This thesis summarizes information related to the issue of old ecological burdens and contaminated locations, mostly in the Czech Republic. The most common contaminants occurring in soils of the unsaturated zone, sludges and sediments, and available remediaton methods are characterized. Attention is paid to research and development advances in this field. A methodology was developed for collecting data related to applied research and development projects, from the publicly available CEP, RIV and STARFOS databases and results of these projects were compared. It was found that 54 applied research and development projects in the field of remediation of contaminated soils, sludges and sediments were successfully completed in the Czech Republic in 2010-2021 with a total of 2039 results, of which 464 were results of applied research relevant for this study (hereinafter only applied results), which were results of type P (patent), Z (semi-operation/proven technology), F (utility/functional sample), G (prototype/functional sample), H (results reflected in law regulations and standards), N (methodology/specialized map with expert content) and R (software). These projects were supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Industry and...

Kratochvílová, Petra ; Jeníček, Michal (advisor) ; Královec, Václav (referee)
Land cover changes in Ore mountains and their possible impact on rainfall-runoff process Abstract Land cover changes have occurred since the formation of Earth, but increasingly, these changes mainly in anthropogenic characters, a big problem in many places around the world. It is, therefore, necessary to monitor how land cover changes, and its impact on individual natural processes and use these results of studies in preventing or fix possible consequences of these changes. More and more disciplines are, therefore, also examines this issue. This paper deals with the assessment of land cover change and its impact on rainfall- runoff process, focusing mainly on mountain basin where this influence manifests itself most expressive, both influencing the water balance of the basin, and influence responses to extreme hydrological events. The findings are applied to the upper basin Chomutovka in the Ore mountains where the thesis evaluates changes in land cover on the basis of aerial photos from 1975, 1987 and the present day (2010). Changes are visualized using digital vectorization and color differentiation of areas of individual land cover types, further processed into a map series and subsequently quantified. According to the results are established the major factors of possible rainfall-runoff processes in...

Title: Motivation of pregnant women to physical activities in the aquatic environment Subtitle: Physical acivity in pregnancy Goals: The purpose of this thesis is to examine motivational aspects of physical activities in aquatic environment regarding pregnant women - the reasons why they opt to try aqua fitness, their expectations, the influence of exercise on their health, their physical fitness and mental well-being. Methods: Practical part of the thesis was conducted by quantitative survey. Method of standardized questionnaire was used to obtain data. The questionnaire contained 18 questions - the answering was completely anonymous. The survey reached 43 pregnant women: it took place at swimming centres in Prague and Beroun. Data obtained from the survey was recorded in the tables and shown in the charts. The resulting data from the questionnaire was processed by SPSS 21 and MS Excel using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The main reason for pregnant women to do aqua fitness is to maintain a general physical fitness. Pregnant women do not state health reasons as an incentive to start exercising in aquatic environment. Swimming and aqua fitness is also chosen with a respect to positive development of the child fetus and keeping mental well-being. Key words: Pregnancy, motivation,...
Diabetic retinopathy from the perspective of nurse.
KRATOCHVÍLOVÁ, Petra
In the introduction to the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis we deal with the characteristics of diabetic retinopathy, the risk factors, diagnostics and treatment. Diabetic retinopathy is one of the most serious microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus nowadays. It is a damage of retinal vessels as a subsequence of hyperglycaemia. High value of glycosylated haemoglobin causes tissue hypoxia and leads to neovascularisation of vessels. These neovascular vessels are often imperfect and their wall is a frequent cause of oedemas and bleeding. Diabetic retinopathy has several forms, which lead to major and irreversible sight damages in diabetics. It can lead to total blindness in the final stage. Special care of a diabetic requires a complex interdisciplinary cooperation of an internist, a diabetologist and also an ophthalmologist. There are various subjective symptoms of diabetic retinopathy, from an asymptomatic course via a sight quality alteration, seeing wavy image, light flashes, flying flakes in the field of vision with gradual painless declination of sight. Unless diabetic retinopathy affects macula (the point of the sharpest sight) diabetic retinopathy is really asymptomatic, which proves its insidiousness and seriousness. The goal of the thesis was to determine the specifics of nursing care of patients with diabetic retinopathy. A research question, what specifics of the care of patients with diabetic retinopathy general nurses knew, was chosen to achieve the goal. A qualitative research method was chosen for the bachelor thesis. A semi-structured interview was prepared in advance. Before starting the research itself an application for permission of the research in a healthcare facility in Prague was lodged. This application was accepted by the vice-director for health care of the clinic and by the head nurse of the ophthalmology department where the research was performed. The research was performed in March 2016. General nurses working at the ophthalmology department of a Prague hospital were the respondents. The interviews were held individually after prior consent of the questioned nurses. The interview was based on 12 prepared questions chosen on the base of literature studied in advance. The nurses agreed with recording of the interviews, then the interviews were transcribed literally and printed. The obtained data was then processed by means of the paper and pencil method and categories and subcategories were produced. Four categories were produced from the questions and answers, which were subsequently divided into several subcategories. The research sample for the qualitative research consisted of ten general nurses. The selection of the research sample was intentional as working at an ophthalmology department was the criterion for preparation of the interview. We may conclude from the research results that the general nurses from the ophthalmology department where the research was held provide patients with diabetic retinopathy with quality nursing care. The knowledge of the causes of the occurrence of diabetic retinopathy, the risks factors of diabetic retinopathy and possible symptoms of diabetic retinopathy is good among the nurses. The nurses are aware of and are familiar with the specifics of the nursing care of patients with diabetic retinopathy and are able to apply such specifics in the practice. The bachelor theses was conceived to provide an insight into diabetic retinopathy and the problems of the care of patients with diabetic retinopathy. It may also be used as a source of information for nurses that care of patients with diabetic retinopathy. A proposal for an interdisciplinary seminar aimed at the problems of the care of a patient with diabetic retinopathy at an ophthalmology department is a practical output of this work.
In the shadow of the Vír's reservoir. Disappearance of villages Chudobín and Korouhvice.
Kratochvílová, Petra ; Vaněk, Miroslav (advisor) ; Franc, Martin (referee)
This master's thesis is about disposal of municipals Chudobín and Korouhvice, which ceased to exist in due to the construction Vír reservoir. While Chudobín brought the waterworks building complete extinction, for Korouhvice this reservoir construction wasn't so totally destructive - above the flood plain territory of the waterworks were built five new houses which were inhabited by indigenous people. The construction, which was built on the river Svratka in the 50's has very deep impact on human destinies and become one of the basic and essential element in that region. This thesis explores the historical development and character of both the flooded villages, river Svratka itself and even the idea of the construction and the actual implementation of that waterwork. A separate part of this thesis consists of the liquidation process itself, from its own preparations through depriving or buyout to search for new housing. The final part is about the development after finishing works on the reservoir - the new Korouhvice, life near the dam and restrictions imposed by the protection zone around the reservoir flow. KEYWORDS Svratka, Vír's dam, Chudobín, Korouhvice, liquidation, oral history.
