Plants of the tropical and subtropical regions

In my bachelor thesis I directed on individual plants of tropics and subtropics and I pointed to their use in today's world. I divided the work into some parts,which point to general charakteristics of tropical and subtropical climate belt and I desribe individual plants formations of the tropics and subtropics. In the next part are individual plants, where I pointed to their botanical charakteristics, history and properties using and I added everything with their pictures. In the last part I summarized informations from the textbook of primary and secundary schools and arranged it in a tabular chart.
Plants alcaloids in history

In my undergraduate work, I focused on the alkaloids contained in plants that occur secondary metabolism of plants. Describe here their use and abuse in different stages of human existence. There is also framing the concept of plant alkaloids in the various series of textbooks of natural history and description of representatives of the plants that we have chosen on the basis of what is mentioned in textbooks.
Substances Contained in Plants of the Nightshade Family (*Solanaceae*) and their Usage in Biology Teaching

The aim of the thesis titled "Substances contained in Plants of the Nightshade Family (Solanaceae) and their Usage in Biology Teaching" is to familiarize the reader with basic toxicological and pharmacological terms contained in the information on Nightshade plants (Solanaceae). Further it introduces Nightshade plants (Solanaceae) and their substances in more detail. It describes the use and abuse of these plants in poisoning, usage in traditional medicine, homeopathy and modern medicine. It outlines the history of the use and especially abuse of plants containing alkaloids. It also describes options for didactic use through laboratory work and assesses and compares the quality of information available in the literature for high school students. Information contained in this work can be practically used in teaching subjects such as toxicology, pharmacology and pharmacognosy at secondary schools with focus on the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Environmental education programme "Every hill has different plants"

The programme ,JEvery hill has different plants'' is outdoor programme and is tailormade to Prokop Valley in Prague. The programme is focused on the recognizing of plant species, the adaptation of plants and the rules for protected territory. The programme lasts three hours and is concipiated for students of higher grade of elementary school as well as students of lawer grade of secondary school. The participans of the programme always play the main role in each activity. The activities are builded-up on cooperation and game. The programme makes use of animated nature. It works with concrete botanic species.
Practical use of Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science Charles University in Prague for Education of Lower Grades of Primary School

The theme of this diploma thesis is Practical use of the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague for Education of Lower Grades of Primary Schools. The main purpose is to chart current status of a theme of botanical garden in curricular documents, namely The Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and School Educational Programmes of chosen elementary schools located in Prague 2. Further, the presence of this theme is explored in the sample of schoolbooks for the 4th and the 5th grades of elementary schools. There is a questionnaire survey realized among teachers of the 4th and the 5th grades in the schools listed above. The aim is to find out, how much the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague is used for practical education. The results are shown in charts and graphs. The readiness of this botanical garden for practical education of lower grades pupils is found out by an interview with its vice-director. The next part of thesis contains planning and realizing a lesson with the 5th grade pupils. The lesson demonstrates a possibility of more frequent practical education in the botanical garden. Work with Natural Objects in Botany Lessons at Grammar Schools

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na práci s přírodninami v hodinách botaniky na gymnáziu. Teoretická část je věnována roli přírodnin vRVP, konkrétně klíčovým kompetencím, které je možné systematickou prací s přírodninami rozvíjet. Podstatná část se soustřeďuje na přírodniny jako na hlavní didaktický prostředek ve vyučovacím procesu z pohledu hlavních didaktických zásad. Dále je pozornost věnována organizačním formám, které slouží jako podpora práce s přírodninami. V souvislosti s přírodninami a zejména jejich sběrem jsme nezapomněli zmínit záležitosti týkající se ochrany přírody.
Activation Theory for the Instruction of Botany at the Odolená Voda Primary School

Key words: educational method, eco-centre, educational pathway, cross-country activities. The thesis The Concept of Active Botany Education with Students' Participation at the Junior School Odolena Voda focuses especially on formation of educational pathways in the surroundings of the Junior School which are guided by work- and methodical sheets. The thesis considers ideas of cross-country botanic activities and includes a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire examines whether teachers use the educational methods activating the students and whether they are interested in extension of botanic educational materials. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with organisational forms and methods that help to increase the activity during botanic classes. Moreover, the thesis compares botanic textbooks that focus on cross-country observations and experiments. Physiology of Plants in Elementary School Botany

This thesis on the topic "Physiology of Plants in Elementary School Botany" consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on a didactical analysis of the textbooks currently in use and integration of this topic in the valid curricular documentation. It also includes a research part, in which the possibilities of material visual aids used in science teaching are identified. The practical part makes use of these observations. A interactive CD, which includes worksheets on the main areas of plant physiology, has been created based on these observations. The worksheets are in educational text form, include gap-filling activities, and practical - with appropriate experiments. To these, methodology notes for teacher are supplied.
