Study of the main factors affecting quality in technological processes
Talanda, Ivan ; Nová, Iva (referee) ; Čech, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to theoretically describe porosity problems of casts of aluminium alloys that are made via die casting technology. The thesis is focused on influence of porosity on mechanical properties of casts. Theoretical dependencies were verified in experiment, which is based on new measured data and data witch were taken from diploma theses and science articles written by other students of the University of Technology in Brno. The samples used in experiment come from engine blocks, which were made by technology of die casting or die casting with local squeeze casting.
Mg-alloy die-castings for automotive industry
Hejduk, Oldřich ; Pacal, Bohumil (referee) ; Čech, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis dealt in the degree of the bachelor study covers Mg-alloy die-castings for automotive industry. Major destination is description properties of Mg-alloy, special properties of Mg-alloy die-castings. Experimental part of this thesis deals posibility of mensuration and calculation residual tightness on the Mg-alloy die-casting AZ91D.
Al-alloy die-castings for automotive industry
Havel, Jiří ; Nová, Iva (referee) ; Čech, Jaroslav (advisor)
This search is concentrated on Pressure-castings of aluminum alloys for the automotive industry. In the theoretical part of this topic is described in terms of technology for casting aluminum alloys with a focus on high-pressure casting of aluminum alloy AlSi9Cu3 and methods of detecting residual stress. In the experimental section is a sample of residual stress measurements on samples cast alloy AlSi9Cu3.

Structural and Mechanical Characterization of Spark Plasma Sintered Tungsten
Čech, J. ; Haušild, P. ; Kocmanová, Lenka ; Matějíček, Jiří
The main objective of this paper is to describe the microstructure and mechanical properties of spark plasma sintered tungsten. The indentation tests, which are very advantageous because of their semi-nondestructive character and low requirements on the volume of investigated material, were carried out using Berkovich and spherical indenters. Indentation techniques with spherical indenters are less frequently used than those with sharp indenters but they offer variation of strain with the indentation depth and, therefore, they could be used for determination of stress-strain curves. Local stress-strain behavior obtained by this method showed good correspondence with the results of compression tests. Observation of the microstructure and the fracture surfaces helped to explain some phenomena which occurred during the mechanical testing
Determination of mechanical properties by instrumented indentation with spherical indentor
Čech, J. ; Haušild, P. ; Nohava, J. ; Matějíček, Jiří
Mechanical properties on individual phases in spark plasma sintered tungsten-steel composites were determined by instrumented indentation with a spherical indentor. The results were processed by Oliver-Pharr method, stress-strain curves were calculated by Tabor equations.
Quantification of expenses in case of human death due to traffic accident and finding ways how to prevent them
Slánský, Josef ; Mervart, Michal (advisor) ; Čech, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis examines the issue of acceptability of a particular transportation project. It is objective is to capture the expenses which arise from a traffic accident. on this basis the goal is to express all expenses of the human death and to compare them with the specific transportation project. In addition to this, different means of accident prevention are to be figured out within the support of public safety. The whole thesis is split into four parts. The first part describes the accidents on Czech roads. The second part deals with the specific expression methodology of the human death. The third shows the real transportation project and the last section evaluates if the expenditure on the implementation of particular project exceed the expenses caused by the accident.
Enzyme Hydrolysis of Triglycerides in Segmented Flow Microdevices
Čech, J. ; Slouka, Z. ; Schrott, W. ; Přibyl, M. ; Kuncová, Gabriela
In this study, we deal with a microcapillary/microchannel reaction system for enzyme hydrolysis of triglycerides. The microdevices were fabricated by a combination of traditional techniques – UV photolithography, micromachining, hot assembling, casting and UV/O3 treatment. The water-oil emulsion was generated in a plexiglass microchip with an X-cros microchannel arrangement. Both the oil and water were pumped into the microchip by a precise syringe pumps. The oil phase was introduced into the central microchannel whereas water into the two side channels.
