The role of the civic organizations in the life of the small municipalities

Title: The role of the civic organizations in the life of the small municipalities Objectives: The main objective is to evaluate the relationship between civil society organizations and representatives of public administration in terms of their common aspiration to build cohesion in the former Association of Municipalities Neveklovsko. Defunct micro-region is also subject to consideration of future similar institutions. Methods: This multi-case study is based on analysis of data collected in selected community association Neveklovsko. The project will also draw information from public printed materials. This project will be based on semi-structured interviews with the mayors of municipalities and chosen representatives of civic associations. Results: We found that all municipalities of examined micro-region realize the importance and interest groups in the villages. Municipalities are trying to make these voluntary organizations to promote and ensure better social life of the inhabitants. Recently, the municipalities of the former micro-region worked together again in the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the eviction of Neveklovsko. Recreating of micro-region is not in a sight. Any municipalities do not agree with the financing and therefore they have no further interest in this integration....

The active lifestyle of undergraduates (students of The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU in Prague) The main aim of this study was to investigate what opinions, attitudes and practices of students of FEE CTU change and develop during the university studies in selected dimensions of an active lifestyle. It was done by the mixed research. The main research was carried out by using the method of repeated cross-sectional quest, when the incoming students to the first volume in 2007 in the count of 625 were immediately underwent the questionnaire quest after their entering to the school in October in 2007 and students of higher volumes in the count of 581 then at least after 4 passed semesters of their studies in May and June in 2008. Changes between the two groups were proved by "effect size", which was calculated in each indicator as the difference of relative frequencies of "median categories" of both files. Spatial and material conditions applicable to physical activities of young adolescents living in Central Bohemia Region The major objective of dissertation thesis was to explore the continuity of spatial and material conditions and affiliation to physical activities of individuals aged 12-15 years, i.e. young adolescents, living in municipalities, around the area of Central Bohemia Region (population 10 000-22 000) and their surroundings. The presented study was conducted predominantly as an empirical association research. The research sample consisted of 2 660 young adolescents living in five muni- cipalities in the area of Central Bohemia Region (Benešov, Beroun, Čelákovice, Kutná Hora, Neratovice) and their close surroundings. However, 2 564 properly completed questionnaires were analyzed. No direct relationship was found between the perceptions of spatial conditions, individual material equipment of young adolescents, and their attendance in physical activities. The correlation between spatial conditions applicable to locomotion activity and between locomotion activity of young adolescents reached r = -0.04. Pro splnění cíle práce byl zvolen sekvenční smíšený typ výzkumu kombinující jak kvalitativní, tak kvantitativní vědecký přístup. V první fázi výzkumu byla pomocí dotazování 11 bývalých vrcholových sportovců formou interview získána základní představa o zkoumaném fenoménu v ČR. Title: Sport as a Public Service: Equity and Efficiency of Local Sport Facilities In the Czech Republic, clubs traditionally played a key role in providing sport facilities. In recent years, the role of local authorities in sport has strengthened. Hence, there have been changes in the management of sport facilities in the context of new trends in public administration and sport participation. The thesis analyzes and evaluates current modes of provision of public sport facilities as the consequence of these changes. The examined issue is narrowed down to the two theoretical concepts - sport equity and efficiency of sport facilities. These are perceived as a part of the performance of sport facilities (see Liu et al., 2009 or Kung and Taylor, 2010). The first part of the thesis aims to test the effect of different forms of management of sports facilities on the sport equity score in the framework of institutional analysis (Houlihan, 2005). On the basis of the original instrument for measuring of sport equity, the survey is carried out. The future of motocross sport in the Czech Republic

Title: The Future of Motocross sport in the Czech Republic Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to assess chosen factors influencing international success in motocross in the Czech Republic within the current system and development in the previous 40 years. Methods: This is a mixed research. The qualitative and quantitative research methods were used. The semi-structured interviews were made with three experts from motocross sport. Two of them were representatives of the Autoclub of the Czech Republic and one was from regional motocross center. The electronic interrogation method for Czech elite motocross riders and document analysis were also used. Results: Motocross was a very successful sport in the history of the Czech Republic. The results showed that even though funds are important in the motocross, the organisation of this sport in the Czech Republic is still primarily based on voluntariness. There is no promotion of motocross in the Czech Republic, so there is also a lack of popularity and funding. The survey showed dissatisfaction of motocross riders with the work of the Autoclub, riders do not feel support and also negatively evaluated communication from Autoclub. Title: Women in decision making bodies in Czech sport (focus on federations of Czech Sport Union) Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis based on existing theoretical knowledge is find out what is the representation of women in management positions of sports associations is, to reveal the reasons or fears of women to become sports officials and to assess the possibilities or interest in becoming part of management structures. Methods: The main method is the questionnaire survey method. Women in the management structures of sports associations were asked to answer particular set of questions. Contacts for the interviewed women were obtained by analyzing secondary data from the websites of individual sports associations. Results: Due to the secondary data analysis the numerical representation of women and men as sports officials was determined. However, the numbers are rough regarding the lack of union numerical data. Both, the analysis and the questionnaire survey confirmed the numerical superiority of men in almost all unions. In most cases, women also state they work voluntarily within the union and are most represented between the ages of 36 and 60.They find reasons for low interest in becoming a sports officials mainly because the activity takes too much time and the main obstacles include...

Methods: Knowledge is achieved through philosophical reasoning and arguments. Conclusion: The freedom of young athlete can be enhanced or restricted unintentionally or intentionally by various parties in everyday sport environment. Sustainable development of tourism in Dolní Morava destination

Topic: Sustainable development of tourism in the Dolní Morava destination Objectives: The main aim of the thesis is to warn about the negative impacts of tourism, based on an evaluation of the destination's present state of development. The conclusions of the thesis could contribute to the destination's future sustainable development. Methods: In the research part of this work, which has an empirical character, methods of data collection and methods of data analysis and interpretation were used. Two methods and specific techniques for collecting of primary data were used: qualitative questioning (semi- structured interview) and quantitative questioning (questionnaire). The method of content analysis was used for secondary data collection of and, together with statistical analysis, as a method of data analysis and interpretation. Results: Over the course of the last 15 years, Dolní Morava has become a dynamically developing popular tourist destination, renowned in the entire country, thanks mainly to its outstanding natural conditions, modern sports infrastructure including two skiing areas, and development of tourist activities. Title: Objective barriers and initiation of adults' recreational sport -case of Hradec Králové city Objectives: The aim of the work is to find out the possibilities and offer in matter of sport activities and recreational sport activities of the adult population. The emphasis is on organised activities and their forms on the example city of Hradec Kralove. Also the aim is to find out the interest of the population in Hradec Kralove in both spontaneous and organised sport activities. Furthermore, another goal is to reveal the satisfaction of the target group in the offer of sports and at the same time to define possible obstacles that are mostly the reason for the adult population not to do sports at their free time. Methods: The research combines both quantitative and qualitative methods. In order to reveal the offer in sports activities an analysis was made. Sources of this analysis were mostly the accessible documents and the web sites of the organisations, in some cases also telephone questionnaire.
