Head Pose Estimation and Tracking

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku detekce a sledování polohy hlavy v obraze jako jednu s možností jak zlepšit možnosti interakce mezi počítačem a člověkem. Hlavním přínosem diplomové práce je využití inovativních hardwarových a softwarových technologií jakými jsou Microsoft Kinect, Point Cloud Library a CImg Library. Na úvod je představeno shrnutí předchozích prací na podobné téma. Následuje charakteristika a popis databáze, která byla vytvořena pro účely diplomové práce. Vyvinutý systém pro detekci a sledování polohy hlavy je založený na akvizici 3D obrazových dat a registračním algoritmu Iterative Closest Point. V závěru diplomové práce je nabídnuto hodnocení vzniklého systému a jsou navrženy možnosti jeho budoucího zlepšení.
The Philosophical Hall of the Strahov Monastery in Prague - historical development and restoration

The bachelor thesis follows a historical development and conservation of the Philosophical Hall of the library of Premonstratensian Monastery at Strahov, whose exclusive interior equipment was transferred out from the sister monastery in Louka near Znojmo and thus protected againts the destructive effects of the Josef II reforms. The new emerging building of the library at Strahov was adapted for the monumental architectural bookcases in the spirit of the late Baroque Classicism style. Abbot V. J. Mayer, the main initiator of the birth of Philosophical Hall, came with the idea to purchase the Louka's cabinets. He wished to preserve the most authentic form of the Biblioteka in Louka and so he called up F. A. Maulbertsch to realize the similar ceiling fresco. In 2010, the shell and interior restoration was completed, which brought a number of key findings and also application of the recent methodological approaches of conservation.
Castellology as a historical-cultural inspiration source in art education

The dissertation thesis "Castellology as a historical-cultural inspiration source in art education", is dedicated to the historical discipline castellology and its developing aspects shared with art education and general education. One of the main parts of the thesis is the finding of historical connections between ancient disciplines and their intentional and functional influences in a social sense. In terms of historiography there are also some articles devoted to selected authors, whose influence was fundamental to both disciplines. The thesis surveys not only a historical point of view, but also the contemporary situation. The empirical part of the thesis is based on the theoretical part. From the information gained in terms of historiography, it was necessary to include research on a teacher's personality. The empirical research surveys the frequency and usage of themes and subjects connected with castellology in the lessons of art education by pedagogues at secondary school level in the context of their personal interest. The investigative and the theoretical parts are dedicated specifically to the Czech environment. In both cases foreign settings are only briefly covered.
Josef Václav Scheybal: a documentalist and a collector

Josef Václav Scheybal : A documentalist and a collector The diploma thesis deals with Josef Václav Scheybal (1928 - 2001) and his activity mainly in northern Bohemia. It attempts to capture all aspects Scheybal's personality, because he was a painter, graphic artist, illustrator, art historian and ethnographer. He was an expert of folk architecture and sculpture, folk furniture, technical equipment, the popular clothing, prints, folk songs, was the creator of multiple exposures. He also cooperated with the Institute of ethnography and folklore, ethnographic research, participated throughout the country, with results published regularly. His focus on folk architecture resulted in a lifetime's research and documentary work. He gathered the valuable work of drawing documents, publications of folk architecture and free of the open air. The thesis also includes his family, the father Josef Scheybal and his wife Jana Scheybalová. The functional development of the Dominican Sisters' Monastery with St. Ann church in the Old Town in Prague

The bachelor thesis describes changing of function of the church of Saint Ann, which is part of a monastery of Dominican Sisters on Anenské náměstí in Prague. This object is an example of varied exploitation of sacral spaces after church reforms of Joseph II. in 1880s. In the first part the author describes the process of the reforms and their influence on a set of chosen churches in the Prague's Old Town. Many of those churches underwent gradual change of their sacral function and started to be used for warehousing or accommodation purposes. In connection with the changes, the question of the new use of the churches and criteria for evaluation of these changes is given in the next part of the thesis. The author presents this issue on example of the development of church of St. Ann. Firstly, the history of the church and adjacent monastery until its cancellation in 1782 is presented. The following changes in the use of the church from the end of 18th century are described in the next part. In the recent time, the church is being used for the project The Prague Crossroads by Foundation VIZE 97.

Selected churches of Jan Václav Kosch in Děčín region from the monument care point of view

This bachelor thesis is focused on three late Baroque churches in the Děčín region from the heritage conservation point of view. Namely the church of St. Wenceslaus in Děčín Rozbělesy, the church of St. Francis Xavier in Děčín Bělá and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Arnoltice. All three buildings are connected with the name of the regional builder Jan Václav Kosch, whose life and work are briefly discussed in the first chapter. Following are the treatises on individual buildings. For each of them, its history and description are presented, and its current status and the possibilities for future modifications and repairs are evaluated. The aim of the thesis is to draw attention to the poor status of significant regional monuments and to outline possible steps for their renewal.
The sustainable development of historical monuments in Prague

Title: The sustainable development of historical monuments in Prague The aim of this diploma thesis is to map the influence the visiting of sights in the Prague Heritage Reservation on their condition and sustainability and to submit possible suggestions for improvement. In addition to these proposals, new possible outcomes will be added to improve the situation in the future, further new marketing products, strategies that would lead to the expansion of the sustainable development of the monuments and the care for them. The teoretical part deals with the general definition of the concept of Prague Heritage Reservation, basics statistics of tourism and the monument care itself in Prague. Another integral part of the thesis are marketing and demarketing strategies regulating the flows of visitors, which are used by individual institutions. The practical part consist predominantly of a quantitative survey, from the answers were obtained during a multi-year survey among the visitors of he city of Prague, in order to find out especially the motivation of foreign visitors to travel to Prague, the most visited places and also whether tourists are satisfied with visit. The Lednice- Valtice Cultural Landscape from the Perspective of Heritage Preservation

The Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape from the Perspective of Heritage Preservation Abstract This work deals with the Lednice- Valtice landscape which is understood as the subject of heritage protection. It emphasizes the importance of the local monuments, especially chateaux of Lednice and Valtice, which led to the inclusion of the complex on the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. It analyzes the prior development of cultural heritage and state monuments from 1945 to the present. A substantial part of the work is the period after registration to the UNESCO which evaluates the contribution of this step, especially in terms of completed projects.
