS 816 Rock Test System. The research was drawn to investigation of surrounding rocks properties, i.e. rocks from the rock massif, where anomaleous geomechanical events do occur.
Motivation and methods of using telecommunication technologies by inhabitants of small towns
Kallabová, Eva ; Frantál, Bohumil
The issue of availability and possibility to use the new telecommunication and information technologies is one of the key issues regarding the problems of regional development in the contemporary information society. Mobile phones, facsimiles, computers, internet and other technologies, their currency, method and scope of use as well as the related knowledge and skill represent one of the basic elements thanks to which the Czech Republic should become the integral part of the modern information world as the dynamic, educated and competitive society. The authors, concerned with the problems in their paper based on the data gathered by their own research, are focused on use of the telecommunication and information technologies specifically in relation to the inhabitants of small Moravian towns.
Restructuring of selected industrial corporations in the Ostrava region
Klusáček, Petr
Transformation of metallurgy and heavy engineering is a serious problem significantly affecting the entire Ostrava region. The paper depicts the complexity of the whole transformation process since 1989 on an example of the restructuring and development of two giant steel corporations – Vítkovice Steel and Nová huť. The two companies went through a difficult economic situation in the 1990s, which showed in a significant down-scaling of production and in a massive dismissal of workers.
Great floods in the region of Ostrava - a forgotten natural phenomenon
Munzar, Jan ; Ondráček, Stanislav
Regarding the fact that the time gap between the great floods from the beginning of the 20th century and/or of 1880 and the flood event of 1997 is nearly 100 years and more, the old disasters have been forgotten that are considered as a loss of historical memory in the region of Ostrava.
Temporal changes of selected factors affecting land use (example of ORP Vrchlabí, Vimperk)
Křemenová, G. ; Klapka, Pavel ; Martinát, Stanislav
The article is aimed at the analysis of selected socio-economic faktors affectiong landscape structure changes in two model regions: Vrchlabí and Vimperk. We have chosen population change, population density and ethnicity. We assume that these belong among basic factors affecting cultural landscape of Central Europe. The article also attempts to hint relations between socio-economic factors changes and land use changes.
Computational clusters
Jakl, Ondřej
The contribution deals with clusters of workstations in the context of their employment in parallel processing. It focuses on the nowadays very popular systems based on personal computers (so called Beowulf) and using the Linux operating system. On example of parallel solvers we demostrate that their performance is comparable with that of the much more expensive commercial parallel systems.
Horizontal stress in Czech part of Upper Silesian Basin
Staš, Lubomír ; Kolcun, Alexej ; Šimkovičová, Jarmila ; Souček, Kamil
The results of measurement by hydrofracturing method in the area of Czech part of USB are discussed. The measurements proved some general direction of the primary stress impact: high anisotrophy of horizontal stress, relatively high ratio of horizontal to vertical stresses ((SH+Sh)/Sv÷2). Horizontal stresses in the zones intensely disturbed by mining activity indicate magnitudes corresponding only to effect of overburden load in elastic model of rock mass. Orientation of horizontal stress either corresponds direction of presumed effect of superposition of Carpathian nappes or copiers direction of vicinity tectonic faults usually near of them.
