EU Structural funds with the view to cooperation of frontier regions South Bohemian and Bavaria

The submitted bachelor thesis deals with czech-german cross-border cooperation of South Bohemian region and federal state of Bavaria within the frame of the EU structural policy. In the first part of the thesis is introduced structural policy with its all aspects and its implementation in the area of Czech Republic. Second part, which creates the main core of the thesis, is focused on cross-border cooperation of those two neighbouring regions. Firstly is described the surveyed area regarding the development of mutual relations. More space is related to analysis of current state and level of their cooperation. The most attention is payed to ongoing operational programme Czech Republic-the Independent State of Bavaria 2007-2013, especially its actual state of drawing funds of EU and its organizational structure. In the final part of the thesis there are presented results of own inquiry. The inquiry was carried out in a form of conducted interviews with significant subjects of given program, whereof gained knowledge and opinions communicate to the reader valuable information from reality. In conclusion there is evaluated the whole situation in the surveyed area, there are highlighted positives and negatives of the program and last but not least there is prediction of future development of the European cross-border cooperation.
Foreign direct investment in the global economy in the crisis period from 2008 to 2010

This thesis analyzes the effects of the global economic crisis on foreign direct investment in the period from 2008 to 2010 and describes changes in trends in FDI flows with respect to the previous period. In particular, how direct investors were affected and how they have changed their activities, which in turn affects FDI flows. The emphasis is on comparing how the role of developed and developing countries is changing. There are also presented estimates of FDI flows in the future.

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to characterize EU Development Policy in global context. The first part is focused on the definition of basic terms. It characterizes developing economies, the phenomenon of poverty and different types of development cooperation. The second part provides a comprehensive overview of the EU Development Policy, it's history and progression, the institutional and financial framework. The third part discusses the Czech republic's participation in international development cooperation before and after EU accession.
Iceland and the European Integration Processes

The aim of this thesis is to describe the relationship between Iceland and the European integration, define Iceland's attitude towards it and explain the factors that shape this attitude. The thesis consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, basic characteristics of Iceland are laid out and an analysis of the factors that influence the country's attitude towards the European integration is conducted. The second chapter is dedicated to the development of mutual relations between Iceland and the European integration. This chapter covers period from the beginnings of the integration to the establishment of the EEA in the 1990s. The third chapter deals exclusively with the relationship between the EU and Iceland; some special attention is paid to the circumstances under which the Icelandic application to the EU was submitted as well as to the successive developments.
Selected issues of the contemporary situation and perspectives of Euro

This bachelor's thesis deals with the description of the situation after the economic and financial crisis in the European Union, with the focus placed on the crisis od Euro and the Eurozone and finding a solution to this crisis. The first part of the thesis characterises the specific structure and instruments of the monetary policy in the European Economic and Monetary Union, whilst the second part focuses on the impacts of the crises upon the European Union and consequently the planned and accepted precautions and measures that aim to improve and stabilise the situation in the European Union and strengthen it for the future.
Immigration and immigration policy of the EU

This thesis deals with the development of European immigration policy in connection with the migration flows within the European Union since the creation of the European Community with emphasis on the current period. The first chapter describes the development of European immigration cooperation since the Second World War to the present. The second chapter gives an overview of the evolution of migration flows within the European Union. A separate section concerns the impact of current financial and economic crisis on these flows. The third chapter highlights some of the problems that immigration causes in certain countries. In conclusion of the thesis possible future developments in the field of immigration policy are outlined.

The problematic of Turkey´s admittance into the EU

The European Union ran in the process of expanding into one of the most controversial decisions of all time. This is a very inconsistent move in terms of political and economic, social, but also geographically. Does the EU accept Turkey among the members of of his family? In my thesis I will try to answer this tricky question. I will focus on the positive and negative aspects of the Turkey's admittance. On one hand I will try to refer to the economic and political benefits, on the other hand I will focus on the current and future impacts of the coming Turkey's access into the EU.
Influence of the division of Cyprus on Turkey’s accession to the EU

The bachelor thesis deals with an influence of divided Cyprus on Turkish accession to the EU. The aim of the work is to find out whether Cyprus is the real obstacle of the further enlargement. The text is divided into three sections. The first one attends to Cyprus from its far history to the present time, when the island is divided into two parts. The second one of the text deals with Turkey. It contains the significance of Turkey not only for the EU but also for other countries of the region and the world. The last third part is made up of positions of single interested members -- Cyprus, Turkey and the EU. All these participants have an influence on a possible reunification of the island and on the further fate of the EU enlargement.
The development of Austria's economy in the context of the world economic crisis - the development in years 2007 until 2009

This bachelor thesis deals with the development of Austria's economy in the context of the world economic crisis - in years 2007 - 2009. Austria is characterized with comparative small but stable economy with high trade and capital openness particularly towards countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Austria's economy was not influenced by the crisis so much in comparison with other OECD and EU countries. Nevertheless it has experienced the worst crisis within last 50 years. The connection with countries in Central and Eastern Europe is posing considerable risks for Austria economy.
