Design of special asphalt mixtures SAL for the repair of cement concrete pavements
Kalfeřt, Martin ; Špaček, Petr (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
In this thesis layer with increased resistance to crack propagation (SAL) are designed. The theoretical part describes the SAL layer, further the input materials, their production and design of various mixtures. The following is a description of the tests, which include tests of permanent deformation, crack propagation, low-temperature characteristics, test, flexural strength and relaxation. After the test results and conclusion are stated.
Desing and evaluation of Bituminous Stress Absorbing Pavement Layer
Coufalík, Pavel ; Špaček, Petr (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the possibility of special asphalt-rubber mixture using - Stress Absorbing Layer (SAL). In the theoretical part the SAL and test methods are described. In the practical part, several different mixtures are designed and selected mixtures were tested. Low-temperature characteristics, permanent deformations, bending tensile relaxation, stiffness modulus and fatigue properties were determined. Based on the test results the mixtures were compared and their benefit is evaluated according to Performance Pavement Design Method, the pavement structure was evaluated by using of computer programme LayEps.
New trends in the construction of flexible pavements
Palátová, Marcela ; Špaček, Petr (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to introduce innovations and trends in the construction of flexible pavement layers, which are used abroad. The paper is focused on some surfaces, which help to reduce noise pollution from traffic, and binders, which are based on natural ingredients called bioasphalt. It provides an information summary of increasing share of reclaimed asphalt in bituminous mixtures and introduces possible procedures that could lead to an increase in pavement life.
Gregor Piatigorsky
Špaček, Petr ; PETRÁŠ, Miroslav (advisor) ; STRAŠIL, Tomáš (referee)
In this Master disertation, the author talks about the life and career of a legendary virtuoso cellist Gregor Piatigorsky. Gregor Piatigorsky is one of the most important figures in the history of cello. Piatigorsky has not only achieved an incredible solo career, but as a teacher he also raised a large number of great cellists and cello teachers of today. Among his most famous pupil are Mischa Maisky, Steven Isserlis or Raphael Wallfish. Disertation also includes authors own experience with teaching of Laurence Lesser, who was an assistant of Piatigorsky for almost 7 years, and whose style of teaching is nearly the same as Piatigorsky's.
Acyclic nucleoside bis-phosphonates as potent inhibitors of 6-oxopurine phosphoribosyltransferases

Hypoxanthine-guanin-(xanthine) phosphoribosyltransferase (HG(X)PRT) is critical for the survival of malarial parasites Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax. These parasites rely on HG(X)PRT to make 6-oxopurine nucleoside monophosphates. Specific acyclic nucleoside phosphonates (ANPs) inhibit HG(X)PRT and thus have an anti-plasmodial activity. Crystal structures of human HGPRT in complex with several ANP-based inhibitors suggested that attachment of the second phosphonate group which could occupy the pyrophosphate binding site may lead to increased affinity of these compounds.
Acyclic nucleoside bisphosphonates as inhibitors of 6-oxopurine phosphoribosyltransferases: Potential antimalarial and antibacterial agents
Hocková, Dana ; Keough, D. T. ; Špaček, Petr ; Janeba, Zlatko ; Edstein, M. D. ; Chavchich, M. ; Wang, T. H. ; Eng, W. S. ; West, N. P. ; de Jersey, J. ; Guddat, L. W.
Acyclic nucleoside phosphonates (ANPs) that contain a 6-oxopurine base are good inhibitors of the human, Plasmodium falciparum, P. vivax, Escherichia coli and Mycobacterium tuberculosis 6-oxopurine phosphoribosyltransferases (PRTases), key enzymes of the purine salvage pathway. Chemical modifications based on the crystal structures of several inhibitors in complex with human HGPRTase have led to the design of new ANPs. These novel compounds contain a second phosphonate group attached to the ANP scaff old. The crystal structures of these inhibitors in complex with human HGPRTase show that they can fill three critical locations in the active site: the binding sites of the purine base, the 5’-phosphate group and pyrophosphate. Prodrugs have been synthesized and have been shown to arrest the growth of P. falciparum in erythrocyte culture. Prodrugs of selected ANPs also inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in cell-based assays.
SLICE Seismic lithospheric investigation of Central Europe
Tyto údaje pak zprostředkovaně poskytnou informace o strukturních vlastnostech měřeného prostředí až do oblasti svrchního pláště. Je popsáno propojení refrakčních experimentů ALP 2002 a SUDETES 2003 na našem území.

Efficient one-pot synthesis of polysubstituted 6-[(1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)methyl]uracils through the "click" protocol
Jansa, Petr ; Špaček, Petr ; Holý, Antonín ; Votruba, Ivan ; Janeba, Zlatko
Synthesis of triazoloacyclic nucleosides and nucleoside phosphonates was developed as the one-pot Cu(I)-catalyzed azide alkyne Huisgen "click" cycloaddition. A novel Cu(I)-catalyzed decarboxylation reaction of 1-substituted 1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylates at room temperature was observed and used for the preparation of 1-substituted 1H-1,2,3-triazoles.
