Digitally controlled linear power supply
Mikulka, Martin ; Šteffan, Pavel (referee) ; Háze, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the design and realization of laboratory power supply with digital control. The power supply contains two separate galvanically isolated channels with output parameters in ranges of 0 - 24 V and 0 - 5 A. Output parameters are controllable independently via front panel or remote control. This power supply allows user to connect other channels meeting the condition of galvanic isolation and communication via the I2C interface. The content of this work is a theoretical analysis of the design of linear regulators, design with practical implementation and subsequent measurement.
Universal data storage for IoT applications
Kadlíček, Matej ; Myška, Vojtěch (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
The master’s thesis is written about the topic of data warehouse and the technology associated with it. The aim of the theses was to select programming tools for creating a website. Next aim was to design the functionality, appearence and datastorage. Subsequent implementation of design was done after. Theses was divided into 5 chapters. The first one includes selections of programming tools for a creating a backend. Second chapter includes design of database storage. Third chapter includes design of functionality and user interface. Fourth chapter includes implementation of the application and the last one includes testing.
The motorcycle diagnostic unit
Smola, Tomáš ; Šteffan, Pavel (referee) ; Levek, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with problematics of air/fuel mixture diagnosis od older carburetor motors. Especially for motors with more than one cylinder. In this thesis are informations about commercial product for diagnosis, brief informations about function of CV caburetor and best setup of fuel mixture. The next step in this thesis will be design, construction and testing of device for the diagnosis air/fuel mixture in practical use. Device will be able to measure mixture and other values witch can be used for best carburetor setup.
USB communication protocol analysis
Time-domain switching device with three power outputs
Pavlas, Lukáš ; Macháň, Ladislav (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor work deals with the engineering design of Time Controlled Switch with Three Independent Outlets. It includes description of function, analysis of problems and suggestion for possible materialization. First, problems of capacity loads switching, following extreme conditions on the capacity outlets which are represented by short circuit state and by void state are analyzed and described. Then the work deals with the choice of components, suggestions for connection, design od printed circuit card and construction solution of the device. Finally, the work offers possible improvement of the design which consists in adding a complementary function of monitoring capacity loads or in a possibility tu use other communication technologies for remote setting of the device.
Low ESR meter controlled by the microcontroller
Giemza, Michal ; Adámek, Martin (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis describes the design and realization of the equivalent series resistance meter of capacitors. The first part discussed the theoretical issue of the equivalent series resistance of capacitor and chooses an appropriate measuring method. The second part describes the design of functional blocks of the meter and describes the realization of the final meter by the circuit and software page. The last section describes the measurement on real capacitors and its results.
Remotely controlled thermostat
Závodný, Vilém ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of my thesis is to understand the manufactured thermostats and design own thermostat to allow the most basic possibilities classical thermostats plus setup and management via web interface. It is a realization of a small web server that works closely with hardware peripherals. In addition, the web interface is still possible to manage a Web server of TFT LCD screen or applications for smart phone with Android. In addition, the thermostat allows the temperature reading from the BLE modules. All temperatures are continuously stored in a database and graphically processed.
Charging station NiMh battery packs
Pochylý, Vít ; Otáhal, Alexandr (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to get acquainted with the characteristics of rechargeable accumulator batteries and their charging and on the basis of this obtained information to design a charger of larger number of batteries. The design and later construction of the charger will be designed for 6 battery packs, which consist of six NiHM rechargeable cells. This means that the charger will be able to charge 36 of these cells. The main advantage will be the control of the charger using a microcontroller, which will allow the appropriate selection of the charging cycle, display of information and control by buttons.
FPGA implementation of artificial neural network
Čermák, Justin ; Šteffan, Pavel (referee) ; Bohrn, Marek (advisor)
This master's thesis describes the design of effective working artificial neural network in FPGA Virtex-5 series with the maximum use of the possibility of parallelization. The theoretical part contains basic information on artificial neural networks, FPGA and VHDL. The practical part describes the used format of the variables, creating non-linear function, the principle of calculation the single layers, or the possibility of parameter settings generated artificial neural networks.
Equipment for long-term test of BLDC controller
Řihák, Roman ; Háze, Jiří (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design and realization of equipment for long-term testing of the controller of brushless DC motors. In the theoretical part are mentioned principles and explanation of the function of various types of electric motors. The diploma thesis also deals with brushless motors, how they are controlled, types, constructed, etc. At the end of the first chapter there is a mention of thermoelectric phenomena. The second chapter describes the appropriate design of equipment for long-term testing from the block diagram to the construction itself. The third chapter deals with the implementation and function of the entire test system.
