Process and rate of disability among seniors

The most characteristic feature of the demographic development in the Czech Republic and other developed countries is population ageing. The aim of the thesis "The process and rate of disability among seniors" was to determine the extent to which disability interferes with the lives of the seniors and to map the development, progress and conditions of the pension system. After an introductory overview of basic concepts, a part of the thesis deals with a theoretical analysis of the European framework of social security of seniors and another part is concerned with the reform of disability pensions in the Czech Republic. The focus is also on the forms of care for disabled pensioners. The last chapter of a theoretical part deals with deinstitutionalization. The empirical part analyzes the areas related to the development of population structure, administrative agenda, overview of pensions according to the WHO diagnosis groups, total overview of disability pensions, the development of the structure of pensions, financing of pension administration, and the average age of retired people. Otázka zaměstnanosti se stala jedním z hlavních témat evropské politiky. Prioritním záměrem není pouze předehnat ostatní mocnosti v produktivitě práce a zaručit tak svým občanům blahobyt. Evropě jde o udržitelnost jejích sociálních systémů, které stojí na základech evropského osvícenství vyvinutého z křesťanské tradice a solidarity. Evropa musí ze své integrace vytěžit co nejvíce, protože demografický vývoj a pomalý ekonomický růst nutí k hledání nových řešení. Příznivý ekonomický rozvoj a vysoká produktivita práce 60. let minulého století byla garancí minimální evropské nezaměstnanosti. Od 80. let 20. století se objevují nové potřeby restrukturalizace trhů práce. Začíná se realizovat politika zaměstnanosti, která má za úkol vytvářet nová pracovní místa a definovat pozici pracovníků na pracovním trhu. The Principles of Gratuity and Nonprofit in Social Services in Czech Republic

This work targets the theoretical concept of social services system, which is based on the free market's principles and delimitated the regulation role of the state. The work targets the economical aspects of social services system and brings new views of financial flow in the system. Further, the work aims these services, where stay the client as an customer or submitter of the service. The general part reflects the current system of social services (1. chapter), which is based on relatively exacting state regulation and on the subvention system. Financial flows in the system are jumble now, there are combined the client pays and the state subventions without legal claim. Due to the providers cannot create long term strategy of social services development. Further, the subvention system disadvantages any legal forms of providers (NGO's, firms and providers out of the mode of social services' act. The specifics of violence against women without shelter

The diploma thesis is focused on the specifics of violence against the homeless women. The thesis is divided in theoretical and empirical part. Theoretical part is further divided into three chapters, structured from the general description of homelessness to the specifics of violence that is happening on the homeless women. The goal of the empirical part is also to identify barriers and preconditions for the solution of violence and recommendations for optimization of help with violence. The empirical part is based on two data sets, one of them is social workers/curators, second is homeless women. The research is qualitative and is conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews. In the final part of empirical research, a comparative analysis of both data sets is performed. From the analysis are derived the conclusions and recommendations on how to contribute to setting more effective means of solving violence against the homeless women.
The role of social worker in hospital

(in English): The work deals with issue of social worker's role in hospital from point of view of medical social workers working with senior citizens. In theoretical part is presented profession of medical social worker and its specifics in Czech Republic: history, legislation, education, competences and a role of medical social worker in multidisciplinary team. It is focused also on health care and social services provided to the target group of senior citizens in our country. Social housing policy towards families with difficult access to housing market

This thesis is focused on social housing for families as a specific housing policy instrument for securing housing of families with children who are for various reasons disadvantaged on the free housing market. In the thesis social housing is understood as a way towards fulfilment of the right to adequate housing and at the same time as an instrument for supporting families in their function of securing healthy development of their children in a safe environment. The aim of the thesis is to contribute to the actual debate on the creation of the state policy of social housing. It is done mainly by the mapping of housing and social policy on the state and local level. Local policy of social housing is explored particularly in five city districts of the capital city of Prague. The research draws data from documents of the city districts and interviews with the officials from property departments and social departments, in particular with the heads of child welfare sections. The research shows that the access of families with children to the instruments of local housing policy is always in some way limited. The city districts vary in the level of these limits. (in English): The theme of this thesis is State social policy on material need in the Czech republic and the United Kingdom. The historical part describes the main trends in state social policies on material need in both countries and their development since 1945 with focus on benefit systems. The second part describes in comparative perspective benefit systems and recent reforms of means - tested minimum income benefits, support benefits for households on low income like housing benefits and basic conditions their claimants (especially those "out of work") have to meet. In both countries, governments who started their terms in office in 2010, initiated reforms with intentions to simplify the systems, intesify the work incentives and to reduce the spendings on means- tested benefits. The reader is introduced to basic concepts and main aspects of these reforms and critical views and comments, expressed about their implementation.

Models of public family support by cash benefits. Comparative study of models in the Czech Republic, Finland and United Kingdom This thesis is a comparative study of different models of welfare available for the family unit in the Czech Republic, Finland and in the United Kingdom. It considers many different aspects, and in the first two chapters looks at what characterizes a family, the social strcutures that influenced the formation of the family unit, and existing European principles which formed the basis upon which family assistance was modeled. These principles are divided into solidarity, citizenship, corporate, and liberal. The ensuing chapters discuss family politics within the individual states. Chapters are divided into parts such as historic, present and organization of public family policy. Public welfare in the Czech Republic focuses on low-income households and distributing income assistance from public funds. In Finland family welfare is focused mainly on ensuring the healthy development development of children, which is made possible through financial assistance, family leave and programs offering help for families. Ensuring Access to Basic Health Care for Children and Young People from Socially Disadvantaged Backgrounds

(in English): The thesis deals with the current state of the functioning of the health care system for children and youth in the Czech Republic with regard to the possible consequences of failure to provide basic health care resulting from difficult life situations, and therefore closely related to the social sphere. The main objective is to explore whether the current system is functional enough that there are no socially disadvantaged individuals "falling through a net". The theoretical part deals with the lives of socially disadvantaged individuals, with a focus on the family and its specifics. Furthermore the work deals with pediatric and dental preventive and curative health care. In addition to discussing basic parameters of the care, there are analyzed the risks for the eventual malpractice. Solution of the research uses a qualitative method using interviews with instructions. Not only was the research sample composed of individuals with experience with social disadvantage - particularly parents with children from shelter homes where one can assume such experience, but also practicing doctors who come into the very first contact with children the most often - pediatricians and dentists so that the view on the situation is as complex as possible.
