Speech therapy in home care for people with aphasia

The topic of the thesis is speech therapy for people with aphasia. The thesis is divided into four chapters, the first three chapters are concerning the theory, the fourth chapter is empirical. The first chapter contains the definition of communication and the definition of disturbed communication ability, it dedicates the central and peripheral nervous system and its impact on the communication ability. The second chapter focuses on the aphasia as a kind of disturbed communication of ability gained by adults. Herein is described the etiology, symptomology and speech therapy intervention, the part of this is diagnostics, therapy and prevention. The third chapter mentions the system of organization of the speech therapy intervention in the Czech Republic which is divided into three sectors. Further is described the speech therapy in home care as an ordinary part of speech therapy abroad. The fourth chapter presents the combined research focused on provided speech therapy in home care in our country. The main purpose of such research was to analyse the specifics of speech therapy in home care for persons with aphasia and to record availability of providing this service. The diploma thesis "Manifestations in the language levels of the 1st grade pupils of the regular elemntary school" consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with general terms from the area of speech and language development, describes the development of motor skills, auditory and visual perception. Furthermore, it describes individual language levels and the most common types of speech disorders encountered in primary school pupils. The research part of the thesis is devoted to the analysis of speech manifestations on individual levels of pupils of the first grade of the regular elementary school. The partial aim of the research is to analyze the gross, fine and oromotorics of the examined children, to analyze their auditory and visual perception and to analyze the quality of all language levels. Educator's function in development of nonspeech areas of children with communicative disability

The diploma thesis is focused on educator's function in development of nonspeech areas of children with communicative disability. The thesis consists of two main parts. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters which gradually introduce the development of the child at a younger school age, communicative disability, nonspeech areas of comunication and education of children with communicative disability. This information provides a basic insight into issues of work and makes it easier to be well informed about topic. The empirical part presents the qualitative research in which four pupils with communicative disability are involved. The aim of the research is to find out the difficulties in nonspeech areas and what influence the educator of the after-school club can have on their development. Sensory perception, cognitive processes and motor skills are analyzed in accoradance with these goals. Changes between investigations are also observed. The chapter contains case studies of pupils that include personal and family history, individual children's abilities, social interaction and information about speech therapy. Speech therapy for seniors at residental care in the Hradec Kralove region

This diploma thesis is focused on providing speech therapy intervention for seniors in residential facilities. The aim of this special pedagogical work is to show the problems in the communication of seniors and a possible support in the home for the elderly. The thesis has two parts. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. In this part, secondary communication disorders observed among adults, selected diseases related to old age, the definition of old age and residential services for seniors are described. In the empirical part, the research, case studies and the results are obtained. The research is qualitative. The main goal was to analyze providing speech therapy intervention in the home for the elderly. Partial goals were to find out whether there would be a progress in the senior communication based on speech therapy intervention and to find out whether the support of home workers in cooperation with an expert can help in this regard as well. Dental Therapy and the Speech Therapy of The Patients with The Orofacial Clefts

The thesis is focused on orofacial clefts, dental intervention and the speech therapy of the patient. The theoretical part describes the given issues from a historical and contemporary perspective. The thesis covers causes of orofacial clefts and the necessity of identifying a solution. Orofacial clefts are discussed and classified. Identifying the issues that may result from congenital cleft defects. It is focused on the velopharyngeal inadequacy and the cleft palate speech, which is closely connected with orofacial clefts. At the end of this segment the treatment schedule of the orofacial clefts is described. The interdisciplinary cooperation focuses on dental therapy and speech therapy. The practical part deals with three similar casuistries about three patients with a similar defect. Photographic documentation of patients during their orthodontic and prosthetic treatment and after their treatment is provided. The purpose of this thesis is to describe how the interdisciplinary cooperation was ensured in a group of patients. The research investigates the initiation of speech therapy with the patients. Social use of communication by clients of residental care

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of special education. It deals with the definition of basic knowledge in interpersonal communication and speech development in general, and especially in symptomatic speech disorders in people with mental disabilities. In context of communication, it presents four language levels with focus on the pragmatic language and the social-use communication. This thesis connects knowledge of intact speech development with speech development in children with intellectual disabilities, and knowledge of the pragmatic language level with the specifics of pragmatics of people with intellectual disabilities. The research of this thesis is produced by the interpretation of the results obtained by using the evaluation material which was created for this thesis - it is based on theoretical knowledge and inspired by evaluation materials of other authors. The research surveys the level of pragmatic language as a social use of communication among people using residential social services, specifically one home for people with disabilities. Support for the development of a child with specific language impairment

The thesis focuses on the theme of the specific language impairment (developmental dysphasia). This thesis consists of the theoretical and the empirical part. The theoretical part is made up of of three main chapters. The first chapter deals with terms: communication, specific language impairment and speech development. The second chapter presents the terminological definition of the specific language impairment (developmental dysphasia), its etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and therapy. The third chapter discusses issues of the preschool age. The empirical part is covered in the fourth chapter. It contains a case study, which is focusing on a young boy with specific language impairment and in detail it describes family situation, the boy's personal case history and also his psychomotor and speech development. Further, the thesis focuses on support provided to his development and evaluates progress after year of intensive care. Child with Developmental Language Disorder at Inclusive School

The topic of this bachelors' thesis is inclusive educational process of a child with developmental language disorder. The thesis consists of four chapters, three of which are theoretical, the fourth chapter is practical. The first chapter describes the development of the intact child of preschool and young school age, with the accent on the speech development. The second chapter is concentrated on the issue of developmental language disorder, its etiology, symptomatology, diagnostics and therapy. The third chapter introduces the term inclusion and it offers main factors and conditions of successful inclusive education in the Czech Republic, including the legislation. The fourth chapter is the research one. It is developed as a case study of a child with developmental language disorder. It describes the educational process of the child at inclusive school. It points out the difficulties in various educational areas due to developmental language disorder. The diploma thesis is devided into two parts - the theoretical and the practical one. The theoretical part deal with contemporary issues of aphasia in the context of various scientifics discipline and aphasia access. I analyze aphasia classifications, diagnostics, therapy and using of the aids in aphasia therapy. The practical part describes my work - project and realisation of reeducational aid for people with aphasia, which name is Soubor sekvencí dějových obrázků. I devote to detailed describtion of this aid in the final chapter. The aim of the diploma thesis was to widen offer reeducational materiál for people with aphasia in our conditions.
