Anisokinetic dust sampling
Šenk, Daniel ; Zlevorová, Tereza (referee) ; Lachman, Jakub (advisor)
The presented thesis deals with the determination of the concentration of dust particles released during the operation of combustion boilers. The accuracy of these measurements can be affected by a number of factors. One of the main factors is the ratio between the gas velocity in the sampling probe and the gas velocity in the pipe. If this ratio is different from 1, we speak of so-called anisokinetic sampling. The CSN standards for the boilers in question prescribe limits for deviations from this value. For automatic biomass boilers, an allowable range is from 0.70 to 1.50. For values within this range, the mass concentrations of dust particles during the combustion of wood and sunflower pellets were determined by manual gravimetric method. The mass concentrations were then converted to relative measurement errors compared to reference values under isokinetic conditions. For the lower limit deviation, a relative measurement error of up to 22.9 % was determined. In the upper range, deviations from the reference values are up to 39.7 %. In this range, an underestimation of the concentration of dust particles occurs; therefore, it would be advisable to consider lowering the upper limit of the permissible isokinetic ratio in the CSN.
Use of third-generation biofuels for energy purposes
Janská, Barbora ; Köbölová, Klaudia (referee) ; Zlevorová, Tereza (advisor)
Algae-based biofuel is currently a very attractive source for future use. This bachelor's thesis covers the whole process of fuel production, from cultivation to the product itself. The first chapter covers the classification of biofuels and attitudes towards algae processing in the Czech Republic and abroad. Next, there are methods of cultivation. The third chapter describes ways of harvest, separation and individual processes of third-generation biofuel production. This work, among other things, includes a comparison of the yield of biofuels from commonly used energetic feedstock with algae.
Photovoltaic system design for a family house
Vrážel, Matěj ; Zlevorová, Tereza (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a suitable photovoltaic system for the selected house. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to an introduction to photovoltaics and the presentation of the photovoltaic system. It is important that the proposed system is not excessive but is designed for the needs of the specific house. When designing the system, the selection of components is justified based on the evaluation of the location and consumption of the house and the subsequently determined annual production of the PV system. In conclusion, an economic assessment with storage options is conducted, and the expected return on investment is displayed.
Design of photovoltaic system configurations for a family house
Prágr, Vojtěch ; Zlevorová, Tereza (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the design of a photovoltaic system for a specific single-family house. During the draft, the house’s energy consumption was processed, and based on this data, three different system configurations were proposed. Two of these configurations have different power outputs and storage capacities, while the third was designed to operate the water heater that the house contains. In the thesis, the proposed systems were evaluated from an economic perspective, considering the initial costs of individual systems, as well as the operation and service expanses. Finally, according to these aspects, the ROIs of individual configurations were determined.
Evaluation of heat sources for a family house
Bábíková, Nikola ; Zlevorová, Tereza (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis, consisting of three parts, focuses on individual heating solutions for a family house. First part presents energy sources for heating of a family house. Heat loss and annual required energy for heating is calculated in the second part. The final part consists of system selection for each individual heating method based on calculated heat loss and their economic evaluation.
Supercritical Steam Boiler
Loucký, Matyáš ; Zlevorová, Tereza (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis is specialized research dealing with the construction of steam boilers focused on modern supercritical steam boilers. It processes an overview of individual concepts of steam boilers and more detailed description of the parts that steam boilers are made of. The next part of thesis is dedicated to the issue related to the operation of boilers capable of working with supercritical steam parametres. Final part deals with the application of this technology in coal–fired power plants.
Effect of sample treatment on biofuel characteristics
Zlevorová, Tereza ; Lachman, Jakub (referee) ; Lisá, Hana (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is experimental solution of the problem focused on the effect of sample treatment on bioful characteristics. The theoretical introduction includes biofuel classification, explanation of each biofuels‘ trait and description of methods used to their determination. It continues with sample preparation with broader focus on milling. The following experimental part examines basic traits of four materials before and after milling on high-speed rotor mill using multiple sieves of varying fineness. The traits were determined using normalised methods. For determination of moisture had been selected gravimetric method. In this thesis, there is described every procedure and following calculations. The results are stated in tables and processed in graphs.
The Effect of Biomass Storage on the Fuels Parameters
Zlevorová, Tereza ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis investigates the effect of storage on the basic properties of fuel. The first part summarises basic knowledge of biomass, its properties, storage methods and related problems. This is followed by an experimental part, which aims to investigate predicted decrease in the calorific value and volatile matter of materials due to spreading degradation. The experiment is based on repeated measuring of the properties of samples stored for thirteen weeks at three different temperatures and moistures. The results are graphs that show a decreasing trend in most cases. They also show differences in the extent and rate of degradation depending on the type of material and the ambient conditions.
