Nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete structures
Kopřiva, Josef ; Kala, Jiří (referee) ; Hradil, Petr (advisor)
Create FEM computational model additionally tensioned bridges for pedestrians and cyclists using ANSYS. Perform nonlinear analysis, design and make a comparison with standard values.
Wind loads of building structures
Štěrba, Martin ; Kala, Jiří (referee) ; Hradil, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the effects of wind load on building structures. In the context of the work is solved the numerical modeling of flow around the solid cylindrical bodies at high Reynolds numbers. To the simulations has been used computational software ANSYS CFX. The outputs of the work are the values of Strouhal numbers and the values of drag and lift coefficient depending on the Reynolds number.
Software support for quality management in civil engineering
Kala, Jakub ; Gajdošík, Jiří (referee) ; Tichý, Zdeněk (advisor)
Focus of this bachelor’s thesis is mapping software support for quality management in civil engineering. System of quality management is defined and established in basic criterion norm of series 9001, on international level labeled EN ISO 9001, in Czech Republic labeled ČSN EN ISO 9001. Other ISO quality norms, for example 9000, 9004 or related norm of series 19011 are not subject of this bachelor’s thesis. Norm ISO 9001 (further norm) specifies requirements of customer oriented system of quality management – to prove, that it provides products according to customer’s demands and that it’s capable of reacting to customer’s demands during process of production, assuming that all conditions dictated by law, regulations, norms, operating and technological procedures and so on, have been met. Objective of the whole procedure is assuring and increasing customer’s satisfaction. In this thesis quality, norm as a basic prescription of quality and software support of quality management are described, also usage of CAQ in practice is mapped.
Wind load analysis of building structures
Ptáček, Václav ; Kala, Jiří (referee) ; Hradil, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on wind load analysis with regard to the dynamic effects caused by wind impact on slender structures. These calculations are conducted for a chimney structure with use of various wind velocities. The thesis includes basic principles of fluid flow modeling in CFD programs like ANSYS CFX.
Anti-corruption policies in the Czech Republic – Government's strategy in the fight against corruption between the years 2011 and 2012
Kala, Jiří ; Vymětal, Petr (advisor) ; Kučera, František (referee)
The purpose of the thesis is to evaluate the real impact of anti-corruption policies of the Czech Government. Therefore, the thesis firstly deals with the phenomenon of corruption and the fight against it in general. Subsequently, various anti-corruption strategies from 1999 to 2010 are introduced. Fundamental part of the thesis is devoted to an analysis of the Government's strategy in the fight against corruption between the years 2011 and 2012. Measures taken according to this strategy are examined in the light of the recommendations of NGOs that are engaged in the anti-corruption fight. The thesis sets out the strengths and the weaknesses of the strategy and points out the major flaws that need to be resolved as soon as possible. The third part suggests a solution to each of the problems that have emerged from the analysis. The proposals are mainly based on the recommendations of the anti-corruption organizations in the framework of the Reconstruction of the State and the Government's strategy in the fight against corruption between the years 2013 and 2014. Conclusion of the study shows to what extent is the current Czech government's anti-corruption policy successful.
Gliding Arc
KALA, Jaroslav
The thesis is focused on increasing the surface tension of polyethylen, using plasma. A gliding arc was chosen for this surface modi cation. The theoretical part includes an overview of gas discharges, their classi cation, properties and technical applications, and deals with an in uence of surface tension on surface modi cations of materials. The experiment is explained in the practical part, a jet analysis carried out before the experiment is described. Results of the experiment are presented.
Conflict of Interest - International Recommendations and Czech Approach
Kala, Jiří ; Vymětal, Petr (advisor) ; Smetanková, Daša (referee)
The aim of this work is to describe the area of the conflict of interest in the public sector in general and then in the Czech Republic. Firstly, it works with international overview on this problem. It defines the purpose of the conflict of interest and the public officials. It also presents recommendations refer to this policy, mainly accepted in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Next, it is presented, how the conflict of interest is managed in the Czech Republic. The work also analyzes Czech conflict of interest act and the activities, which carries out the global civic society organisation Transparency International. Finally, it is evaluated the efficiency of the measures which were accepted in the Czech Republic.
Cesta k ocelovým konstrukcím s nízkými výrobními náklady - je rovnání deskových prvků opravdu nevyhnutelné a žádoucí?
Škaloud, Miroslav ; Melcher, J. ; Kala, J. ; Kala, Z.
A reduction of some fabrication procedures as a way to economic-fabrication construction. Initial imperfections in welded plated systems and web tolerances. Analysis of the effect of initial web curvatures on the ultimate strength of the whole girder, with the view to find out whether it is possible to avoid costly straightening of plate elements involved.
Parametric sensitivity analysis of the stress state in the crack-prone areas of breathing webs
Kala, J. ; Kala, Z. ; Škaloud, Miroslav ; Teplý, B.
Within the framework of the Czech research on the cumulative damage process in, and the fatigue limit state of, steel plate girders under the action of many times repeated loading, the authors decided to perform a sensitivity analysis of the effect of initial imperfections on the state of stress in those areas of the breathing webs of the girders in which fastigue cracks develop under the effect of repeated loads. This paper describes a preparatory stage of the study; in whitch the theoretical apparatus needed is prepared, discussed and calibrated by way of comparing theoretical results obtained with the results of the tests carried out by one of the authors and his co-workers some time ago.
Values of the results of the experimental investigation obtained from a stochastic analysis - the influence of the magnitude and shape of an initial imperfection of the steel beam slender web on its stress state
Kala, Z. ; Kala, J. ; Teplý, B. ; Škaloud, Miroslav
In the paper, the results of sensitivity analysis of the influence of initial imperfections on the stress state of thin-walled girder are presented. Most input random quantitis were found experimentally. The stress was analysed by means of a geometrically and materially non-linear solution by applying the program ANSYS.
