The impacts of rapid economic growth on the environment in China

China's economic miracle is more than impressive. The thesis focuses on the factors influencing the development of economic situation in recent years. It is pointed out the connection between rapid economic growth and substantial deterioration of the environment, particularly the air pollution. The chinese authorities have recently adopted strict measures and regulations to predict the negative impacts of pollution on the living standard of inhabitants. It is obvious that the questions concerned the environmental issues need to be discussed at international level. There have been decsribed some agreements of bilateral and regional characters as well as multilateral commitments of Chinese People's Republic.

The current status of fulfillment of the Copenhagen criteria by TurkeyT

The paper gives a picture of Turkey`s readiness for the membership in the EU. The Copenhagen criteria serve as a base for illustration of the status quo of Turkey`s preparation process. As Turkey`s negotiation process has already last for several decades, the first part of the thesis briefly describes the development of relations between EU and Turkey. The second part concentrates on the Copenhagen criteria and explains its origins as well as its content. Finally, the last part of thesis examinates to what extent Turkey fulfills the given areas of political and economic Copenhagen criteria. The focus was given on the most problematic areas as the main aim was to explain the origins of these problems and consequent obstacles Turkey has to tackle.

The Role of G7/G8 in the World Economy - Selected Aspects

The position of Group of Eight is today very important from the world ecomomic view. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarize the impact of the evolution of this group and to describe some selected influential areas more detailed. The author of the thesis sums up the origin of the group including the present influence on the world in the first part of the thesis. The next chapter contains descriptions of some of the most important aspects of the world economy. In particular, these are topics which involve the debt relief of developing countries, poverty reduction, nuclear safety, international security and terrorism.
