Využití konceptu Partnerství pro místní rozvoj na příkladu Brna

Diploma thesis deals with applying the principles of the concept "Partnership for Local Development" using Brno as an example. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part focuses on explaining the terms region, regional development, public administration, enterprise, town and village marketing, and strategic management. In the practical part there are analyzed results of the marketing research, with the help of which advantages and drawbacks of further development from the viewpoint of Brno inhabitants were investigated. The conclusion of the work is dedicated to suggested measures for improvement of the identified situation.
Factors influencing the financial situation of Ph.D. students in the Czech Republic

Ph.D. students are an integral part of the tertiary education system. Encouragement for doctoral programs and their students is very important because they are the ones who will participate in research projects in the future and they will contribute to society as a whole. The majority of scholarships for Ph.D. students comes from public sources. An important question to be asked is whether the scholarships are sufficient to finance Ph.D. studies and whether there are differences in the amount depending on gender, field of study or region. This thesis aims to answer these questions by applying statistical methods to the results of the survey DOKTORANDI 2014.
Long-term development of indicators of quality of life in developing countries

The aim of this thesis is to find out whether the quality of life in developing countries has increased over the last decades. The thesis is based on own calculations - modeling the trend of time series from the World Bank database - and affects most of the major problems which are specific to developing countries, such us high mortality rates, poverty, corruption and many others. In the first part of the thesis developing countries from three continents are selected, indicators in the field of demography, economics and sociology are characterized and data and methods are described. In the second part the trend of times series of selected indicators is modeled that allows benchmarking in space and time.
