Social Business

This master thesis focuses on social business and its influence in economy. Social business as a tool to solve social problems is approximated by development aid as its subset and by human rights violations as related social problems. Human rights open a discussion of their relationship to economics and consequently development. The empirical part tests whether human rights are affected by a distribution of development aid to different sectors, namely social and economic infrastructure and services and production sectors. The panel data analysis of 30 least developed countries in three regions according to the Human Development Index over a period 2005 to 2001 brings results that flows of official development aid to the economic infrastructure and services significantly drives human rights violations. Economics of the post-sovereign state

UNIVERZITA KARLOVA V PRAZE FAKULTA SOCIÁLNÍCH VĚD Institut ekonomických studií Petra Konečná Ekonomie postsuverénního státu Bakalářská práce Praha 2011 Abstract In this bachelor thesis I focus on an influence of sovereignty to the economy of specific state. It defines what is understood under the term of sovereignty and describes various types of attitudes to the limitation of sovereignty. It presents historically attitudes of philosophers, thinkers and economists to this issue, focuses mainly on theories of natural law and emphasizes the conclusion of the social contract. It sets up possible division of sovereignty determined by limiting factors and it states several specific examples for illustration. In this thesis I show the necessity of perceiving economics in the context of other social sciences. I concentrate on taking advantage of position of post sovereign state by other economic participants through rent-seeking. I present new concepts of rent-seeking however some fundamental basis from classical point of view cannot be omitted without the loss of logic. At the end of this thesis I test an influence of composite indicators of governance on the rent-seeking behavior in the Czech Republic.

Pharmacotherapy of glaucoma

Title of diploma thesis: Pharmacotherapy of glaucoma Glaucoma is one of the main causes of blindness in the world and its prevalence is progressively increasing. An early detection and an effective therapy are very important to prevent progression of this disease. Ways of treatment involve pharmacotherapy and laser or surgical interventions. The diploma thesis is concerned with pathophysiology, classification and detection of glaucoma. The main part focuses on a medical treatment, especially on individual groups of medications, which are used from the initial stage of the disease to maximally tolerated doses. Prostaglandin analogs, which are currently used as the first line of therapy and which are used with other medications in fixed or unfixed combinations, are described in detail. Glaucoma is unfortunately incurable but it is possible to prevent its exacerbation and an irreversible loss of sight. The thesis follows up and summarizes results from international studies dealing with an effect, an effectiveness and side effects of single groups of medications. The subject of my thesis is project of mountain hotel. The building is designed as a detached house. The estate is situated in central part of the town Dolní Morava. The building has three above-ground floor and one underground floor. The roofing is solved by the flat roof.

City Hotel

The subject of this diploma thesis is a three-storey, slab-shaped object Z in the cadastral Trutnov. The building the hotel is designed for 56 persons. It is a secluded, operationally independent object, divided into several functional areas. The structural system consists of brick walls that will stand on a concrete base desce.Objekt will be covered by a single-flat roof with a slope of 3%. The project was processed using a computer program ArchiCAD.

Student Hostel

The aim of this thesis is design of an apartment building for students. The design is in the range of the documentation for designing building construction based on the decree 499/2006 Sb. as amended by decree 62/2013 Sb. The building is situated on the plots 1220, 1219/1, 1218/11 and 1218/2 in the cadastral area „Letovice“. The new building is designed to accommodate students for year-round occupancy. There is a dining room for staying students and students from nearby schools as well. In the new building are also multimedia classrooms, library, reading rooms, club rooms, gym and lecture hall available for students. In the building are 30 rooms. The capacity of the building is designed to accommodate 81 students. The building has three floors, a loft and no basement. Masonry is designed from clay blocks and floor slab is designed as a cast-in-place reinforced concrete floor structure.

Mountain Hotel with Wellness

The subject of my thesis is the design mountain guesthouse with a wellness centre, which is located in the village of Mala Morávka, at the level of documentation for construction. The new building is located in the cadastre unit Karlov pod Pradědem. This is a two floors, slab-building L-shaped with separate parking for visitors of boarding house and wellness centre. The structural system is composed of ceramic blocks Porotherm and reinforced concrete joist floor. Roof structure is made up of wooden trusses girders saddle shape. Design of mountain guesthouse with wellness centre respects the territorial plan of the village of Malá Morávka.

Legislation on treating animals in human care

1 Abstract This Master's thesis entitled Legislation on treating animals in human care compares Czech and Australian legislation in selected aspects of three categories of animals in human care - farm animals, companion animals and animals used for scientific and other research purposes. The thesis is composed of 5 main chapters. The first chapter describes sources of law regarding treating animals in human care from the perspectives of international law, European Union law, federal Czech law and Australian law. The second chapter explains basic terms - an animal and its legal status and animal in human care in Czech and Australian legislation. The third chapter focuses specifically on farm animals as a category of animals in human care as it is detailed in Czech and Australian legislation. The fourth chapter deals with companion animals in both countries' legislation. Finally, the fifth chapter describes the legal protection of animals used for scientific and other research purposes in Czech and Australian legislation. . Evaluation of the Financial Situation of the Company and Proposals for its Improvement

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the evaluation of the financial situation of the company SEALL s.r.o. during the period 2009 – 2014. Thesis consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to the characteristics mentioned company and information involving financial analysis. In the second part is already performed financial analysis, which includes calculations of selected indicators. Next comes the comparison of a company with its main competitors. Subsequently, from obtained results are processed proposals that lead to improvement of the financial situation of pursued company.

Wooden Based Hotel in Mountains

The subject of my thesis is the design of new mountain hotel based on wood, which is located at the top of Little Maple, cadastral area Trinec-Tyra, the city of Trinec, Frydek-Mistek level documentation for construction. The building has a partial basement, with three floors. The supporting system consists of three structural systems. The structural system consists of basement formwork, the first floor is made of ceramic blocks heluz, second and third floor is designed as a timber frame panel. Roof structure is made up of lattice wood trusses and gabled aisle. Proposal mountain hotel respects the territorial plan of Trinec. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on the layout, including ensuring the design to the static, architectural, energy savings and safety in the use of the building.
