The diploma thesis "The importance of charity in Judaism" is about philanthropy in Judaism. It briefly describes the historical development since the Bible to contemporary conception of philanthropy in the Prague Jewish community. The Jewish religion is very closely engaged in all areas of the believer, including the charitable area. One of the most famous expressions of the charity is Zedekiah, meaning literally "justness, godliness, charity". Another important term is gmilut chasadim, which is translated as "acts of charity" - these acts are superior to Zedekiah by providing help to the poor ones and to the rich ones. Meaning of the Sin Offering

The intention of this thesis is to try to uncover the meaning of the sin offering once again. To get to this new point of view, it uses synchronic methods and thorough analysis of defined texts of Leviticus (from the first, the fourth and the sixth chapter) and it even uses analysis of single words in a wider context. First it is concerned about getting deeply into the understanding of what sin is, then that the sacrificial animal probably becomes the sin and the sin is killed. The goal of this thesis "The king Abimelek: interpretation of Judges 9" is to analyse biblical text Judges 9. Reader is first introduced to the topic of the Book of Judges, to which the analysed text belongs. In first chapter the state of present research is briefly summarized. Synchronic method, used in the analysis, are being described later in the thesis. Main part of the thesis deals with the interpretation of Judges 9. Step by step a reader is introduced to a form, content and interpretation of particular verses. All graduates to the conclusion of the thesis, which summarizes, what was found out using the analysis. David and Goliath: A Narrative Analysis of 1 Samuel 17

The task of diploma thesis "David and Goliath: A Narrative Analysis of 1 Samuel 17 ", is to analyze one of the most famous biblical stories through the methods of naratology and give a view on the text through various narrative categories. The greater part of this thesis will deal with exploring the characters, the dialogue, the role of the narrator, the implied reader, the events in the story, focalization and other categories. At the conclusion, there is a small excursus with a historical perspective on the story of David and Goliath. The excursus helps to place the text into a specific historical context and it also important for understanding the overall meaning of the text. The conclusion of this thesis presents to us a meaning of the story about the battle of David and Goliath. In this thesis I used narrative analysis in combination with a historical approach, and I can say that the story has two dimensions: the first dimension is focus on the individual and indicates who follows the path of Saul and the Israeli army hasn't future. But who follows the way of David and Jesse, follows the way of God, that is a very important for a human. The story offers hope for people. The work has point evidence, that jewish's mysticism starts yet in early medieval times. During centuries extends further and its line achieves until today's time. It compares most old mysticism texts with their occurrence at a later literature. It focus on mystical groups and theirs incidence.
