Keeping Senior Citizens Who Receive Home Care And Suffer From Dementia Active

The bachelor thesis deals with keeping seniors with dementia active in the home environment. The aim of the thesis is to describe the characteristics, possibilities, and limitations of pet therapy, as one of the activation methods, used with seniors who are suffering from dementia in the home environment. The bachelor thesis deals with aging and old age. It introduces dementia and some of its characteristics. Next, it deals with the possibilities of senior care for people suffering from dementia and methods of keeping seniors with dementia active. It also examines pet therapy as one of such methods. The aim of the survey is to find out what limitations associated with dementia may occur during the use of the pet therapy method and how the life of a senior is influenced by a pet. To find this out, interviews with caregivers who care for seniors with dementia are used as well as case studies of specific seniors. Current Education Opportunities for Convicted Women in the Czech Republic

The Bachelor's thesis deals with the possibilities of educating women who serve their imprisonment in the Czech Republic. First, the attention is paid to the current state of Czech prison institutions in terms of quantity, type and gender. Second, an insight into some social and psychological aspects which can influence education of the above mentioned gender group is provided. What is primarily focused on is social status of those women and their motivation for education. The main aim of the thesis is an analysis of contemporary educational possibilities for the target group in relation to further professional education, particularly to qualification and requalification courses. The analysis is based on the concrete offer of the courses in individual prison institutions. The partial objective of the thesis is the description of the unique project called "Four Worlds under One Roof", of which female prisoners from Prague's prison in Repy are the inseparable part and which illustrates the coexistence of four different social classes in one place - not only does the difference lie in the social status but also in the way of living. Benefits of Participation in Intergenerational Programs which Concentrate on Reading to Children from the Point of View of Elderly

The presented bachelor thesis is concerned with intergenerational programmes. In particular, it deals with benefits of intergenerational programmes oriented towards reading to children in kindergartens from the viewpoint of the participating elders and the influence of the participation in such programmes on the participants' well-being. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the introduction to the intergenerational issues and intergenerational relations in Czech society. The second chapter presents intergenerational programmes as a space for intergenerational learning and points to their potential for building intergenerational cooperation and understanding. Due to the topic of the thesis, the third chapter concentrates on the benefits of intergenerational programmes for the elderly in relation with the participants' well-being. The last chapter is concerned with empirical research, the goal of which is the identification and analysis of psychosocial benefits of the programme Přečti as reflected by the participating elders and attributed to participation in the programme oriented to reading to children in kindergartens. Work Opportunities for People with Psychotic IIlness at the Labour Market

The diploma thesis is dealing with the issues of people with psychotic illness on the labour market, recognition of problems, which they deal with in their work life, and identification of current possibilities, which are offered to people with psychotic illness on the labour market. The purpose of the diploma thesis is finding the limits and precautions, which could help them enter the labour market. It provides basic view of two psychotic illnesses, schizophrenia and affective disorder of personality. Both illnesses are discussed with regard to their symptoms, cause of origin and progression of the disease, focusing on their employability. The diploma thesis sums up the employment situation of people with psychotic illness and the attitude of society towards them. Empirical survey verifies the established hypothesis and analyzes the results of the questionnaire survey among the patients of Psychiatric hospital Bohnice. Employee Education in the Process of Adaptation

5 ABSTRACT The presented thesis, which is complemented with a case study, deals with education of employees in the process of adaptation. Attention is paid to the theoretical anchoring of this issue by specialised literature. On the theoretical level, the thesis outlines adaptation and adaptation process, employee training as well as education of employees who are in the adaptation process. This theme is deliberately shown in connections and actual context through introduction of the system of education of employees in the adaptation process as it is set in a selected company. It discusses the way of identification of educational needs, and the planning, implementation as well as subsequent evaluation of the education. The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive view of education of employees in the process of adaptation, and to find out within empirical research how the system of education of employees in adaptation process is set in a specific selected company. Experimental University for Grandparents and Grandchildren Activities in the Context of Intergenerational Learning

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou mezigeneračního programu s "Experimentální univerzita pro prarodiče a vnoučata" kontextu mezigeneračního učení mezigeneračních vztahů. Práce je rozdělena do pěti kapitol. První kapitola se věnuje současných prarodičů a dětí. Druhá kapitola navazuje problematikou mezigeneračních vztahů a zabývá se ubýváním přirozených neračních interakcí a mezigenerační solidarity ve společnosti v důsledku společenských změn. V návaznosti na to je v kapitole zdůrazněn význam mezigeneračního vztahu mezi prarodičem a vnoučetem. Třetí kapitola představuje koncept mezigeneračního učení a blíže se věnuje mezigeneračnímu učení v rodině. Čtvrtá kapitola se zaměřuje mezigenerační uvádí typy a přínosy mezigeneračních programů a jmenuje některé existující mezigenerační programy v ČR. Further Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing People

This thesis deals with further education of deaf and hard of hearing people. Focus of the thesis is on possibilities of further education for these people in the Czech Republic and identification of their participation in it. Theoretical knowledge of hearing impairment is used in the thesis. Emphasis is put on differences among deaf and hard of hearing people. These differences are caused by diverse severity and type of hearing impairment and different communication systems used by deaf and hard of hearing people. The thesis deals with the impact of differences mentioned above on further education opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing people. Initial education of these people, their professional participation and connection of both to further education is concerned. Knowledge of further vocational education, hobby education and civic education is used in the thesis. Part of the thesis is dedicated to analysis of further education opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing people provided by organizations which support them. Selected Aspects of the Active Aging among Students of the University of the Third Age

This bachelor thesis deals with selected aspects of the concept of active aging in the context of education at the University of the Third Age. The thesis is divided into two parts - the first part consists of four chapters and presents basic thematic units (age and aging, theoretical concepts concerning age and aging, active aging) using domestic and foreign literature. The work defines the concepts of age, aging and older adult, summarizes related demographic contexts, and presents the Universities of the Third Age and their role in education of older adults. It also presents the concept of active aging and its development and three other concepts related to active aging (healthy, successful and productive aging) using mainly foreign sources. The concept of active aging is then brought closer to the point of view of several international organizations and, consequently, its key aspects are outlined. The second part of the thesis contains quantitative survey among students of the University of the Third Age and focuses on previously defined aspects, especially on participation in the labour market, participation in physical activities, participation in volunteering and other possibilities of active leisure time in old age. Activation of Elderly in an Environment of Social Services

The diploma is dedicated to the activation of seniors with dementia. The aim of the work is to outline the issue of progress and benefit of activation in seniors with dementia. The theoretical part deals with the theme of aging and aging with respect to various theoretical definitions. I have guided the dementia chapter, which is one of the most common problems of the aging population. I also deal with the overview of the social services that focus to seniors. At the end of the theoretical part I outline the benefits of activation of seniors with dementia and provide an overview of commonly used therapies in social care facilities. In the practical part I focused on the activities carried out in two residential establishments with seniors with dementia. For my research, I have chosen a qualitative approach and a semi- structured interview technique with residential workers. The output from the research is a discussion in which I describe the comparison of theoretical and factual information and propose other possibilities for research in this field.

The thesis The Reflection of Eugenic attempts in Local Special Pedagogical Theory and Practice deals with the impact of Czech eugenic movement on forming of special schooling, institutional care and generally conditioning attitudes towards disabled people at the turn of the I9lh and 20th centuries-and in the first half of 20th century in Czechoslovakia. The target of the work is to explain the interrelation of the eugenic research of pathological genetically conditioned defects and the development of special care of a disabled person. The introductory part of the text is concentrated on the definition of the scientific field which is the eugenics and the classical eugenism. The research is inspired by the eugenics of Francis Galton (1822-191 I) the English scientist who qualified the eugenics as a relevant scientific discipline which studies social factors which either make better or make worse gender characteristics of next generations of a human being. Eugenics came out of the synthesis of three ways of recognizing: a presumed idea about biological degeneration of people and social and cultural failure of a human society, Darwin's theory of natural selection as a universal mechanism of evolution and revealing of essential rules of heredity and development of modern Mendel's genetics after the year 1900....
