Fertility and preschool childcare in the Czech Republic and chosen European countries Abstract The objective of this study is to compare level of fertility and accessibility of childcare in the Czech Republic and chosen countries during period 1998-2014, and also to evaluate Czech Republic among chosen states. Furthermore aim of this study is also to evaluate whether the Barcelona Targets in childcare are in the chosen states met. Countries for this study were chosen on the basis of typology of family policy, they include France, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Portugal and Austria. Data used in this study are primarily from the Human Fertility Database, Eurostat Database, and OECD Family Database. For analyzing fertility and accessibility of childcare are used mainly indicators of the total fertility rate, decomposition of general fertility rate and enrollment rates in pre-primary education. Moreover indexes summarizing key features of family policies and preschool childcare are computed for year 2011. In the context of level of fertility two groups of countries are defined. France, the United Kingdom and Sweden are countries with higher level of fertility while Austria, Portugal and the Czech Republic are countries with lower level of fertility. Process and timing of cardiovascular revolution in selected European countries Abstract Structure of mortality according to age, sex and causes of death is changing over time. Several authors are trying to describe or generalize these changes and create theories or concepts about the changes in mortality structure. One of these concepts is cardiovascular revolution. This concept describes changes in mortality in Europe is the second half of 20th century. Nevertheless in some European countries these changes are still in progress. The concept of cardiovascular revolution concerns the decrease of cardiovascular disease mortality. Within cardiovascular diseases the highest mortality is caused by ischemic heart diseases. The prevalence of some chronic or degenerative diseases is not decreasing or is slightly increasing and overall mortality shifts to higher ages. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate process and timing of cardiovascular revolution in selected European countries. The objective was achieved by means of interpretation of the basic demographic methods. In the first part of this thesis were these methods calculated and presented for every single group of causes of death separately. Transforming the composition of families and households in the 19th and 20th centuries in a selected area of the Czech Lands Abstract The aim of this work is to analyze changes in the size and composition of families and households in the 19th and 20th centuries in the South Bohemian town of Soběslav. The research is based on a comparison of data obtained excerption of census in 1869, 1880 and 1910. The first part of the demographic analysis focuses on the assessment of the size and structure of the population by age, sex, family status and nationality. In the second part the survey data from individual census are processed for individual households and families. The notion of familly and household is based on the basis of cohabitation. The division of households by the P. Laslett was used.
The demographic development of the population in the city of Litoměřice in the years 1700-1799

The demographic development of the population in the city of Litoměřice in the years 1700-1799 Abstract The aim of Thesis is capturing the development of natural change in city of Litomerice and its suburbs in the 18th century and characterizing the basic demographic indicators. Absolute number of marriages, births and deaths was found by using Name excerpts from parish registers. Based on the aggregate method, the data was classified according to the needs analysis for individual years or decades. The development of natural change of Litoměřice was compared with the results of local probes in southern Bohemia, on the estate Stahlavy, in Usti nad Labem and in the cities of Frydek and Mistek. Comparator sites were chosen to represent different areas as well as geographically close or distant cities. Results of comparation confirmed the different demographic developments in urban and rural areas and showed the influence of geographical distance of each city. Pregnancy, childbirth and child care during the first years of the life in the early-modern noble household in the light of ego-documents

The bachelor thesis investigates the daily life of the Czech Early-Modern nobility during the period of pregnancy, childbirth, early childhood and especially iťs picture in ego-documents. On the basis of enunciation of the epistolary material, family memoirs and diaries describes essential aspects of the reception of this life cycle with reference to the specifics of the noble background and with emphasis on the differences or resemblances of present time. It observes both woman and man views of this problem and tries to implicate the significance of a child for the family, the importance of the christening, the choice of servants, the ways of health complication treatment and facing up to the death.
A child as a victim. Murders of children committed of their mothers in the 2nd half of the 19th century

The article deals with murders of children, however it doesn´t concern infanticidium, but such delinquencies in which a victim was an older child. The author constructs a typology of murderesses basic on theirs motives. She observes their punishments too.
