Tuto práci bylo určitě možno napsat na mnoha místech jinak, zcela jistě lépe a často také více do hloubky. Nepopírám, že řady vytčených cílů bylo dosaženo pouze částečně a některé otázky zůstaly dokonce nezodpovězeny, přesto si ale myslím, že práce jako celek svůj základní účel splnila. Výsledky archeologického výzkumu často svojí nekonkrétností svádí ke spekulaci. V takovém případě jsem se vždy snažil o co možná nejserióznější přístup, který by bral ohled na všechny možné varianty řešení. Jestliže jsem byl nucen formulovat konkrétní závěry, pokoušel jsem se je podat vždy tak, aby bylo zřejmé, jaké důvody mne ke konečnému rozhodnutí vedly. Netvrdím, že výsledky, k nimž jsem při práci dospěl, odrážejí nějakou historickou pravdu a jsou tak jediné možné. Jsem si vědom, že jiný badatel může mít na věc odlišný názor, a budu proto rád za každou věcnou připomínku ke způsobu provedení i výsledkům mého dosavadního výzkumu. Čtenáři se pak dodatečně omlouvám, za všechny případné chyby, které v práci najde, a které padají pouze a jen na mou hlavu.

Pyramid causeway in the Old Kingdom: evolution of the architecture and definition of the relief decoration program

In the spring of 1994, an unexpected discovery to the North of the upper part of Sahure's causeway changed the long established belief that the mortuary complex of Sahure was excavated completely by L. Borchardt.1 Four huge limestone blocks decorated in basrelief of the highest quality bearing unique polychrome scenes were discovered during that spring, proving Borchardt's excavations of Sahure's complex were incomplete. These four blocks were evidence that more decorated blocks and fragments were still under the masses of sand surrounding the upper part of the causeway which had never been investigated by Borchardt? This surprising discovery was the result of cleaning being done in the area in preparation to open the Abusir necropolis for tourists. The work was under the supervision of Zahi Hawass. Hawass stopped the work at Abusir and reburied the blocks after they were photographed and drawn with the help of the Czech mission working at Abusir. Only a preliminary report was published by Zahi Hawass and Miroslav Verner to present the discovery to scholars.3 In their report, a survey of the causeways from royal funerary complexes was performed to alert scholars that many causeways are partially or completely unexcavated and need to be given more attention.4 In 2002, the present author was trusted by Hawass...

The accounting from the papyrus archive of Neferre and their specific terminology

This doctoral thesis is intended as a basic study of the accounting documents from the papyrus archive of Neferre. Some parts of this work shall be used in the near future for the purposes of the publication of the papyrus archive of Neferre. The archive shall be published in collaboration with and under the supervision of Miroslav Verner, and will encompass the previous work of the late Paule Posener-Krh~ger. In Chapter 2, basic information concerning the Abusir papyrus archives is presented. This includes short notions about the discoveries of the three papyrus archives in Abusir, about their date of origin, and about the types of records preserved in these archives. Other known papyrus archives from the Old Kingdom are also mentioned in this chapter. Chapter 3 contains a detailed description of all the fragments of accounts from the archive of Neferre, arranged into subchapters following an elaborate classification of the types of accounts. The descriptions of the fragments are very detailed because this study does not include the translations of the texts.1 Thus, they include as much information as possible, and many suggestions concerning the interpretation of these records were added as well. The So-called Arabian "Anonymous Relations" as a Source of the History of Greater Moravia

Za hlavní cíl této práce bylo stanoveno předložení dostatečného množství argumentů, jež by dokázaly, že arabský anonym psal ve své zprávě z konce 9. století o Velké Moravě a že jejím vládcem, jehož jmenuje, je Svatopluk I. Jako první předpoklad pro dosažení cíle je shromáždění všech důležitých materiálů, utřídění všech poznatků, zorientování se v nich a podrobení je kritickému rozboru. Na cestě k cíli je třeba se vypořádat s chybnými teoriemi, je nezbytné vyvrátit řadu mylných důkazů na nichž stojí celé koncepce, zejména východní. Tato problematika je natolik komplexní, že pouhé shrnutí dosavadních výzkumů nestačí. Je třeba provést vlastní kritiku pramene. Na pomoc budou muset přijít i další vědní obory jako ku příkladu geologie, numismatika, lingvistika, archeologie, orientalistika a další. V této práci jsem si dal za cíl zpracovat tři konkrétní body, vycházející z textu arabského pramene. Prvním problémem je osoba zástupce Svatopluka - župana. Pokusím se identifikovat cestu, kterou se dostal tento výraz do slovníku starých Moravanů. Dále budu sledovat jeho další existenci ve vznikajících středoevropských státech a jeho obsahové proměny. Museum societies in central-eastern Bohemia and their fates in the 19th and 20th century

This diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of regional museums in the second half of the 19th century and in the first half of the 20th century in the area of central-eastern Bohemia. The thesis is divided into three main chapters, first of which offers the overview of the establishment and development of the regional museums. The following one analyses the laws of association and statutes of the particular societies. The last chapter introduces the most important milestones in the history of four museum societies which are: Museum society of Chrudim, Museum of Hlinsko County, Archaeological society Vocel and Archaeological and museum society Včela Čáslavská. Based on the primary sources analysis and comparative method, the author of the thesis tried to focus on the common and different moments in the history and activities of the museum societies mentioned above. The Benedictine Monastery in Podlažice - the Podlažice Necrologue

Hlavním cílem této práce je poukázat na přínos podlažického nekrologia jako historického pramene a jeho využití pro objasnění raných dějin kláštera v Podlažicích. Z toho vychází i struktura této práce. V první části je popsán dějinný vývoj Podlažického kláštera od jeho počátků v polovině dvanáctého století až po zánik v roce 1421. Tato kapitola vychází z dobových pramenů a dostupné literatury a ukazuje, jakým způsobem bychom pojali dějiny kláštera, pokud bychom neznali Kodex Gigas a podlažické nekrologium. Podlažický klášter je všeobecně vnímán jako klášter poměrně nevýznamný, jeho jméno však proslavil výjimečný rukopis, který byl v Podlažicích sepsán. Tímto rukopisem je známý Kodex Gigas, obrovská středověká kniha, kterou provází mnoho legend a pověstí, a která se již po tři sta šedesát let nachází ve Švédsku. Popis této knihy je náplní druhé části této práce. Protože Kodex Gigas nelze z výše uvedeného důvodu zkoumat přímo, vychází tato kapitola z poměrně bohaté bibliografie k tomuto tématu. Třetí a nejobsáhlejší kapitolu tvoří rozbor nekrologia Podlažického kláštera. Nekrologium je spolu s mnoha dalšími texty zaznamenáno v Kodexu Gigas. Jeho podoba je v porovnání s dalšími historickými prameny tohoto typu naprosto unikátní. Obsahuje přes patnáct set jmen a právě analýza skladby nekrologia a určení...
