External Economic Balance of Hong Kong

This bachelor thesis deals with the development of external economic balance of Hong Kong in the years 1998-2013. In the first chapter, the notion external economic balance is defined. The emphasis is put especially on the theory of balance of payments in light of its horizontal and vertical structure. Furthermore, the terms international investment position and external debt are explained. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of Hong Kong's balance of payments in the above mentioned period, concentrates on the development of particular accounts and their items and looks into causes of this development. Finally, the third chapter depicts the shape of external economic balance of Hong Kong through cumulative balances, international investment position and external debt.
The Entrance of Spain to the Eurozone

This bachelor's thesis is devoted to adoption of the euro in Spain and analyses impacts of the euro adoption. The thesis is divided into three chapters that are then divided into subheads with partial goals. There are mentioned some general information about Spain in the first part of the work and after that, the recent economic situation is analysed. In the second chapter the Maastricht criteria are described that are followed by the analysis of the fulfilment of convergence criteria by Spain. The second part of this chapter contains processing of data based on the questionnaire that was completed in spring 2015. The last chapter deals with the impacts of the European economic crisis and explains the connections between the euro adoption and subsequent economic crisis. There are also depicted possible solutions to the crisis not only in Spain, but also in the whole euro area.
Position of Ireland after financial and debt crisis

This bachelor thesis deals with the development of the Irish economy since the end of 1980S until today. The aim is to learn to what extent the financial and debt crisis that hit Ireland in 2008 came to influence foreign direct investment flows. The thesis will focus more specifically on the resulting changes in investment conditions. The first part of the thesis will take up the sharp upswing in the Irish economy in the 1990s and its equally positive aftermath in the years thereafter, as manifested in various macroeconomic indicators. The second part will discuss the beginnings and the evolution of the Irish financial crisis that in due course led to the country's debt crisis, and will raise the various measures taken to save the national economy. The last and third part of the thesis will focus on the present situation in Ireland, including a comparison with the situation before the crisis. A general conclusion of the thesis will be that the Irish economy now seems to have regained a certain stability, with inward direct investment almost back to pre-crisis levels.
The balance of payments of the Czech Republic in the years 2005-2014

This bachelor's thesis deals with the development of the balance of payments of the Czech Republic in the years 2005-2014. The theoretical part provides an overwiev of the structure of the balance of payments, principles of its assembling and differences between the fifth and the sixth edition of the Balance of Payments Manual. The second part is focused on the development of the individual accounts of the balance of payments and finding factors which influenced their development.
Impact of the Global Economic Crisis on Spain

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the causes of the economic crisis in Spain, its progress and impacts on selected sectors of the Spanish economy. In this thesis selected macroeconomic indicators such as GDP, inflation and unemployment are used to describe developments in Spain during the crisis and before. A significant part is devoted to the causes of the crisis, mainly to the construction sector and the formation of a price bubble in the real estate market. Effects of the crisis are demonstrated on selected sectors of the economy. The last part describes the attitude and measures taken by the Spanish government and the European Union during the crisis. Attention is focused on budget cuts and the steps undertaken by the Spanish government.
Manpower immigration to Germany in the 21st Century

This bachelor thesis is focused on the connection analysis in the German labour market in context of foreign manpower. The first chapter contains the description of migration phenomenon and personal predispositions of an individual, influencing the decision-making process to emigrate or not. The second chapter compares Germany as a target country to other European Union countries and defines the reason why it can be the most attractive one for the potential migrants. The third chapter describes the immigration and integration politics of the EU which have impact on influx of immigrants. The fourth chapter analyzes the number of employed foreigners on the German labour market and compares German economic growth in the 21st Century with the influx of immigrants throughout the years. The objective of this thesis is to compare the attractiveness of Germany with other EU countries and determine the impact of foreign worker on its economy.
Great Britain – Renegade or Saviour of the European Union?

This work analyses development of economic and politic relationships of Great Britain with the European Communities (EC) and the European Union (EU) since the beginning of European integration till the contemporary debt crisis of the Eurozone. It deals with British European policies before and after Britain's accession to the EC and puts emphasis on British influence over negotiations about the main policies and institutional changes of the EC and EU, as well as on British internal views on European integration, first of all on often misunderstood British euroscepticism. From the analysis of historical and contemporary data author infers not only possible scenarios of the future relationship between the Great Britain and Europe, but also the influence of this member state on the development of the EU.
Effects of the size of the municipality on its financing

This thesis examines how the size of the municipality affects its finances in terms of income and expenditure. The aim of this study is to assess the benefits of the merger of small villages to larger town and reveal some areas where the size of the municipality plays a role in terms of its financing. The thesis composes of three parts. The first chapter is an overview of theoretical knowledge about the topic to faciliate understanding of the following two parts. These are already showing a practical example - a case study of marging six small villages with a larger town. The second part of the analysis focuses on the revenue site of their budgets. Finally, the third section is dealing with the expenditure site of municipal budgets. Partial conclusions on benefits and drawbacks of merging municipalities are made in each part of the work.
Possibilities of full integration assessed bases and tax base of individuals

This bachelor thesis deals with the integration of the tax base of individuals and bases of public health insurance and social security. The aim is to identify gaps that prevent integration and basic outline of steps leading to this unification. Thesis is developed on the basis of existing legislation. It is divided into three parts. The first chapter describes the people involved in this issue and a process of calculating individual bases at each of the bases separately. The second chapter focuses on differences between the particular systems, mainly different approach to classification of revenue into individual bases. In the third chapter I introduce arguments for and against integration. Various stages of integration from zero to full integration are described.
The effect of colonialism on the Commonwealth of Nation´s economy

The objective of this thesis is to find out, whether historical colonial relationships have some impacts on today's world economy. I concentrated myself on British Empire and consequently rising British Commonwealth of Nations. First of all, historical contexts connected with colonialism are discussed, than specifics of British colonialism are characterised. Also the decolonisation is mentioned as the end of this historical period. Later on, the thesis is dealing with Commonwealth itself. In the last chapter the contemporary relationships within the Commonwealth are analysed.
