A Case Study of a Physiotherapeutic Treatment for a Patient with a Diagnosis after Total Hip Replacement

v Abstract Author: Alexandra Supervisor: Mgr. Ilona Title: A case study of a physiotherapeutic treatment for a pacient with a diagnosis after total hip replacement Objectives: Summarization of theoretical and practical knowledge about total hip replacement and to process the case study with this diagnosis. Methods: This thesis consists of two main parts - a theoretical part and special part. The theoretical part includes information of osteoarthrosis with total hip replacement. It describes the structure of the hip joint, defines osteoarthrosis and its risks, indications for the total endoprothesis, different types of hip implants, surgical approaches and pre- and post- rehabilitation processes. The special part contains the case study of pacient after implantation of the total hip endoprothesis. It presents the evaluation of the therapy which started on the fifth day after implantation and ended on the fourteenth day. Results: The short term goals which were specified at beginning of therapy were accomplished. We managed to increase the range of motion at the operated leg, increase muscle strength on weaker muscles, stretched shortened muscles and decreased muscle tone on hypertrofic muscles. Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to gain knowledge about the diagnosis of TEP of the knee joint and the most common indication for this procedure. Furthermore, the aim was to prepare a case report of a patient with this diagnosis and to evaluate the procedures used and the results of the examination Methods:The case study report includes an initial and an initial kinesiological analysis, eight therapeutics units, the objectives of the short- and long-term therapeutic pla and the design of the therapy. The methods used in the examination were those that are part of the knowledge of the bachelor's degree in physiotherapy. Finally, the methods and effect are compare with the literature. Author: Tereza Moravkova Supervisor: PhDr. Lenka Zakova, Ph.D. Title: Case report of physiotherapeutic care of a patient with a diagnosis of knee replacement Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to elaborate a case report of physiotherapeutic care of a patient diagnosed after knee TEP. At the same time, elaboration of the theoretical knowledge of the diagnosis and discussion of its treatment from the perspective of physiotherapy. Methods: I worked on the case report in the period 9.1. - 19.1.2024 at the workplace of CLPA s.r.o. In total, I completed 10 therapies with the patient, the first therapy being the initial kinesiological analysis. In the theoretical part, theoretical information concerning anatomy and kinesiology of the knee joint, osteoarthritis and its treatment, discussion of total knee replacements and the method of surgery are presented. Finally, a look at rehabilitation approaches after knee replacement surgery at the level of Evidence Based Medicine Results: The patient's physiotherapy care was uneventful. During the rehabilitation stay at CLPA, the patient's condition was positively affected. Case Study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient with the after reimplantation of total knee arthroplasty

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to compile a case study of physiotherapeutic care for a patient after reimplantation of total knee arthroplasty. Furthemore, the thesis includes theoretical knowledge about the subsequent rehabilitation. The tesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part focuses on the anatomy of the knee joint, the issue of osteoarthritis, and its diagnosis. The last chapter is dedicated to total knee arthroplasty, its indications and contraindications, conservative and operative treatment, and finally, rehabilitation before and after the surgical procedure. The practical part includes the patient's anamnesis, initial kinesiological analysis, individual therapeutic units, final kinesiological analysis, and the concluding evaluation of the therapy. There was an improvement in the patient's health status during the therapy. The physiotherapy methods used were effective. Michaela Stupková Title: Case study of physiotherapy care for a patient after total knee arthroplasty Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to elaborate theoretical knowledge regarding total knee joint endoprosthesis and discuss its treatment from the prespective of physiotherapy. At the same time, elaborate the course of physiotherapy care for the patient with this diagnosis. Methods: The thesis was divided into a theoretical and a special part. The theoretical part is devoted to information and knowledge about the diagnosis of total knee arthroplasty. In a special part, a case report of physiotherapy care of a selected patient from concurrent professional practice at the Nemocnice Vršovice in Prague was recorded. In a special part, the initial kinesiology examination, the course of 9 therapeutic units with the patient, the final kinesiology examination and finally the effect of the therapy is evaluated. Results: The patient's physiotherapy care was without complications. During 9 therapies, the patient's condition improved. More detailed results of the therapy are written in the chapter entitled evaluation of the effect of the therapy. Title: Case study of physiotherapeutic care for a patient diagnosed with total knee arthroplasty. Aims: The aim of this bachelor thesis is the theoretical elaboration of osteoarthritis issues focusing on the knee joint and the indication for total knee arthroplasty, as well as the processing of a case study of physiotherapeutic care for a patient with this diagnosis and the evaluation of the therapy provided. Methods: The general part was elaborated through a review of theoretical foundations regarding osteoarthritis issues and the indication for total knee arthroplasty. Theoretical aspects covered in detail include the anatomy of the knee joint, definitions of osteoarthritis, its pathokinetic consequences for movement, clinical examination, osteoarthritis treatment, indications for total knee arthroplasty, as well as physiotherapeutic methods and procedures used for this diagnosis. The special part includes a case study of patient M.S. diagnosed with status post-implantation of total knee arthroplasty of the left knee joint. Author: Tadeáš Trousil Title: Physiotherapy care of a patient after total hip arthroplasty Aims: The aim of this thesis is to elaborate basic data concerning total hip arthroplasty followed by a case report of a patient after this procedure. Another aim was to evaluate the physiotherapeutic interventions presented in this case report in terms of their effectiveness. Methods: The general part contains information about anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics and management of osteoarthritis of the hip joint. This is followed by a case report on physiotherapy care of the patient, which includes the initial and output kinesiological analysis, therapy design and therapeutic unit. Finally, an evaluation of the therapy and its results is presented. The concurrent professional practice, during which this work was prepared, took place in the period from 22 January to 16 February 2024 in the facility Poliklinika AGEL Italská. A total of 8 therapeutic units, each lasting 30 minutes, were conducted with the patient. The special part of the bachelor thesis is prepared in order to keep a case report of a patient after knee TEP implantation and to record the effects of selected physiotherapy care procedures. Methods: This bachelor thesis consists of theoretical and special part. The theoretical part deals with a literature search to understand the structure and function of the knee joint from the perspective of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics. The thesis also describes the problem of osteoarthritis and its therapeutic interventions, types of total knee arthroplasty and the surgical procedure for its implantation. The theoretical part in its conclusion focuses on the possibilities of solving the subsequent rehabilitation after knee joint TEP implantation. Kateřina Maršáková Title: Case Study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient after Total Hip Replacement Objectives: The aim of this study was to summarize the theoretical and practical knowledge about total hip arthroplasty and subsequent case report of a patient with this diagnosis. Methods: The thesis consists of two parts, general and special. The general part discusses osteoarthritis and its treatment options, hip alloplasty and rehabilitation related to joint replacement. The special part is presented in the form of a case report of physiotherapeutic care of a patient after total hip arthroplasty. The case report includes medical history, initial kinesiological analysis, short- and long-term therapeutic plan, course of individual therapeutic units, output kinesiological analysis and evaluation of the effect of therapy. Results: The patient's physical condition was improved in many ways and the goals of the short-term physiotherapy plan were met. As a result of the individual therapies, the range of motion and muscle strength of the operated lower limb were increased, the shortened muscles were stretched, reflex changes were eliminated, scar healing was promoted, and the gait stereotype was improved. Irena Novotná Title: Case report of physiotherapy care for a patient after total hip arthroplasty Objective: The aim of this thesis is the theoretical processing of information regarding the diagnosis and creation of a case study of physiotherapeutic care in a patient after the implantation of a total hip arthroplasty. Methods: The theoretical part consists of an introduction to the anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics of the hip joint, basic information on osteoarthritis and its treatment options, total hip arthroplasty, indications for surgery, surgical methods, and finally, I have included physiotherapeutic methods used in rehabilitation after total hip arthroplasty surgery. The special part contains the initial kinesiological examination, individual therapeutic units, the final kinesiological analysis, and an evaluation of the therapy's effect. I have tried to include current EBM findings into the theoretical part and discussion. Results: During eight physiotherapy sessions, the patient experienced positive changes.
