Inspiration for pastoral care in connection with artistic methods - with special attention to bibliotherapy and verse therapy, their possibilities and use
Šatánková, Radana ; Macek, Ondřej (advisor) ; Zámečník, Jan (referee)
The presented diploma thesis entitled Inspiration for pastoral care in connection with artistic methods - with special attention to bibliotherapy and verse therapy, their possibilities and use occupies an interdisciplinary scope in the field of theology - art - therapy. The work is divided into three parts: The first contains a treatise on pastoral and practical theology; it reflects different terminologies and notes the differences and common emphases and concepts of both theological fields. However, this is preceded by a careful search for Old Testament and New Testament images of the figure of the Shepherd - a model for those who are entrusted with the care for people. Certainly, this list with its own commentary is not exhaustive, but it is reflected in the presentation of pastoral work. Much attention is paid to the oft-discussed laity - their cooperation with the clergy and their application in the church and outside it. In pastoral work, we also encounter the four constitutive elements of the church (leiturgy, martyria, koinonia, diakonia), manifested to varying degrees, or even intertwined. Another line of work consistently points to the rapidly changing world and society and the demands on Christian service to be helpful to the man of today. The fundamental principles of the helping...
Refinement of tissue diagnostics in the transplant program
Balko, Jan ; Zámečník, Josef (advisor) ; Škarda, Jozef (referee) ; Němejcová, Kristýna (referee)
Refinement of tissue diagnostics in the transplant program Abstract The thesis describes tissue diagnostics of organ transplants of the donor as well as recipient. In case of donated organs (grafts), it aims to improve the provisional scoring system of graft rejection after uterine transplantation. Using histopathological methods including immunohistochemistry, it compares lymphocytic population classified in the scoring system with histopathological findings within the resected uteri of women who underwent hysterectomy for benign reasons. The aim was to validate the necessity of the category of so called borderline changes, whose morphology was proven to overlap with physiological finding within healthy uterine cervix. Therefore, there is no need for immunosuppressive therapy in such cases. In case of recipients, the thesis investigates the role of pulmonary megakaryocytes in explanted lungs after transplantation. The idea was to elucidate pathogenesis of the diseases leading to the need of transplantation itself. Pulmonary megakaryocytes within explanted lungs of various recipients were mapped using histopathological methods and immunohistochemistry. The strikingly increased number of such cells was detected among vascular disorders, especially idiopathic pulmonary hypertension. This finding could...

Study of common bean drought response with the use of leaf optical properties
Svitáková, Lenka ; Lhotáková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Zámečník, Jiří (referee)
The negative effects of climate change have affected the conditions of agriculture areas, which leads to hampered cultivation of crops, including the common bean's cultivation. Changes, such as extreme temperature swings and lowered water availability in soil create a big challenge for today's agriculture in seeking solutions for safeguarding the food security for all people on our planet. The aim of this thesis was to study a wider range of genotypes of common bean to quantify their resistance against lowered water availability in soil, and to establish new approaches for detecting drought stress with the use of leaf optical properties. From the methodological point of view, this thesis connects the leaf optical properties with anatomical and biophysical leaf traits. The common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) and the tepary bean (Phaseolus acutifolius) were employed as the model organisms. Plants were cultivated in two differing environments - in a greenhouse setting at the Faculty of Science of the Charles University in Prague and on the experimental fields in Colombia at the international research institute for tropical agriculture - Alliance of Biodiversity International and CIAT. There were 48 genotypes included into the field experiments in Colombia. These included genotypes from both Mesoamerican...

Behavioral expression of pain in rats
Zámečník, Jakub ; Vaculín, Šimon (advisor) ; Boukalová, Štěpána (referee)
The aim of this work is to summarize the current knowledge regarding the behavioral expressions of pain in rat. The work is focused on rats, because they are one of the most used laboratory animals, and may experience pain in some experiments. Behavioral expressions of pain were selected, because they are quite easily recognizable and measurable. The reader will be first acquainted with the necessary basics associated with the phenomenon of pain, with its conception in animals, with classification, physiology and for example with the ways in which are in rats experimentally induced pain. Then in the second part, there are shown individual behavioral expressions with examples in which cases were these manifestations observed. So everyone who is interested can learn something about pain in connection with the avoidance reaction, pose, appearance, specific movements of rat, vocalization, changes in eating and drinking, changes in activity, anxiety, cognitive functions and many other expressions. The work can be valuable contribution for all workers with animals and with its character can contribute to animal welfare. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
