Mechanisms of regulation of inhibitory factor IF1

Inhibitory factor 1 (IF1) is one of the major regulators of mitochondrial ATP synthase activity, a key enzyme of energy metabolism. Its inhibitory effects are known in conditions such as hypoxia or starvation, but the hypothesis that IF1 inhibits ATP synthase activity even under physiological conditions is still not entirely accepted. Disorders of ATP synthase regulation can be fatal to the cell and have been described, for example, in carcinogenesis and ischemia. It has also been found that silencing of the IF1 gene in pancreatic β-cells increases insulin secretion, and thus, IF1 may be important in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. The goal of this work is to summarize the current knowledge about the IF1 protein and to obtain new results that will help elucidate the mechanism by which this protein regulates mitochondrial ATP synthase. Specifically, this work deals with the ratio of IF1 protein to ATP synthase in pancreatic β-cells, depending on different culture conditions. It further investigates the occurrence of post-translational modifications of the IF1 protein in pancreatic β-cells (INS- 1E model cells), which may play a role in the regulation of IF1 activity. Comparison of the French interventions in Mali and CAR

Bachelor thesis "Comparation of French military interventions in Mali and Central African Republic" will examine problematics of French military interventions in Africa specifically in countries of the formal French colonial empire. Rational choice theory has been chosen as a theoretical base for explanation of French actions. First of all this thesis will describe deeper historical context and current French involvement in particular region. Later on the theory for explanation of contemporary French actions will be presented and it will include definition of main political, economic, social and security motives that can be universally applicable on French presence in the region. This theory will be tested on two recent cases of military interventions. Mali and Central African Republic will be two cases of comparation. In main part of this thesis French military interventions in these states and their comparation will be described. In each case of intervention their course of conflict, form of French intervention, major motives and international reception will be covered. 1 The Consequences of Breaching the Rules of Evidence for the Effectiveness of the Evidence Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of ineffective evidence in criminal procedures as a result of a breach the rules of evidence. The aim of the thesis is to submit current regulations about evidence in the Czech legal system, evaluate it and shine a light on certain problems. Can a criminal procedure be just if the essential principles are trampled on and the government breaks the law? Are there any barriers preventing geovernment arbitrariness? This thesis tries to answer these questions by introducing legal institutes based on area of evidence in criminal procedure. Thesis consists of six parts - four chapters, introduction and conclusion. The first chapter deals generally with evidence and its specifics in criminal law. It defines crucial terminology to understand this topic thoroughly and shines a light on principles of evidence. The second chapter revolves around admissibility and especially efficiency of evidence as a result of a breach in the rules of evidence by law enforcement. The influence of rolfing on the posture and the mobility of the spine

Bachelor's thesis is categorized as an empirical-theoretical work. Theoretical part is processed in the form of research, and is mainly focused on general characteristics of rolfing. Basic concepts, and their context are explained. Available literature ans articles from web portals Google Scholar, Pubmed, Embase were used in the theoretical part. Studies occupied by the theme of rolfing are included in the first part. Practical part consists of measured data from four probands, photos, description of methods of work, and graphical processing. Evaluating criteria consists of anamnesis (case history), visual inspection, plumage measurement, spinal motion measurement, visual analogue pain scale, emotional evaluation, and motion of fascias. The goal of the thesis is to show positive effects of rolfing. Gained results show a possible positive effect of the method on the human organism.

Origins of intentionality and Husserl's late thinking

This work aims to pursue the roots and sources of intentionality. Intentional structure of consciousness is the very core of Edmund Husserl's phenomenology and plays the main role since his Logical investigations. The problem of intentionality is complicated and complex and resonates through the Husserl lifelong work Our starting point is Husserl's late work Erfahrung und Urteil. The reason why we choose this work is twofold. First, this work shows the thoughts which result from the life long investigation of problematics. And the second reason is, this work hasn't been the subject of examination as much as Husserl's earlier works so far. The key to our work is the perspective in which every phenomenon shows. That's the reason, why we follow intentionality in three perspectives, which gradually uncovers itselves. The first perspective is the descent from acts of judgment to the original layers of intentionality. This brings us to the second perspective, which is the instinctive intentionality. This is the subject of following part of our work. The exposing of instinctive intentionality underlines the role of embodiment. Impact of the EU-wide stress tests results on market valuation of banks

Tato práce se zabývá vztahem mezi výsledky Evropských zátěžových testů 2016 WST) a tržním ohodnocením účastnících se bank, tedy jaký efekt měly výsledky a forma jejich prezentace na investory. První část práce je teoretická a přináší přehled základních informací o zátěžových testech a jejich metodice, dále se zde nachází jak ohlasy, tak i obhajoba WST. Také zde čtenář nalezne alternativní postupy testování bank, využívající metody AQR 2014, CCAR a SRISK, následované přístupů. Druhá část obsahuje přehled stěžejní literatury týkající se zátěžových testů a vlivu zveřejňování jejich výsledků. Třetí část práce se zabývá modelem využívajícím "First Difference" estimátor, který pomocí tří zkoumaných časových úseků analyzuje vliv jednotlivých testovaných faktorů na změny tržních hodnotách bank, které nastaly po zveřejnění výsledků jak EU ostatních testů. Dva modely popisují izolovaný vliv těchto testů po zveřejněních, zatímco poslední model nahlíží na daný časový úsek jako na celek. Výsledky modelů ukazují jen málo signifikantních odhadů, způsobených pravděpodobně Závěrečná kapitola shrnuje získané poznatky doplněné o autorův komentář. Organic-Inorganic Polymer Nanocomposites

The epoxy based polymer is one of the very common polymers, which was used as a host to create new better materials - nanocomposites. This thesis focused on the improvement of the thermomechanical properties of the epoxy thermosets without deteriorating their existing benefits and on further potential application of this knowledge in "smart" systems. The largest part of this work is dedicated to the reinforcement of epoxy thermosets by in situ generated silica and synthesis of organic-inorganic nanocomposites. Borontrifluoride monoethylamine (BF3MEA) was chosen as effective catalyst for the formation of nanosilica in epoxy-amine network matrix under nonaqueous (non-hydrolytic) sol-gel process. We proposed the mechanism of the nonaqueous sol-gel procedure, studied the structure evolution during the nanocomposite formation, and also determined the structure, morphology and thermomechanical properties of the obtained epoxy-silica nanocomposites. The Czech Lands in the Political Composition of Central Europe in the 10th-13th Centuries: The Form and significance of the feudal system in the socio-economic structure of Saxony and Bohemia

The work submitted is focused on the issue of the feudal institute. Based on an analysis of the Latin terminology, the metamorphoses of the terminology and its context, it attempts to capture the form and importance of this phenomenon in 'everyday practice', as it is portrayed particularly by the diplomatic sources. The text is comprised of two basic parts. The first section deals with the composition of the image of the feudal institution on the background information of the sources of imperial provenience. It is not possible to treat the imperial sources as whole within this work and so attention is focused on the wider region spread in the area of Harz, which is delimited by five bishoprics - Miessen, Naumburg, Hildesheim, Halberstadt and Merseburg. The basic sources are the diplomatic materials of the mentioned dioceses, which complement the collection of documents of the two most powerful secular ducal families asserting influence in this area in the long term - the Houses of Welph and Ascania. The subject of the analysis is first of all the Latin, or German, terminology and its importance in the range from ca the 10th to the beginning of the 14th centuries. The role of cholesterol-7alpha-hydroxylase in cholesterolemia regulation

Cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase (CYP7A1) is an enzyme catalyzing the first step of conversion of cholesterol to bile acids. The enzyme activity is regulated to supply enough bile salts necessary for absorption of fats in the intestine. In some species it contributes to cholesterol elimination from the body when dietary cholesterol intake is high and, in such a way, protects against the development of hypercholesterolemia. CYP7A1 activity can be therapeutically affected by administration of bile acid sequestrants that increase the enzyme activity and thus lower cholesterolemia, and also by administration of bile salts. The enzyme deficiency in humans results in hypercholesterolemia. Several single nucleotide polymorphisms were identified in gene encoding CYP7A1 in humans. They form three large haplotype blocks. The most attention has been paid to the -203A>C polymorphism that has an impact on cholesterol and lipoprotein concentrations, on the response of cholesterolemia to dietary intervention and on the response to hypolipidemic drugs.
