This dissertation was a study on parental satisfaction with inclusive education that I carried out in the Czech Republic in order to find the answers to research questions: (1) to what extent are the parents satisfied with inclusive education? And (2) what are the factors that contribute to such satisfaction? The information was gathered from the parents of children with speciál education needs integrated in the mainstream school. This study engaged 24 parents who have children with disabilities integrated in the mainstream lower secondary schools. The results indicated that parents of children with disabilities were generally satisfied with school where their children have been integrated. Specifically, parents were satisfied with school environment, classroom, learning materials. They strongly expressed that they needed their children to study in the mainstream school because the children need to make more friends with the same age group, to play with their friends, to be invited to the birthday party and so forth. Notwithstanding, there were a small number of parents who were dissatisfied or less satisfied. Gaewu, Gustav Kojo ; Šiška, Jan (advisor) ; Novosad, Libor (referee)
The study aims at finding out the perceptions of mainstream and special education teachers towards the education of children with special educational needs in mainstream schools in the Czech Republic. Research has shown that teacher perceptions are important in determining the effectiveness of inclusive education, as teachers are the school personnel most responsible for implementing inclusive education. The research was specifically conducted in one special school for children with mental disability, autism and physical disability, Rakovník, and three mainstream schools in Prague. Qualitative, interpretive research design was used, and the research instruments employed were focus group discussion and semi structured interview. Female teachers constituted the focus group whilst one male teacher, being the deputy head teacher of one mainstream school, was interviewed. The findings suggest that the participants from the special school did not have positive perception towards the education of children with special educational needs in the mainstream setting because of the unavailability of the necessary resources and support services in the mainstream schools. The participants from the mainstream setting, although they expressed the importance of inclusive education, were of the view that the mainstream...

It deals with the theoretical outline of the issues, particularly The Law of Social Services n. 108/2006 in the current version of later phrasing and amendment, and the quality standards of social services in relation to mentally disabled people. It also concerns with the formation of the Diakonie of the Czech Protestant Church, the Ratolest Centre in Prague and the evaluation of practical results of the introducing of the quality standards of social services in daily work of the concerned centre from the point of its staff and ordinary practice. The work on the standards in Ratolest Centre can be devided in three main stages. The first stage concerns the years 2004-2007, when the standards were intensely but not continually worked on. The work was primarily organized by one member of the staff and the management of the Centre. In this phase it meant mainly changes of practical dealing and communication with the clients.
