This thesis is concerned with ABS algorithm project for commercial vehicles. In the first part the reader is introduced to the history and first usage of the anti-blocking system, its principles and main functions. There are also driving algorithms and functionality system control. The second part is dedicated to the dynamic model, programs and ADAMS Car and MATLAB Simulink interfaces. It also contains the description of the algorithm, its parameters and basic functionality assay. Simulation, program interlink, testing and tuning are also described. The concluding part deals with results and their assessment.
Torque Vectoring Differentials for Heavy Commercial Vehicles
Fojtášek, Jan ; Magdolen,, Ľuboš (referee) ; Tůma, Jiří (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with the assessment of the yaw moment control via active differential effects to the heavy commercial vehicle dynamics. Summarized are the findings about design of active differential, control algorithms and theoretical assumptions about overall effects to the vehicle dynamics. According to the described theory the own concept of the active differential for experimental heavy commercial vehicle is proposed. The main part of the work is focused on the effects of the active differential on vehicle manoeuvrability, controllability, stability and limits analysis. For this purpose, multibody dynamic model of the complete vehicle with standard open differential is assembled and results of the selected manoeuvre simulations validated by measurements of the real vehicle characteristics. The validated vehicle model is then extended by the model of the active differential with control algorithm. According to the simulations results the theoretical presumptions are confirmed and the effects of the active differential on vehicle dynamics in steady and transition states are evaluated. Based on the described findings the overall improvement of the vehicle dynamics by this technology, feasibility of the proposed concept and main advantages and disadvantages are evaluated.
Brake systems for heavy commercial vehicles
Andrle, David ; Hejtmánek, Petr (referee) ; Fojtášek, Jan (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to create a comprehensive overview of freight vehicle brake systems. The thesis is divided into six major parts. The first part deals with a brief history of the development of brakes. The second part focuses on the basic division of brake systems according to their use and energy source. The following part describes the indirect brake system. The fourth part deals with the individual types of retarder braking systems. The fifth part deals with the electric brake system and its subsystems. The last part focuses on the possible trends in the development of brake systems.
Analysis of acceleration and deceleration characteristics of the vehicle
Treschl, Jakub ; Fojtášek, Jan (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
This master's thesis designs acceleration and deceleration measurement method by a test drive. It contains also measurement realisation, design of the computational model and acquired data analysis and evaluation.
Development and influence of the weight of cars and motorcycles
Valtrová, Martina ; Fojtášek, Jan (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis contains the description of the evolution of weight of automobiles and motorcycles. The first chapter contains a description of automobile dynamics and the influence of weight on dynamic properties of a vehicle. To describe the evolution of weight better, there are more detailed descriptions of weight evolutions of certain types of vehicles. The research of historical evolution and technology used today serves as the basis for the main outcome of this thesis, which is a prediction of the future development. This is the content of the last chapter.
Modern technologies of friction disc clutches design and production
Chaura, Václav ; Zháňal, Lubor (referee) ; Fojtášek, Jan (advisor)
The work is summing up the knowledge about different types of clutch, describes its function and fields of the use. Further is focused on the analyses of specific parts and describes possible constructional solutions. Second part of the work is focused on design and manufacturing. In conclusions is outlined the further development of car clutches.
Longitudinal dynamics of cars
Porteš, Petr ; Fojtášek, Jan (referee) ; Zháňal, Lubor (advisor)
Aim of this thesis is to find optimum gear ratios for completing one lap in formula-type racing car in minimum possible time. Thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. In the first part basic knowledge of longitudinal dynamics of racing cars is summarized, in the second part gear ratio optimization algorithm created in MATLAB is presented.
Strain Gauge Suspensions of Formula Student
Stariak, Gabriel ; Fojtášek, Jan (referee) ; Porteš, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with examinations of forces which are acting from road surface on tyres. The aim is to design and build measuring circuit which measure forces in front suspension. The thesis deals with designing of mathematical model in addition describes problematic of strain gauge sensors, their calibration and verification measure in details. The results are data obtained from static and dynamic measurement and outputs from multi-body system softwares. The results are evaluated and compared at conclusion.
Suspension Systems of Commercial Vehicles
Němeček, Vojtěch ; Dlugoš, Jozef (referee) ; Fojtášek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis follows up suspensions of lorry types. Thesis contains comprehensive overview of all commonly manufactured springs and shock-absorbers. Thesis is divides into five main parts. The first chapter is about oscillations, quality of suspensions and about other points connected to this theory. The second chapter has detailed overview of main types of suspensions. All types of currently used suspensions are listed, including coil suspensions, leaf suspensions, air suspensions and also shock-absorbers. The third chapter combine suspensions on different types of axles with their structure. The fourth chapter contains future of suspensions and electronic systems. In the conclusion is mentioned subjective evaluation of different types of vehicles
Conceptual Design of the Complete Hydraulic Tipping System
Vávra, Daniel ; Tobiáš, Martin (referee) ; Fojtášek, Jan (advisor)
The main topic of this work is to clarify the basic types of tipping bodies of heavy trucks and a simplified design of the tipping hydraulics. The first part mentions the most common types of tipping bodies and hydraulic systems. Furthermore, the principles and parameters of the used hydraulic components are clarified. Within the design of the hydraulics of the tipping body of a one-sided tipper, the basic relations for the derivation of the kinematics of movement, the design of the hydraulic cylinder and all other components are described. At the end of the work is described the analysis of temperatures during the process of tilting the body and instructions for operation and maintenance.
