Dietary habits of drug users in low-threshold contact centres

Subject of this thesis is nourishment in the low threshold clubs and contact centers in the South Moravia region. The goal of the thesis is to research from the point of view of eating regime, balance of meals, hydration and Body Mass Index of a selected target group of drugs consumers. First chapter of the theoretical part is focused on issue of nourishment from the perspective of basic elements of food. Chapter named "Addictive substances in relation to nutrition" which describes nourishment in interaction with using particular kinds of addictive substances. It the chapter "Conditions caused by lack of nutrition" are described basic indicators of nutrient deficiency - malnutrition, dehydration and hypovitaminosis, and there are also given factors which participate in bad dietary habits. Last section of the theory named "Nutritional therapy in addictology" contains characteristics of food service in contact centers, nutritional recommendations and food pyramid. The research was made by survey and identifies eating habits of drug users in contact centers in the South Moravia region: in Brno, Břeclav, Hodonín and Kyjov. The topic of the thesis focuses on nutrition for people addicted to alcohol. The theoretical part of the thesis is to describe and adequate nutrition recommendations, which should people addicted to alcohol optimally receive. This section will describe the appropriate food components in the context of a variety of somatic and psychological changes in clients addicted to alcohol. There is also described the problems with the long-term consumption of high doses of alcohol occur in the context of micro and macronutrients. Pointed out the possible signs and risk inherent in inadequate nutrition in alcoholism carries. Also in this section above, which each term medical complications of alcohol bears. Nutritional recommendations for clients with alcoholic liver disease

Work is in its theoretical part focuses on the description of the traditional role of alcohol in the Czech population and its consumption. Czech Republic has long been the largest consumers of beer in the world, as well as the total consumption of pure alcohol per person to hold among the highest in the world. With high levels of alcohol consumption is related of course the risk of addiction. Although alcohol affects the whole body, from somatic damage is focused mainly on the liver. Due consumption may develop a wide range of illnesses, from mild forms such as hepatic steatosis to serious, life-threatening liver cirrhosis. Therapeutic procedures in alcohol liver disease are outlined at the end of the theoretical part. The cornerstone of treatment is abstinence, followed by other recommendations, which include stop smoking, or sufficient nutrition support. The practical part is focused on diet recommendations, which are designed for clients with alcohol liver disease. Specific recommendations are based on analysis of articles that were retrieved based on the specified criteria. Pathological personality structure in the stories of clients treated for addictive substance abuse in a chosen Highlands facility Abstract This thesis deals with the issue of personality disorders, termed in the title as pathological structures of personality, of people treated for addictive substance abuse. Numerous Czech and foreign studies pointing out high prevalence of personality disorders with substance abusers served as a base. I also proceeded from the finding that little was written in theory or dealt with in practice concerning comorbidity of abovementioned issues. The theoretical part is divided into three parts. The first part develops the topic of personality disorders, chosen types of addiction and the unifying topic of psychiatric comorbidity. The aim of the thesis is, by analyzing two case studies, to describe the possible manifestations and treats of specific personality disorders, to observe the way they affect their life or the development of the illness connected to substance abuse and the part they took in their relapses or in their cooperation with the services for substance abusers. Pilot questioning of patological addiction on food - investigation accomplished in selected Prague fast food restaurants and sweetshops

This thesis deals with the phenomenon of food addiction. The research was held among the customers of Prague sweetshops, fast foods and supermarkets. The aim of this work is to find the prevalence of this phenomenon if Prague population, which visits these organizations. The second aim of this work is to deal with prevalence of food dependence in relation with social - demographic readings, such as gender, age, the highest education and a level of month salary. It pays attention to the high incidence of different criterion of food addiction. Finally it deals with problematic foodstuff. This thesis is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part deals with the problems of food dependence. According to the bibliographic search this work reports on diagnostic methods for this illness and on most frequent problematic foodstuff, like additives in food. For better understanding of this problem I include to my work differences between eating disorders, obesity and food addiction. Bigorexia as addiction: Risk factors in development causing Muscle dysmorphia

Risk factors in development causing Bigorexia. The subject of this study are the risk factors in human development, that may be causing Bigorexia. The study contains theoretical part, which describes Bigorexia as an eating disorder with addictive elements in behaviour. Theoretical part also contains characterization of compulsive exercising, steroid abuse and theories of bigorexia development - cognitive, psychodynamic, biological, cognitive- behavioral and behavioral theory. In this part are also described risk factors for Bigorexia development and process of medical treatment. Next part is practical, containing four case histories of men with Bigorexia. The respondents are asked for their own understanding of Bigorexia. The case histories are searched for common characteristics in development, which may contribute to Bigorexia. The characteristics are individually analyzed and the risk factors are evaluated. And the results are overconcern of their body appearance, continuation in exercise over the presence of injury or illness, anxiety caused by default of training program, preoccupation by exercise, neglect of duty, demanding of higher achievements and the mood changing. Co-morbidity of eating disorders and alcohol use among female patients in the Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice

Co-morbidity of eating disorders and alcohol use among women is topical, because eating disorders can be seen as a disease of modern women and alcohol use as a very frequent and tolerated by society. Despite the seriousness of this issue there are not enough studies on this topic. Unfortunately, interest in this issue is not large in Czech Republic and literature comprehensively addressing this subject is not available. This work defines the basic terms important in the field of eating disorders, alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence and co- morbidity of these two disorders. The results of a questionnaire study findings in the Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice, Prague, Czech republic, helped me in getting answers to research questions. The object of these research questions are prevalence of alcohol use in women with eating disorders in the Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice and the existence of a predisposition to alcohol use in women with various eating disorders. Result of the study is the finding that alcohol use in women with eating disorders in Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice is frequent and the prevalence is much higher than in the general population. Domestic violence and alcohol as a trigger of agression

As a thesis topic I chose the controversial and often discussed the topic "Domestic violence and alcohol as a trigger factor for aggression." In the general population of the Czech population, however, long dominated by number of entrenched myths. The aim of this thesis is to describe the phenomenon of domestic violence, generally explain the basic concepts, types, forms, consequences for victims of domestic violence often carry lifetime. One chapter describes those thugs, not just for men. Violent person, mainly in relation to the elderly and children, may be a woman. The work is to imagine an organization dealing with domestic violence in the Czech Republic and describe the work of the police. Alcohol surely affects human behavior and is often a factor present in the accompanying violence against a loved one. The inquiry was to determine the extent of contact persons phenomenon of domestic violence and how to track down the victim subjectively perceive alcohol as a cause of aggression. Since this is a phenomenon highly latent, to get information, he was elected quantitative research interviewing technique and anonymous questionnaires.
