Water Management Analysis of Storage Capacity of the Vranov Reservoir

The current persistent drought and changes in the climate system have raised water managers expert questions about how to manage water resources in the future. The manifestation of climate change in hydrological series and their influence on the magnitude of threats to the storage functions of reservoirs are more often investigated. Already today, long-term shortages of storage capacity in reservoirs lead to the introduction of special manipulations on water structures. The aim of the thesis is to perform the analysis of time series, respectively decomposition of hydrological series average annual and monthly discharges. Create extended hydrological bases using synthetic discharge series generators and develop a comprehensive analysis of storage volume without considering losses even with the introduction of losses from the water surface vapor in the UNCE RESERVOIR program. The created discharge series are compared and evaluated on the basis of statistical characteristics and reservoir storages results with the real discharge series. The practical app is conducted on the Vranov reservoir in the Dyje River Basin.

The phenomenon of hybrid activities of state and non-state actors

The rigorous thesis deals with the issue of hybrid action of state and non-state actors using a wide range of tools of power to promote their own interests. The primary intention is to relate the content to the concept of security according to the Copenhagen school, which was one of the most important in the second half of the 20th century after the collapse of the bipolar world order to expand the dimensions of security. The definition of the main concepts of security is further extended by Clausewitz's concept of war and the American concept of Theory of Victory. The introductory theories are followed by an analysis of key theoretical apparatuses of important Western, Russian and Chinese security experts, which are then compared in relation to the essential factors of individual hybrid approaches. The work further describes in detail the significant categories of tools such as soft power, hard power, smart power and sharp power. An important part of the work is also the analysis of state, non-state and proxy-state actors, as the main carriers, users and representatives of hybrid action. In this context, the key determinant is the chosen reference object in the form of the Czech Republic. Tool for Management of Flash Memory Wear-Leveling on Embedded System Device

Práce se zabývá mechanismem wear leveling nad pamětí typu flash, zejména implementací poskytovanou společností Espressif v rámci IoT Development Framework, a to s cílem vytvořit nástroj pro sledování opotřebení flash paměti způsobené operacemi mazání. Pro účely tohoto nástroje je vytvořena vylepšená verze mechanismu, řešící některé nedostatky a rozšiřující původní wear leveling poskytovaný společností Espressif. Vylepšení zahrnuje možnost sledovat opotřebení paměti s rozlišením jednotlivých sektorů a zavádí pseudonáhodnou složku do mapovacího algoritmu za pomocí šifry zachovávající formát založené na nevyvážené Feistelově síti, vedoucí k rovnoměrnějšímu rozložení operací mazání po paměti. Toto pseudonáhodné mapování je následně otestováno pomocí simulace životnosti paměti ve vybraných zátěžových scénářích, s výsledky vykazujícími až pár procentní vylepšení v rovnoměrnosti opotřebení oproti původnímu algoritmu. Závěrem je vytvořen nástroj pro sledování opotřebení flash paměti, sestávající z vestavěné back-end části a PC front-end GUI vizualizační části.

Havlík, M. Ant Colony Optimization: Implementation and testing of bio-inspired optimization method. Diploma thesis. Brno, 2015. This thesis deals with the implementation and testing of algorithm Ant Colony Optimization as a representative of the family of bio-inspired opti-mization methods. A given algorithm is described, analyzed and subsequently put into context with the problems which can be solved. Based on the collec-ted information is designed implementation that solves the Traveling sale-sman problem. Implementation contains graphical user interface to track the algorithm. Implementation is further optimized using parallel programming and other methods. Finally the implementation compared and summarized results.

Turn-taking in distance teaching

This bachelor thesis aims to describe some of the phenomena occurring during distance learning, predominantly when it comes to turn-taking. Based on some previous literature, the first chapters of the thesis introduce conversation analysis and its view on classroom interaction and computer-mediated communication, then also turn-taking including its particularities during videocalls and then the characteristics of interaction during distance learning specifically as well. The next part of the thesis introduces a conversation analysis research of distance learning recordings, which is focused on the issues of distance learning such as overlaps or a limited access to non-verbal communication, then also on its advantages such as the presence of the chat channel, then on the strategies that are used when teachers try to hand the floor over to the students, including giving some kind of hint, assigning the next speaker or adding a sub-question, and finally on the ways in which the teachers react to the students being silent, where the result is either needing to explain the matter or the silence being a sufficient form of response.

Extreme Case Formulations in the Research Interview

The following thesis analyses the form and importance of extreme case formulations based on more than 10 research interviews. Extreme case formulations, i.e. formulations comprising expressions such as "nothing", "everything" or "noone", which present a phenomenon or a circumstance according to its minimal or maximal properties, can constitute a complication in the analysis of research interviews. This thesis expand the existing hypothesis of extreme case formulations by adding new findings, for example the bipolarity of extreme case formulations. In the analysed data, these do often occur together with different clasifiers, which either weaken (softeners) or strengthen (intensifiers) their extreme force. At the same time the following thesis broadens the research of extreme case formulations of interdisciplinary approach, which uses the findings from psychology and rhetoric. The conducted research is furthermore completed with the acoustic analysis of semantically extreme formulations, whose results show that extreme case formulations often tend to be acoustically emphasized.
