A questionnaire of our own construction fixed for pregnant women was used for the research. The sample of investigation was created by 60 respondents from the 34th to the 40th week of pregnancy. The results of our research make clear that most women want to breast-feed their children. Their decision is supported by the fact that they consider mother's milk to be the best nourishment for a new- born baby. The information concerning breast-feeding is most often obtained from magazines, literature and the courses of pre-natal preparation. The...

CHARLES UNIVERSITY Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Name: Jana Vodičková Title of diploma thesis: Nanofiber drug carriers 1 Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Pavel Doležal, CSc In the theoretical part is mentioned structurally hierarchical division of nanomaterials, characteristics of nonwoven nanotextiles and technology of Nanospider® for production of nonwoven nanofiber mats by electrospining method. A brief description of properties and use of polyurethane including nanofibers is described and contact angle measurement is characterized. The experiment deals with measurement of wettability of composite chitosan-polyurethane nanomembrane. It shows difficult water wettability and low capillarity of tested nanofibrous products. The next part is devoted to measuring the release properties of nanofibrous composite membranes in terms of caffeine release as a model drug. The last part deals with the dissolution of folic acid from non-crosslinked and cross-linked PVA nanofiber membranes. All membranes were provided by Elmarco s.r.o. Liberec in order to measure the liberation profiles of drugs in the screening of pilot plant parameters of electrospining for nanofibering by combinations of different polymers and drugs Key words: Nanospider®, electrospining, polyurethane,...

Vodičková, Jana ; Nováková, Lenka (advisor) ; Jurásková, Dana (referee)
This thesis is focused on education of nursing mothers by a nurse - a lactation consultant. In the introduction of this thesis I am engaging in history of lactation counseling and activities related to support and protection of breastfeeding. I am also mentioning basic procedures in consultancy. Further, the education of a nursing mother in common as well as special or problematic situations are in detail described in the theoretical part. In the empirical part of the thesis I successively defined seven hypotheses related to the lactation consultancy. For their confirmation I designed and completed an extensive research among health care professionals. Three different non-standardised questionnaires were used as the main method for the processing of the empirical part of the diploma thesis. The research was done among lactation consultants across a whole country, among health care professionals at the Gynecology and Obstetrics department of General Teaching Hospital in Prague and District hospital in Havlíčkův Brod. The research took place from 1.12.2005 to 20.2.2006 including a pilot study and the sample was made from 323 respondents. Having processed results I confirmed 5 of these hypotheses and two of them were refuted. Five hypotheses were confirmed to be true by the research: Hypothesis no 1 - a...

In the first part are described terms which are related to these issues. The second part considers qualitative survey, through this survey I would like to find out the sense of needs and information concerning the help for a dying person and his family.
Injury to women in childbirth
VODIČKOVÁ, Jana
My bachelor thesis is focused on various kinds of wounds, diagnostics, treatment and prevention of birth wounds. The theoretical part addresses in particular episiotomy since it is the most frequent wound that has been currently discussed by general public. I describe kinds, indication, treatment, nursing care and prevention of episiotomy. In the practical part I selected a quantitative research. The data were collected by means of an anonymous questionnaire designed for women after spontaneous delivery in puerperal wards in selected hospitals. I set three objectives in my thesis. The first objective was to ascertain the episiotomy rate. The second objective was to ascertain episiotomy healing and the last objective was to reveal awareness of women in respect of episiotomy care. The objectives of the thesis have been fulfilled. The first hypothesis presumed episiotomy in more than a half of the informants. This hypothesis has been confirmed. The second hypothesis presumed episiotomy healing without complications. This hypothesis was also confirmed, showing evidence of a high standard of healthcare. The last hypothesis presumed that the informants had insufficient information about episiotomy care. As the result of a positive response provided by mothers themselves, most of whom stated to be sufficiently informed about episiotomy care, this hypothesis was disproved. My thesis could serve as a suitable study material for students of midwifery. My thesis could also be beneficial for midwives working in puerperal wards and delivery rooms.
