SSH Public Key Management in FreeIPA and SSSD
Tool for Analysis of User Data Gathered from AVG Admin Console Installations
Heroutová, Tereza ; Smrčka, Aleš (referee) ; Peringer, Petr (advisor)
This document describes the design and implementation of a tool which allows for evaluation and visualisation of statistical data gathered from users of the AVG Admin Console application. The document describes collected statistical data including their localization and storing all the data in the database is discussed. The application was tested on real statistical data and possible improvements based on the results are proposed.
Optimization of the Hadoop Platform for Distributed Computation
Čecho, Jaroslav ; Smrčka, Aleš (referee) ; Letko, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis is focusing on possibilities of improving the Apache Hadoop framework by outsourcing some computation to a graphic card using the NVIDIA CUDA technology. The Apache Hadoop software library is a framework that allows for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of computers using a simple programming model called mapreduce. NVIDIA CUDA is a platform which allows one to use a graphic card for a general computation. This thesis contains description and experimental implementations of suitable computation inside te Hadoop framework that can benefit from being executed on a graphic card.
Application for Generating GUI Test Suite
Melo, Juraj ; Charvát, Lukáš (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
This thesis describes a system for automated GUI testing using assistive technologies for accessing and manipulating GUI elements. The only input from the user to automated test system is a description of UI events and activities. For this purpose, a specialized language is proposed. The test system then automatically generates possible sequences of UI events applying a given criterion. Generated test set is executed by Python interpreter exploiting the Linux Desktop Testing Project (LDTP). Test system described in this thesis then provides reports and coverage evaluation for particular test cases and the whole test set.
Cooperative Project Planning in Getting Things GNOME
Matušov, Izidor ; Holík, Lukáš (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
This work dicusses the extension for Getting Things GNOME which makes it possible to use it for planning and managment of cooperative projects. Reader is introduced to basics of project planning and project management and selected methods. The target audience and their needs for the extension were identified and their solutions were proposed. This work includes a walkthrough the extension of the user interface in the form of wireframes. The proposed extension was implemented and tested.
A Tool to Check Status of All Replicas in the FreeIPA Infrastructure
Modular File Scanner for RPM
A Support of GVFS Caching
Holý, Ondřej ; Zelený, Jan (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
The master's thesis deals with a support of caching in GVfs (Gnome Virtual filesystem). Basics of caches, cache invalidation, and cache replacement algorithms are described. Description of GIO filesystem abstraction and communication of modules within GVfs is provided next. The disadvantages of individual GVfs modules and, if present, their internal caches are discussed. The thesis proposes three types of cache. The first type of cache is for storing file metadata, the second one for directory listings, and the latter for file content. These caches have been implemented in a prototype and verified with respect to the functionality and performance. The main benefits of the proposed solution are faster work with virtual filesystems and provided missing functionality of lower-level virtual filesystem to GIO abstraction (namely, for instance seek operation).
Universal Graphic Editor Library and Python Module
Košulič, Jaroslav ; Kočí, Radek (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
The diagrams, schemes, and graphs in general are widely used in the field of easy-to-read information visualisation. We use them for example in the school lessons for an algorithm presentation, or in the technical jobs such as software and hardware development by modelling UML diagrams, database schemes, etc. The project Universal Graph Editor has been established two years ago to fill the gap with the software tool providing such a modelling engine. The previous work has been reasumed in semestral project by design of the dynamic graph drawing (or the drawing of a vector graphic in general) and the library for graph manipulation with C-language interface. This master thesis continues further by creating a Python module using the developed interface. The documentation and the testing phase is conluding the annual work.
System Log Analysis
Ščotka, Jan ; Peringer, Petr (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
The goal of this master thesis is to make possible to perform system log analysis in more general way than well-known host-based instrusion detection systems (HIDS). The way how to achieve this goal is via proposed user-friendly regular expressions. This thesis deals with making regular expressions possible to use in the field of log analysis, and mainly by users unfamiliar with formal aspects of computer science.
