Therapeutic community in the treatment system of drug addicts and its specific therapeutic programs

This thesis is focused on therapeutic communities in the treatment system of drug addicted clients and on their methods, programs and mission of employed therapists to achieve better restoration of the drug addicted clients. The aim of this work is to widely describe the treatment process in therapeutic communities and zoom in an enviroment and whole treatment system which creates safety place for each member of the community. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part describes today's czech experience in therapeutic communities, whereas the importance is laid on introducing therapeutic methods and programs effectively used in social work with drug addicts.Practical part forms own qualitative research, precedented with intership in the therapeutic community Karlov.
Consultancy for families with hearing impaired children

The main subject of this thesis "Consultancy for families with hearing impaired children" is a description, and charting of, consultancy and social services which support families with hearing impaired children in the Czech Republic. The theory of this paper is based on the law no. 108/2006 digest about social service, ordinance no. 505/2006 digest, and specialised literature. The main chapter of the theoretical section, which is a premise for the practical section, focuses on three fundamental points from the 108/2006 digest: care contribution; characteristics of social services; and social services financing. These three main points from the digest significantly impact upon the previous legislation. The chief component of the practical section is a proposal and questionnaire which are used for gaining new information and opinions from social services providers. This information is meant to provide a realistic outlook on the benefits and drawbacks of the 108/2006 digest. Social services providers have also indicated satisfaction or dissatisfaction with particular changes in the legislation.
Needs of persons with disabilities in connection with the disability

This thesis is focused on needs of persons with disabilities. I have specialized on disabled persons and persons with visual and hearing failure. Based on 12 questions record form have I realized interview with 9 persons. In the aim was to find out how far has their live been changed due to their disability, how did they manage to make he best of their handicap in the aspect of health, psychological or social. I was interested in their opinion how does the society settle with their disability. Bigger part was focused on wheelchair accessibility and social policy of our Republic towards to disabled persons. The research has shown that the needs are by each handicap different. But there are some needs that the most disabled persons agree on - such as communications problems and prejudice at the hands of the community.
Behavior Problems in Preschool Children : Comprehensive Aproach to Solving Problems

This thesis Behavior Problems in Preschool Childern: Comprehensive Aproach to Solving Problems deals with problems of behavioral disorders in preschool children. The theoretical part deals with the problem definition ADHD, diagnosis in general and specifically for the diagnosis of preschool children, psychotherapy and medication. Also deals with families with children suffering from hyperkinetic disorder. The practical part is focused on parents of preschool children and their awareness of behavioral disorders. The research analyzes the knowledge of parents of hyperkinetic disorder , their view of what we understand under the term undisciplined child. In addition, figuring out who to turn to parents who seek advice and help with problems with their child's education.
Diagnostics for children aged 5 - 7 years and possibilities of family intervention

Diploma thesis "Diagnostics for children aged 5 - 7 years and possibilities of family intervention" focuses on pre-school children (exactly from 5 - 7 years old). Using diagnostic I am finding out the level of their knowledge and abilities. The thesis is divided in two parts: Theoretical and practical (research). In the first part I shortly describe what should the children be able to do in their age. In the second part I am using research to check validity the information which was found out in the first (theoretical) part. The research was realized in two kindergartens in Prague. The first kindergarten prefers to work with children of the same age in one class and the second kindergarten prefers to work with children of different age in one class. The research focuses mainly on speech abilities, motoric, hearing and sight analysis and synthesis and the ways of family treatments.
Acquisition of reading using alternative methods and problems of minority groups

This master`s thesis deals with a topic of literacy and mainly with teaching reading. The research phase of this thesis defines literacy, minority groups, teaching reading methods and acquisition of reading skills. The practical part is based on a long term research under the authority of the Czech Science Foundation between 2009 and 2011. The thesis describes only one part of the research namely in the Hanspaulka primary school in Prague. The research deals with readiness of children for learning reading in the beginning of schooling when the phonics approach is being applied. The level of reading ability of children at the end of the first class was compared. The level of the relation between the good or the risk readiness for reading and the reading level at the end of the first class of primary school was being examined.
