The purpose of my diploma dissertation is J.S.Bach and his cantata works for bass. I divided the work into the three chapters. The first one is about Bach´s life and works. In the second chapter is the analyse of three cantatas for bass BWV 82, BWV 56, BWV 158. The third one is the list of recitaives, duets and arias for bass in Bach´s sacred cantatas. I sang the cantata " Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen" BWV 56 at my graduate´s concert.

This essay is about development of minimalist music. The other part is about Philip Glasses compositions, his compositional progression and his way to theater. Final part is about opera Einstein on the Beach, which is the first opera by Philip Glass. There is summary of musical components which are used in Einstein on the Beach, libretto with czech translation, description of scenes and finally harmonic and formal design of the whole piece.

The presented bachelor thesis is focused on The Mozart Effect - phenomenon zhat has been subject of many science argumants in various areas of knowledge for many years, that ispires admiration and refusal, stimulates authors to further researches, studies and explanations.The basis of Mozart effect is the idea that listening to Mozart's music enhances person's inteligence through influencing cognitive character of personality which can be measured by spatial - temporal task performace.The data based on literature review ( particularly from English sources) are classified into nine groups, beginning the fifties of last century until the present. Most important authors' publications of the respective era are represented within each group.

I would like to explaine and remind for modern interprets jewell at world lied music by my work for the theme Das lied von der Erde, just one piece from late works from Gustav Mahler. I still interpret two vocal cycles by Gustav Mahler with piano accompaning - Das Kindretotenlieder and Des Knaben Wundernhorn, we can classify these two pieces as great world vocal music,but we think, that Das Lied von der Erde has a spacific position at Mahlers componist work.Maybe it was determinet by the text, which was arrange from a bigger part by Gustav Mahler, maybe it was difficult living situation, and anothers of factors, bring for this music a more individuality and a more introvertive expression. It is as Mahlers own words presents by his mounth.

In my bachelor thesis, I have decided to focus on the person of Gustav Mahler. A large part of the text is focused on his life's many fates and works. After reviewing important data from fis personal life, I mapped out Gustav Mahler's professional develompment. In conclusion I am focusing on one of his works: Songs of the Wandering Journeyman. I am encapsulating the history of this work's origins as well as a formal analysis of its structure. I have also provided a comparison of interpretations as provided by four world renowned singers.
