Electric powered go-cart
Štol, Michal ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with rebuilding of combustion engine powered go-kart for rent to electric powered go-kart. Main goal of work is choose fitting electric engine and electric accessories for reliable working of electric go-kart, put the whole electric drive to rear construction of go-kart and check mechanical part of electric drive.
Vehicle Kinematics and Dynamics Simulations
Zháňal, Lubor ; Bauer, František (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
This paper focuses on the kinematic and dynamic numerical simulation of mechanisms by applying a numerical method, and a complex simulation programme built on it, developed by the author. Described are mathematical principles of the numerical method used and also the programming progression of the important parts of the application and its optimization. The final part includes comparative measuring of the accuracy and performance.
Transmission of HPV
Martinát, Antonín ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
This diploma thesis concerns the design proposal for a bicycle gearbox powered by human force. The first part summarizes the existing solutions. The second part includes the proposal of the new design, together with the calculation of the strength for selected parts. Attached are the drawings documenting the findings.
Spark ignition piston engine with an extended expansion
Koštuřík, Vojtěch ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a spark-ignition internal combustion engine with extended expansion. It explains the principle of extended expansion using the Atkinson or Miller cycle and the possibilities of achieving it. In addition, a design study and engine cycle is carried out. Subsequently, the course of the kinematic quantities and forces in the mechanism is determined. At the end, the strength analysis of the connecting rod of the designed mechanism is performed.
Design of sport cams for motorcycle engine
Závodník, Michal ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The master thesis contains a theoretical part with the topic of valve train. It contains measured data and their processing. The processed data are used to create the 1D engine’s simulation. Valve train’s parameters were modified for increased power and torque. Contained two variants of changes can serve as guide for final draft because of next adjustments.
Fuel cell and vehicles
Zlámal, Josef ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
In the first part of this work a historical development of fuel cell, description of its construction and function including a comparison of currently used fuel cells is presented. The next part of this work is focused on fuel for fuel cells, its production, distribution and storage. The last chapters are dealing with fuel cell automobile, project of particular car companies and author´s assessment of individual fuel cell systems.
Gearbox with Gears Changing on Load
Formánek, Pavel ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor work is focused on analysis of structural arrangements, technical and operating parameters of a gearbox with gear changing on the load. First part of this work is devoted to gears distribution, their gear change and the ways of gear change. The following part describes various structures of gearboxes, their principle and control. The summary evaluates advantages and disadvantages of the gearboxes and describes estimation of following development in this field.
Stirling Engine
Vondruš, Jan ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the description and calculation of a closed regenerative thermodynamic cycle. In the theoretical part of the thesis, there is described history of the engine, the principle of its function, differences between particular design variants, and the use of the engine in the past and nowadays. In the other part of the work, there is described the principle and calculation of ideal Stirling cycle. In addition, there are included positives as well as negatives of applying the heat devices based on this cycle. Practical part of the work deals with the calculation of ideal Stirling cycle with the use of Schmidt theory. The primary aim of this bachelor thesis is then to compare and contrast the results gained from both of the calculation methods. In the end, the results of the thesis show that the use of Schmidt theory gives lower, i.e. more accurate, values of engine's parameters compared to the use of Stirling ideal cycle.
The five-cylinder inline diesel engine with eccentric crank mechanism
Süttő, Daniel ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to find out the influence of eccentricity of crank mechanism on the duration of the force between the piston and the cylinder liner. At the same time I wanted to find out its influence on the balance of the whole system. It is important to design the balance for the selected value of the eccentricity and subsequently put through the crank shaft to stress analysis with torsional vibrations. I got so interested in this problem that in addition to the whole topic I designed a torsional vibration damper.
HPV braking system
Sáska, Jakub ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
Work covers the topic of HPV (Human Powered Vehicle) brake systems. It contains an overview of brake types, as well as solution of mutual compatibility issues of various common standards. Included table serves the purpose of right brake system selection for given HPV.
